Tag Question and others

• Tag question করার নিয়ম- 
- সাধারণত Tag question ব্যবহৃত হয় পূর্বে উল্লেখিত কোন উক্তি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত হওয়ার জন্য। 
- Statement positive হলে tag question টা negative হবে।
- আবার statement negative হলে tag question positive হবে।
- Subject ও Tense অনুসারে auxiliary verb দ্বারা tag question তৈরি হয়।

- যেহেতু প্রশ্ন প্রদত্ত বাক্যটি affirmative এ আছে, তাই  Tag question Negative হবে এবং বাক্যটি past tense হওয়ায় Subject ও Tense অনুসারে এবং verb singular এবং subject টি 3rd person singular হওয়ায় Tag question এর ক্ষেত্রে didn't হবে।

- সুতরাং, নিয়মানুযায়ী সঠিক উত্তর - She completed the assignment on time, didn’t she?

Correct answer: shall we.
Complete sentence: Let's not waste any more time, shall we?
- Let’s বা Let us থাকলে Tag –এ shall we বসাতে হয়।

• Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Tag question ব্যবহার করা হয় উক্তিটি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য।
- মূল বাক্যটি হ্যাঁ-বাচক (affirmative) হলে, tag question-টি না-বাচক (negative) হবে।
- Subject ও tense অনুসারে auxiliary verb দ্বারা tag question হয়।
- যদি বাক্যে Auxiliary verb না থাকে তাহলে Tense অনুযায়ী do, does বা did ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
- Tag Question-এ  Noun ব্যবহার করা যাবে না, সব সময় Noun-টির পরিবর্তে Pronoun ব্যবহার করতে হবে।

• কিন্তু, Imperative Sentence হলে Tag- এ will you বসে।
- যেমন: Open the window, will you?

- Complete sentence: Nothing was wrong, was it?

Answer: Nothing is impossible, is it?

• No one, Nobody, Nothing, Scarcely, Barely, Hardly, Seldom ইত্যাদি যুক্ত sentence এর Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Statement- এ যদি neither, no (adjective হিসেবে), none, no one, nobody, nothing, scarcely, barely, hardly, hardly ever, seldom- এদের যে কোন একটি word থাকে তাহলে এটি negative statement হিসেবে ধরা হয়।
- এরা negative অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।
- এদের পরবর্তী Tag- এ এজন্য not বসে না।
- সরাসরি interrogative tag বসে।

উল্লিখিত প্রশ্নে  "Nothing" একটি negative অর্থবোধক শব্দ, তাই এটি negative statement।
Negative statement-এর tag question affirmative (positive) হবে।
"Nothing" এর জন্য pronoun হিসেবে "it" ব্যবহৃত হয়।
মূল বাক্যে "is" ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে, তাই tag question-এও "is" থাকবে।
সঠিক উত্তর: Nothing is impossible, is it?

বাকি অপশনগুলোর ভুল:
খ) Nothing is impossible, isn't it? → Negative tag হওয়া উচিত নয়।
গ) Nothing is impossible, does it? → "is" থাকার কারণে "does" ভুল।
ঘ) Nothing is impossible, doesn't it? → "does" ব্যবহৃত হয় না, কারণ মূল verb "is"।

• Complete sentence: I can’t remember what his name is.
- এই প্রশ্নটি Embedded question এর ভিত্তিতে করা হয়েছে।

• Embedded/Indirect question এর নিয়মানুযায়ী:
- বাক্যের মাঝে wh-word বসে যে প্রশ্ন তৈরি করে তাই embedded question.
- Embedded question, English Grammar এর এমন একটি নিয়ম যেখানে একটি assertive বাক্যের মধ্যে একটি interrogative বা প্রশ্নবোধক বাক্য (indirect question) সন্নিবেশিত করা হয়।
- অর্থাৎ, wh-word দ্বারা subordinate clause শুরু হয় এবং subordinate clause টি কখনোই Interrogative হয় না, সর্বদাই assertive হয়ে থাকে।

• Structure:
- Main question: I can’t remember...
- Subordinate clause (Embedded question): "what his name is".
- wh-word যুক্ত subordinate clause এ wh word এর পর- subject + verb +ext. বসবে।

- সুতরাং, সঠিক উত্তর হবে- what his name is.

• Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Tag question ব্যবহার করা হয় উক্তিটি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য।
- Statement positive হলে tag question টি negative হবে এবং negative হলে positive হবে।
- Subject ও tense অনুসারে auxiliary verb দ্বারা tag question হয়।

• No one, Nobody, Nothing, Scarcely, Barely, Hardly, Seldom ইত্যাদি যুক্ত sentence এর Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Statement এ যদি neither, none, no one, nobody, nothing, scarcely, barely, hardly, hardly ever, seldom এদের যে কোন একটি word থাকে তাহলে এটি negative statement হিসেবে ধরা হয়।
- এরা negative অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।
- এদের পরবর্তী Tag এ এজন্য not বসে না।
- auxiliary verb না থাকলে, মূল verb এর tense ও person অনুযায়ী verb ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
- এখানে 'eats' হলো third person singular number (He) এর verb, তাই tag question টি does he?

• Complete Sentence: He hardly ever eats sweets, does he?

Correct answer: shall we?
Complete sentence: Let's have a cup of tea, shall we?
- Let’s বা Let us থাকলে Tag –এ shall we বসাতে হয়।

• Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Tag question ব্যবহার করা হয় উক্তিটি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য।
- মূল বাক্যটি হ্যাঁ-বাচক (affirmative) হলে, tag question-টি না-বাচক (negative) হবে।
- Subject ও tense অনুসারে auxiliary verb দ্বারা tag question হয়।
- যদি বাক্যে Auxiliary verb না থাকে তাহলে Tense অনুযায়ী do, does বা did ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
- Tag Question-এ  Noun ব্যবহার করা যাবে না, সব সময় Noun-টির পরিবর্তে Pronoun ব্যবহার করতে হবে।

• কিন্তু, Imperative Sentence হলে Tag- এ will you বসে।
- যেমন: Close the door, will you?

• Correct Answer: ক) does she.

- She hardly goes outside, does she?
- সে কদাচিৎ বাহিরে যায়, তাই নয় কি?

• hardly, scarcely, seldom ইত্যাদি কোনো sentence- এ থাকলে, ওই sentence 'negative' expression দেয়।
- এর ফলে প্রশ্ন প্রদও বাক্যটির tag 'affirmative' হয়েছে।
- অর্থাৎ, Tag question এর নিয়মানুযায়ী বাক্যটি Negative হওয়ায় Tag question Affirmative হয়েছে।

• সাধারণত Tag question ব্যবহৃত হয় পূর্বে উল্লেখিত কোন উক্তি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত হওয়ার জন্য। 
• Statement 'positive' হলে tag question টা 'negative' হবে। আবার statement 'negative' হলে tag question 'positive' হবে।

- যদি subject এরপর 'd থাকে অর্থাৎ, verb টি base form এ আসে, তাহলে এটিকে modal auxiliary হিসেবে would ধরতে হবে।
- Example: If I were a rich man, I'd establish a hospital, wouldn't I?

- তবে 'd এরপরের verb টি যদি past participle form এ থাকে তাহলে তাকে past perfect tense এর had হিসেবে ধরতে হবে।
- Example: I'd reached there in time, hadn't I?

• Correct answer: He had written the report before the meeting, hadn't he?

• Correct tag question: Everything looks perfect now, doesn’t it?

• Tag question করার নিয়ম-

• Complete Sentence: The teacher will help the student, won't he?

• Tag question -এর নিয়মানুযায়ী,

- প্রদত্ত বাক্যটি positive হওয়ায় এবং auxiliary verb হিসেবে 'will' থাকায়, tag টি হবে- won't he?

• Statement টি affirmative হলে, এবং তার subject হিসেবে everyone, everybody, somebody (কেউ, কোন একজন), someone- এদের যে কোন একটি ব্যবহার করা হলে tag এ not ব্যবহার হবে।
- Tag question এর subject হিসেবে They বসবে।

Answer: How bright the stars are, aren’t they?

• Exclamatory Sentence-এ Auxiliary Verb (am, is, are, was, were, has, have, had ইত্যাদি) থাকলে Tag Question-এ isn’t, aren’t, wasn’t, weren’t ইত্যাদি বসে।
→ উদাহরণ: How beautiful the picture is, isn’t it?

• Exclamatory Sentence-এ Main Verb (যেমন: sing, eat, run ইত্যাদি) থাকলে Tag Question-এ don’t, doesn’t, didn’t বসে।
→ উদাহরণ: How nicely the bird sings, doesn’t it?

• Statement-এ Subject যদি Noun হয় (যেমন: the boy, the girls, the picture ইত্যাদি), তাহলে Tag Question-এ সেই Noun-এর Pronoun (it, they, he, she ইত্যাদি) ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
→ উদাহরণ: How clever the boy is, isn’t he?

