Tag Question and others

• Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Tag question ব্যবহার করা হয় উক্তিটি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য।
- Subject ও tense অনুসারে auxiliary verb দ্বারা tag question হয়।

• Let যুক্ত imperative sentence এর tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Let এরপর 's থাকেলে বুঝতে হবে যে 's দ্বারা us কে বুঝানো হয়েছে।
- Us এর পরিবর্তে We ব্যবহার করা হয়।
- Tag question এ shall we বসে।

• Complete Sentence: Let's meet at the park tomorrow, shell we?

• Correct Answer: ক) could they.

- সাধারণত Tag question ব্যবহৃত হয় পূর্বে উল্লেখিত কোন উক্তি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত হওয়ার জন্য।
- Statement positive হলে tag question টা negative হবে।
- আবার statement negative হলে tag question positive হবে।
- Subject ও Tense অনুসারে auxiliary verb দ্বারা tag question তৈরি হয়।
- Statement টির subject হিসেবে everyone, everybody, somebody (কেউ, কোন একজন), someone, nobody (কেউনা)- এদের যে কোন একটি ব্যবহার করা হলে Subject হিসেবে They ব্যবহার করা হয়।

- Nobody could hear the sound clearly, could they?
- Statement negative তাই, tag question টি positive হবে।

Correct answer: were they.
Complete sentence: No one was present there, were they?
- এখানে বাক্যে auxiliary verb হলো 'was'. কিন্তু যেহেতু Tag question এর subject 'they', তাই 'was'-এর পরিবর্তে 'they'-এর সাথে 'were' ব্যবহৃত হবে।

• No one, Nobody, Nothing, Scarcely, Barely, Hardly, Seldom ইত্যাদি যুক্ত sentence এর Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Statement এ যদি neither, none, no one, nobody, nothing, scarcely, barely, hardly, hardly ever, seldom এদের যে কোন একটি word থাকে তাহলে এটি negative statement হিসেবে ধরা হয়।
- এরা negative অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।
- এদের পরবর্তী Tag এ এজন্য not বসে না।
- Subject ও tense অনুসারে auxiliary verb দ্বারা tag question হয়।
- Auxiliary verb না থাকলে, মূল verb এর tense ও Person অনুযায়ী verb ব্যবহার করতে হবে।

• used to বাক্যের auxiliary verb হিসেবে ব্যবহার হলে tag question এ didn't/ usedn't বসে।
- ought to বাক্যের auxiliary verb হিসেবে ব্যবহার হলে tag question এ oughtn't/ shouldn't বসে।
- প্রদত্ত sentence টিতে auxiliary verb হিসেবে ought to ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে।
- তাই, tag question এ এখানে oughtn't এবং subject হিসেবে I ব্যবহার হবে।

• Correct sentence: I ought to complain, oughtn't I?

Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- সাধারণত Tag question ব্যবহৃত হয় পূর্বে উল্লেখিত কোন উক্তি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত হওয়ার জন্য। 
- Statement positive হলে tag question টা negative হবে।
- আবার statement negative হলে tag question positive হবে।
- Subject ও Tense অনুসারে auxiliary verb দ্বারা tag question তৈরি হয়।
- যেহেতু প্রশ্ন প্রদত্ত বাক্যটি affirmative এ আছে, তাই  Tag question Negative হবে এবং বাক্যটি Present indefinite tense হওয়ায় Subject ও Tense অনুসারে auxiliary verb অনুযায়ী সঠিক tag হবে - didn't they? 

Correct sentence: They went to school yesterday, didn't they?

• Confusing Contraction sentence এর tag question করার নিয়ম:
- যদি subject এরপর 'd থাকে অর্থাৎ, verb টি base form এ আসে, তাহলে এটিকে modal auxiliary হিসেবে would ধরতে হবে।
- Example: If I were a rich man, I'd establish a hospital, wouldn't I?

- তবে 'd এরপরের verb টি যদি past participle form এ থাকে তাহলে তাকে past perfect tense এর had হিসেবে ধরতে হবে।
- Example: I'd reached there in time, hadn't I?

• Correct answer: We'd booked the tickets in advance, hadn't we?

• Complete sentence: Nobody believes that story, do they?
- Bangla: কেউই সেই গল্প বিশ্বাস করে না, তাই না?

• Tag question এর নিয়মানুযায়ী:
- Tag question -এর subject সর্বদা মূল sentence -এর subject -এর pronoun হয়।
- Tag question গঠনে auxiliary verb ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং auxiliary verb -এর সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ হয়।
- Statement positive হলে tag question টা negative হবে।
- আবার statement negative হলে tag question - positive হবে।

• Complete sentence: You are taking the admission test, aren't you?

• Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Tag question ব্যবহার করা হয় উক্তিটি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য।
- Statement positive হলে tag question টি Negative হবে।
- Subject ও tense অনুসারে Auxiliary verb দ্বারা tag question হয়।

• Tag question এর নিয়মানুযায়ী বাক্যটি Affirmative হওয়ায় Tag question টি Negative হবে।
- বাক্যটি Present continuous tense হওয়ায় Tag question এর ক্ষেত্রে aren't ব্যবহার হবে।

• Correct Answer: ক) She rarely goes to the gym, does she?

• hardly, scarcely, rarely, seldom ইত্যাদি কোনো sentence- এ থাকলে, ওই sentence 'negative' expression দেয়।
- এর ফলে প্রশ্ন প্রদও বাক্যটির tag 'affirmative' হয়েছে।
- অর্থাৎ, Tag question এর নিয়মানুযায়ী বাক্যটি Negative হওয়ায় Tag question Affirmative হয়েছে।

Other Options:
খ) doesn't she: “doesn't she” positive statement এর জন্য negative tag, কিন্তু এখানে statement এ negative sense (rarely) প্রকাশ পেয়েছে, তাই এটি ভুল।

গ) is she: “is she” verb “to be” এর জন্য ব্যবহৃত হয়। এখানে main verb হলো “goes”, তাই এটি ভুল।

ঘ) isn't she: এটি “to be” verb-এর negative tag, কিন্তু main verb “goes”, তাই এটি ভুল।

Correct answer: She hardly steps out of her home, does she?
- প্রদত্ত sentence এ hardly থাকায় এটি একটি negative sentence. 
- statement negative হওয়ায় tag question টি positive হবে।
- Auxiliary verb না থাকায় does বসিয়ে tag question তৈরি করা হয়েছে।
- তাই সঠিক Tag question: does she?

• Complete sentence: Banks close at 4 pm, don't they?

• Tag question -এর নিয়মানুযায়ী,

- let's এর ক্ষেত্রে tag অংশে shall বসবে।

- Statement negative তাই, tag question টি positive হবে।

The correct answer is : খ) hasn’t he
Complete sentence: He's finished reading the book, hasn’t he?

- এখানে "He's " মানে He has, অর্থাৎ He has finished reading the book
- Subject 'He' এবং 'verb' present perfect tense হলে, 
- এবং সেটি affirmative হয়, তাহলে negative tag বসে।
- 'tag', question অংশে 'has' এর Negative form 'hasn't' এবং 'He' Pronoun-টি ব্যবহৃত হবে।

Other options
ক) has he –
ভুল, কারণ affirmative sentence হলে question tag negative হবে।

গ) didn’t he –
ভুল, কারণ এটি Past Simple tense এর জন্য।

ঘ) does he –
ভুল, কারণ এটি Present Simple tense এর জন্য।

• Tag question করার নিয়ম:
