Usage of Words as Various Parts of Speech

Hereditary (adjective):
- English Meaning - (of characteristics or diseases) passing from a parent to a child through the genes.
- Bangla Meaning পুত্রপৌত্রাদিক্রমে প্রাপ্ত; পরম্পরাগত; ক্রমায়ত; কৌলিক; বংশানুক্রমিক।

- Aggression in pit bulls is hereditary.
- এই বাক্যে 'hereditary' শব্দটি Aggression (noun) কে modify করছে।
- তাই, এটি একটি Adjective.

◉ The cat climbed down the tree. (বিড়ালটি গাছ থেকে নিচে নেমে এল।)
- এই sentence এ down শব্দটি noun 'the tree' এর পূর্বে বসে বাক্যের অন্যান্য শব্দের সাথে এর সম্পর্ক স্থাপন করছে এবং গতির দিক (নিচের দিকে) বুঝাচ্ছে বিধায় এটি preposition.

• Down (Adverb):

(২) (গতি নির্দেশক ক্রিয়াপদের সঙ্গে) খাড়া অবস্থান থেকে শায়িত অবস্থানে; He is down with flu.

• Down (Adjective):
Meaning - (১) নিম্নস্থানে, বিশেষত ভূতলে: The plane is down.
(২) দিগন্তের নিচে: The sun is down.
(৩) নিচের তলায়: Nobody is down yet.
(৪) নিম্ন স্তরে: Sales are down.

• Down (Verb):
Meaning - (কথ্য) ভূপাতিত বা ধরাশায়ী করা।

• Down (Preposition):
Meaning - (১) নিচে; নিম্নে; নিম্নাভিমুখে; নিচের দিকে।
(২) নিম্নাংশে; দূরবর্তী অংশে; বরাবর: walking down the street.
(৩) স্রোতধারা যেদিকে প্রবাহিত হয় সেদিকে: to go down the river.
(৪) (সময়) অতীত থেকে নিকটবর্তী সময়; down the ages.

• What's that you say?
- In this sentence, “that” is a Pronoun.

- 'that' এখানে demonstrative pronoun হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

Incorporate, (verb intransitive)
English Meaning: To include something within something else.
Bangla Meaning: Incorporate (in/into/with) (১) একীভূত হওয়া; একত্র করা; সংযুক্ত/সংসৃষ্ট করা বা হওয়া: This town was recently incorporated into the kingdom.

Synonyms: Combine (সংযুক্ত করা বা হওয়া), Merge (অঙ্গীভূত করা বা হওয়া), Include (অন্তর্ভুক্ত করা).
Antonyms: Separate (বিচ্ছিন্ন/পৃথক/আলাদা/বিযুক্ত করা বা হওয়া).

- দুটি phrase/clause কে যুক্ত করতে বিভিন্ন অর্থে (if not: unless; that; yet ইত্যাদি অর্থে) But - conjunction হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে।

অন্যদিকে,
ক) He is but a child.
- এখানে 'but' শুধু; কেবল; মাত্র (only) অর্থে adverb হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হহয়েছে।

- English meaning: only; no more than.
- Bangla meaning: শুধু; কেবল; মাত্র।

খ) None but the brave deserve the fair.
- এখানে, 'but' ছাড়া "except" অর্থে noun phrase 'the brave' -এর পূর্বে preposition হিসেবে বসেছে।

- ছাড়া (except; apart from; other than) অর্থে But হলো preposition.