"How bright the stars are" একটি statement, এবং "are" auxiliary verb ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে।
Tag question এ "aren't" ব্যবহার করা হবে কারণ "are" এর বিপরীতে negative tag প্রয়োজন, এবং "the stars" এর জন্য "they" pronoun ব্যবহার হবে।
সুতরাং সঠিক tag question হবে: "How bright the stars are, aren't they?"

বাকি অপশনগুলোর ভুল:
ক) How bright the stars are, isn’t it? → "it" ভুল, কারণ "the stars" এর জন্য "they" ব্যবহার হবে।
খ) How bright the stars are, don’t they? → "don’t" ভুল, কারণ "are" এর বিপরীতে "aren’t" ব্যবহৃত হবে।
ঘ) How bright the stars are, doesn’t it? → "doesn't" ভুল, কারণ এখানে "are" ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে।

• Complete sentence: If they practice daily, they’ll improve, won't they?

• Complex sentence -এর Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Complex sentence -এ Clause marker (if, unless, that, etc.) থাকলে main clause -এর sub ও verb অনুযায়ী tag question হয়।
- কিন্তু Clause marker না থাকলে subordinate clause অনুসারে tag question হয়।

- প্রদত্ত বাক্যে যেহেতু If আছে, তাই tag question টি main clause (they’ll improve) অনুযায়ী হবে।
- আবার, Statement positive হলে tag question টি negative হবে।
- আর statement negative হলে tag question টি positive হবে।
- এখানে main clause হলো positive, তাই tag টি negative ("won't they?") হবে।

- সুতরাং, নিয়মানুযায়ী সঠিক tag question টি হবে- won't they?

• Let যুক্ত imperative sentence এর tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Let এরপর 's থাকলে বুঝতে হবে যে 's দ্বারা us কে বুঝানো হয়েছে।
- tag question এর নিয়ম অনুসারে Sentence টি positive হলে tag question negative হবে।
- Us এর পরিবর্তে We ব্যবহার করা হয়।
"Let’s" (Let's) একটি suggestion বা invitation বোঝায়, এবং এ ধরনের বাক্যে "shall we" tag question ব্যবহার করা হয়।
"Shall we?" - সঠিক tag question যেটি suggestion এর পরে আসে।
অর্থাৎ tag question এর নিয়ম অনুসারে সঠিক উত্তর: গ) shall we

Complete sentence: Let’s start the meeting now, shall we?

• Complete sentence: No one helped us, did they?

• Tag question এর নিয়মানুযায়ী:
- Everyone, everybody, somebody, someone, anybody, anyone, no one, nobody, ইত্যাদি দ্বারা sentence শুরু হলে tag-question এর subject হিসেবে they বসে।
- No one, Nobody - negative অর্থ দেয় তাই, এদের tag question - positive হবে।

- প্রদত্ত Sentence টি past indefinte tense -এ আছে, তাই Auxiliary verb হিসেবে 'did' বসবে (subject they).
- অর্থাৎ, Tag question এর নিয়মানুযায়ী বাক্যটি Negative হওয়ায় Tag question টি Affirmative হবে।

- সুতরাং, নিয়মানুযায়ী সঠিক tag question টি হবে- did they?

• Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- সাধারণত Tag question ব্যবহৃত হয় পূর্বে উল্লেখিত কোন উক্তি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত হওয়ার জন্য।
- Statement positive হলে tag question টি negative এবং negative হলে positive হবে।
- Subject ও Tense অনুসারে auxiliary verb দ্বারা tag question তৈরি হয়।

- যেহেতু প্রশ্ন প্রদত্ত বাক্যটি affirmative এ আছে, তাই  Tag question Negative হবে এবং বাক্যটি past tense হওয়ায় Subject ও Tense অনুসারে এবং verb singular এবং subject টি 3rd person singular হওয়ায় Tag question এর ক্ষেত্রে didn't হবে।

• Statement টি affirmative হলে, এবং তার subject হিসেবে everyone, everybody, somebody (কেউ, কোন একজন), someone- এদের যে কোন একটি ব্যবহার করা হলে tag- এ not ব্যবহার হবে।
- মূল verb অনুসারে tag question এ verb বসে।
- Tag question এর subject হিসেবে They বসবে।
- Statement positive হলে tag question টি negative হবে।

- এখানে যেহেতু মূল বাক্যটি Past Indefinite -এ আছে এবং এতে কোনো "Auxiliary verb" নেই, তাই Past Indefinite Tense-এর auxiliary verb 'did' ব্যবহার করতে হবে। বাক্যটি হ্যাঁ-বাচক হওয়ায়, tag question-টি negative  হবে। এই কারণে ''didn't' ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে।

• Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Tag question ব্যবহার করা হয় উক্তিটি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য।
- Statement positive হলে tag question টি negative এবং negative হলে positive হবে।
- Subject ও tense অনুসারে auxiliary verb দ্বারা tag question হয়।

• Sub + need/ needs/ needed থাকলে tag question এ don't/ doesn't/ didn't হবে, কখনোই needn't হবে না।
- don't/ doesn't/ didn't need থাকলে do/ does/ did হবে।
- শুধুমাত্র needn't থাকলে need হবে।
- 'needed' থাকায় বোঝা যাচ্ছে বাক্যটি Past Indefinite Tense-এ আছে। এই Tense-এর জন্য 'did' auxiliary verb ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- আবার বাক্যের subject 'They' হওয়ায়, tag-এও একই pronoun 'they' ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

• Correct Answer: ঘ) does she?

• সাধারণত Tag question ব্যবহৃত হয় পূর্বে উল্লিখিত কোন উক্তি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত হওয়ার জন্য।
- Tag question-এর subject সর্বদা মূল sentence-এর subject-এর pronoun হয়।
- Tag question গঠনে auxiliary verb ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং auxiliary verb-এর সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ হয়।
- Statement positive হলে tag question টি negative হবে।
- আবার statement negative হলে tag question টি positive হবে।

• She hardly comes here, ____?
- “Hardly” একটি negative শব্দ, যদিও বাক্যে “not” নেই। tag question প্রশ্নে যদি মূল বাক্য নেগেটিভ হয়, তাহলে ট্যাগ হবে positive.
- “She hardly comes here” অর্থ: সে প্রায় কখনোই এখানে আসে না (নেগেটিভ)।
- তাই tag হবে: does she?

• Other options:
ক) didn’t she? → Past tense tag, but the sentence is present tense.

খ) did she? → Correct tense but incorrect for present simple structure.

গ) doesn’t she? → Negative tag, but “hardly” is already negative.

• Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Tag question ব্যবহার করা হয় উক্তিটি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য।
- Statement positive হলে tag question টি negative হবে।

• Let যুক্ত imperative sentence এর tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Let এরপর 's থাকেলে বুঝতে হবে যে 's দ্বারা us কে বুঝানো হয়েছে।
- Us এর পরিবর্তে We ব্যবহার করা হয়।
- Tag question এ shall we বসে।

• Correct Answer: ক) shall we?

- Let’s go out, shall we?
- “Let’s” মানে হলো “চলো আমরা”, এটি একটি প্রস্তাব বা আহ্বান বোঝায়।
- যখন বাক্যটি Let’s দিয়ে শুরু হয়, তখন এর উপযুক্ত Question Tag হয় “shall we?”
- “Shall we?” ব্যবহার করে আমরা শ্রোতাকে সম্মত হওয়ার জন্য নরমভাবে জিজ্ঞাসা করি।
- অন্য বিকল্পগুলো যেমন “will we”, “do we”, বা “won’t we” -এই বাক্যের সঙ্গে ব্যবহার করলে অর্থ ও ব্যাকরণগতভাবে ভুল হয়।
- তাই, প্রস্তাবমূলক বাক্যে “Let’s” এর সঠিক ট্যাগ প্রশ্ন হলো শুধুমাত্র “shall we?”

Other options:
খ) will we? 
- ভবিষ্যৎ ভবিষ্যদ্বাণীর জন্য ব্যবহৃত হয়, প্রস্তাবের জন্য নয়।

গ) won’t we? 
- এটি নেতিবাচক এবং প্রস্তাবনা বোঝাতে মানানসই নয়।

ঘ) do we? 
-  এটি বর্তমানকালের জন্য, কিন্তু "Let’s" এর পর চলে না।

• Correct Answer: খ) will you?

- এটি একটি আদেশমূলক বাক্য (imperative sentence).
- আদেশমূলক বাক্যের শেষে ট্যাগ বসাতে হলে সাধারণত “will you?” ব্যবহার করা হয়।
- এখানে “Open the door” একটি আদেশ বা অনুরোধ।
- তাই ট্যাগ হবে: will you?

• Other options:
ক) do you? → এটি সাধারণ present tense বাক্যের জন্য, আদেশে নয়।

গ) don’t you? → ভুল, কারণ “Open” বাক্যে "do not" নেই।

ঘ) shall you? → সচরাচর ব্যবহৃত হয় না tag হিসেবে আদেশমূলক বাক্যে।
