- যে phrase গুলো sentence-এ adjective-এর মত কাজ করে, অর্থাৎ Noun/Pronoun কে modify করে, সেই phrase গুলোকে Adjective phrase বলে।
- Example: The boy playing with the toy is my brother

খ) Adverbial Phrase:
- যে phrase বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয় adverb-এর মত কাজ করে তাকে Adverbial Phrase বলে ।
- সাধারণত verb-কে কখন (when), কোথায় (where), কেন (why) ও কীভাবে (how) দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে উত্তর হিসেবে যে phrase পাওয়া যায় সেটিই Adverbial phrase.
- যেমন: Last week he received the mail.

ঘ) Verb Phrase:
- যে phrase - verb-এর কাজ করে তাকে Verb Phrase বলে।
- যেমন: We looked for a smart boy.
