Tag Question and others

• Correct Answer: ক) didn’t she?

- She used to read novels, didn’t she?
- "Used to" বোঝায় কোনো কাজ আগে নিয়মিত করা হতো, কিন্তু এখন আর করা হয় না।
- যখন "used to" ব্যবহৃত হয়, তখন এর tag question হয় "didn’t she?"
- কারণ "used to" অতীত কাল বোঝায়, তাই tag question-এ did ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Other Options:
খ) don’t she?
- বর্তমান বোঝায়, অতীতের "used to" এর সঙ্গে মিল না।

গ) does she?
- এটাও বর্তমান কালের প্রশ্ন, তাই ভুল।

ঘ) won’t she?
-  এটি ভবিষ্যৎ বোঝায়, কিন্তু বাক্যটি অতীতের।

• Tag question এর নিয়মানুযায়ী:
- Tag question -এর subject সর্বদা মূল sentence -এর subject -এর pronoun হয়।
- Tag question গঠনে auxiliary verb ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং auxiliary verb -এর সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ হয়।
- Statement positive হলে tag question টা negative হবে।
- আবার statement negative হলে tag question - positive হবে।
- সাধারণত Tag question ব্যবহৃত হয় পূর্বে উল্লেখিত কোন উক্তি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত হওয়ার জন্য।

- বাক্যে scarcely, barely, rarely, hardly, seldom এগুলো negative অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।
- তাই এদের Tag question টি Affirmative হবে।

- প্রদত্ত Sentence টি present indefinte tense -এ আছে, তাই Auxiliary verb হিসেবে 'does' বসবে।
- অর্থাৎ, Tag question এর নিয়মানুযায়ী বাক্যটি Negative হওয়ায় Tag question টি Affirmative হবে।

- সুতরাং, নিয়মানুযায়ী সঠিক tag question টি হবে- does she?

• Confusing Contraction sentence এর tag question করার নিয়ম:
- যদি subject এরপর 'd থাকে অর্থাৎ, verb টি base form এ আসে, তাহলে এটিকে modal auxiliary হিসেবে would ধরতে হবে।
- Example: If I were a rich man, I'd establish a hospital, wouldn't I?

- তবে 'd এরপরের verb টি যদি past participle form এ থাকে তাহলে তাকে past perfect tense এর had হিসেবে ধরতে হবে।
- Example: I'd reached there in time, hadn't I?

• শূন্যস্থানে সঠিক উত্তর হবে - shall we?

• Tag question এর নিয়মানুযায়ী,

- সাধারণত Tag question ব্যবহৃত হয় পূর্বে উল্লেখিত কোন উক্তি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত হওয়ার জন্য। 
- Subject ও Tense অনুসারে auxiliary verb দ্বারা tag question তৈরি হয়।

Let’s বা Let us থাকলে Tag –এ shall we বসাতে হয়।
যেমন: Let’s play football, shall we?
-Let’s play a chess match, shall we?

• Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Tag question ব্যবহার করা হয় উক্তিটি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য।
- Statement positive হলে tag question টি negative হবে।
- Subject ও tense অনুসারে auxiliary verb দ্বারা tag question হয়।

• "You and I" মিলিয়ে we হয়।
- বাক্যটি past tense (talked), তাই tag হবে didn't।

• সুতরাং tag question হবে: didn't we?

• Complete sentence: You and I talked with Dr. Habib yesterday, didn't we?

Correct answer: didn't he.
Complete sentence: He went to Sylhet last month, didn't he?
- যেহেতু প্রশ্ন প্রদত্ত বাক্যটি affirmative এ আছে, তাই Tag question Negative হবে এবং বাক্যটি past tense হওয়ায় Subject ও Tense অনুসারে Tag question হবে didn't he.

Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- যদি বাক্যটি ইতিবাচক হয়: একটি নেতিবাচক Tag ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
- যদি বাক্যটি নেতিবাচক হয়: একটি ইতিবাচক Tag ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
- যদি কোনো auxiliary verb থাকে (যেমন: is, are, was, were, have, has, had, can, could, will, would), তবে Tag Question এ সেটিই   ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
- নেতিবাচক tag  করার সময়  auxiliary verb এর সাথে 'not' যোগ করা হয় এবং সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ ব্যবহার করা হয়। 
-  auxiliary verb না থাকলে Subject ও Tense অনুসারে do/did/does ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
- Tag question এ বাক্যের প্রধান বিশেষ্যের (noun) পরিবর্তে সর্বনাম (pronoun) ব্যবহার করতে হয়।

Other options:
ক) doesn't he
- যেহেতু প্রশ্ন প্রদত্ত বাক্যটি past tense এ রয়েছে তাই এটি সঠিক নয়।

খ) don't he
- বাক্যটি past tense হওয়ায় Subject ও Tense অনুসারে Tag question হবে didn't he.তাই এটি সঠিক নয়।

গ) isn't he
- auxiliary verb না থাকলে Subject ও Tense অনুসারে do/did/does ব্যবহার করে Tag Question করতে হয়। তাই এটি সঠিক নয়।

• Let যুক্ত imperative sentence এর tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Let এরপর 's থাকেলে বুঝতে হবে যে 's দ্বারা us কে বুঝানো হয়েছে।
- Us এর পরিবর্তে We ব্যবহার করা হয়।
- Tag question এ shall we বসে।

• hardly, scarcely, seldom ইত্যাদি কোনো sentence- এ থাকলে, ওই sentence 'negative' expression দেয়।
- এর ফলে প্রশ্ন প্রদও বাক্যটির tag 'affirmative' হয়েছে।
- অর্থাৎ, Tag question এর নিয়মানুযায়ী বাক্যটি Negative হওয়ায় Tag question Affirmative হয়েছে।

Complete sentence: Everything is ready, isn't it?
- যখন বাক্যের subject হিসেবে "Everything" বা এই ধরনের Indefinite Pronoun (Something, Anything, Nothing) থাকে, তখন Tag question এ subject হিসেবে উপযুক্ত Pronoun 'it' ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• Something/ nothing/ anything/ everything ইত্যাদি Statement-এর subject হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হলে Tag Question-এ Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- সাধারণত Tag question ব্যবহৃত হয় পূর্বে উল্লেখিত কোন উক্তি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত হওয়ার জন্য।
- Statement positive হলে tag question টা negative হবে।
- আবার statement negative হলে tag question positive হবে।

• He hardly drinks tea, does he?

Tag question এর নিয়ম:
- সাধারণত Tag question ব্যবহৃত হয় পূর্বে উল্লেখিত বাক্য সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নির্ণয় করার জন্য।
- Tag question -এর subject সর্বদা মূল sentence-এর subject-এর pronoun হয়।
- Tag question গঠনে auxiliary verb ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং auxiliary verb-এর সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ হয়।  
- Auxiliary verb না থাকলে বাক্যের tense ও person অনুযায়ী Do/Does/Did  ব্যবহৃত হয় ।
- Statement positive হলে tag question টা negative হবে।
- আবার statement negative হলে tag question - positive হবে।

• "Hardly" অর্থ কদাচিৎ বা খুবই কম।
- এখানে "Hardly" শব্দটি ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে, যা negative অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।
- যদি মূল বাক্যটি negative হয়, তাহলে tag question affirmative হবে। যেহেতু "Hardly" এখানে negative প্রকাশ করছে, তাই tag     question হবে affirmative.
- সেই সাথে, বাক্যটি Present Indefinite Tense-এ আছে তাই affirmative tag question এর জন্য does ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে এবং     subject হলো "he".
- সুতরাং, সঠিক উত্তর হবে- does he?

• Complete sentence: She asked me why I spoke.
- এটি একটি Embedded/Indirect question.

- প্রদত্ত বাক্যে main clause 'She asked me' এর পরে why দ্বারা একটি Indirect question করা হয়েছে, তাই subordinate clause -এ assertive এর structure, sub + verb + ext. হবে।

• Embedded/Indirect question এর নিয়মানুযায়ী:
- Wh-word দ্বারা যে subordinate clause শুরু হয় তা কখনোই Interrogative হয় না, সর্বদাই assertive হয়ে থাকে।
- এটি English Grammar এর এমন একটি নিয়ম যেখানে assertive এর গঠন অনুযায়ী wh-word দ্বারা একটি interrogative বা প্রশ্নবোধক বাক্য (indirect question) সন্নিবেশিত করা হয়।

• Embedded question -এর Structure:
- Assertive sentence + subordinate clause + full stop.
- Example: I don't know who he is.

• Complete Sentence: I could hardly hear the music, could I?

• Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- সাধারণত Tag question ব্যবহৃত হয় পূর্বে উল্লেখিত কোন উক্তি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত হওয়ার জন্য।

• Correct Answer: খ) aren't I?

- মূল বাক্য: I am late - এটি একটি affirmative (positive) বাক্য।
- Tag Question গঠনের নিয়ম অনুযায়ী — মূল বাক্য যদি positive হয়, তাহলে tag হবে negative.
- যদিও Subject হলো "I" এবং auxiliary verb "am", তবুও tag হিসেবে amn't I ব্যবহার হয় না।
- এর পরিবর্তে aren’t I ব্যবহার করা হয় - এটি একটি ব্যতিক্রম (exception).
- তাই সঠিক Tag Question হবে: I am late, aren’t I?

Other options:
ক) am I? — এটি affirmative tag, কিন্তু মূল বাক্যও affirmative, তাই ভুল।

গ) amn't I? — এটি grammatically incorrect; standard English-এ নেই।

ঘ) is it? — Subject "I" নয়, "it" ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে, সম্পূর্ণ ভুল।

• Tag question এর ক্ষেত্রে It/There দ্বারা বাক্য শুরু হলে tag এর পর pronoun এর স্থলে There/It ই বসে।

Nothing is impossible, is it?

• Tag question করার নিয়ম-

- তাই সঠিক Tag Question হবে: I’m right, aren’t I?

Other options:
ক) am I? — এটি affirmative tag, কিন্তু মূল বাক্যও affirmative, তাই ভুল।

গ) amn't I? — এটি grammatically incorrect; standard English-এ নেই।

ঘ) is it? — Subject "I" নয়, "it" ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে, সম্পূর্ণ ভুল।

Correct Answer: are they?
- Complete sentence: No one is going to the party, are they?
- Statement টি negative হওয়ায় tag question টি positive হবে।
- 'No one'এর Pronoun হিসেবে 'They' বসায় এখানে They এর পূর্বে verb 'are' বসেছে।

• Tag question এর নিয়ম:
- সাধারণত Tag question ব্যবহৃত হয় পূর্বে উল্লেখিত কোন উক্তি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত হওয়ার জন্য।
- Statement positive হলে tag question টা negative হবে।
- আবার statement negative হলে tag question positive হবে।
- Subject ও Tense অনুসারে auxiliary verb দ্বারা tag question তৈরি হয়।
- যদি কোনো auxiliary verb থাকে (যেমন: is, are, was, were, have, has, had, can, could, will, would), তবে Tag Question এ সেটিই     ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
- নেতিবাচক tag  করার সময়  auxiliary verb এর সাথে 'not' যোগ করা হয় এবং সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ ব্যবহার করা হয়। 
- Auxiliary verb না থাকলে Subject ও Tense অনুসারে do/did/does ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
- Example: She could scarcely understand, could she? 
- Statement negative তাই, tag question টি positive হবে।

• Tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Tag question ব্যবহার করা হয় উক্তিটি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত করার জন্য।
- Statement positive হলে tag question টি negative এবং negative হলে positive হবে।
- Subject ও tense অনুসারে auxiliary verb দ্বারা tag question হয়।

• Let যুক্ত imperative sentence এর tag question করার নিয়ম:
- Let এরপর 's থাকেলে বুঝতে হবে যে 's দ্বারা us কে বুঝানো হয়েছে।
- Us এর পরিবর্তে We ব্যবহার করা হয়।
- Tag question এ shall we বসে।

• Tag question করার নিয়ম:
