• William Wordsworth: 
- William Wordsworth রোমান্টিক যুগের একজন বিখ্যাত কবি। 
- তিনি ‘Poet of Nature’ নামে পরিচিত। 
- তার বিখ্যাত কবিতা The Solitary Reaper (একাকী শস্য আহরণকারী)। 

• তার অন্যান্য কবিতাগুলো হচ্ছে:

- The Excursion,
- The Prelude,
- The Recluse,
- Lucy etc.

• 1798 সাল থেকে 1832 সাল পর্যন্ত সময়কাল কে ইংরেজি সাহিত্যে Romantic Period হিসেবে বিবেচনা করা হয়। 
- ১৭৯৮ সালে William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge এর যৌথ প্রকাশনা Preface to Lyrical Ballads এর মাধ্যমে এই যুগের সুচনা হয়।

• Lyrical Ballads:
- It is a collection of poems.
- It was first published in 1798.
- The Romantic period began with the publication of Lyrical Ballads.
- Lyrical Ballads is a collection of Romantic poems.
- এই কাব্যগ্রন্থটিতে প্রকাশিত কবিতাগুলো বিষয়বস্তুর দিকে যেমন সরল তেমনি শব্দের ব্যবহারের দিক দিয়েও উচ্চাঙ্গের কিছু না।
- অন্যভাবে বললে, এই কবিতাগুলো অলংকার বিবর্জিত এবং কৃত্রিমতা বিহীন।
- সাধারণ মানুষের মুখে যে ভাষা প্রচলিত ছিল সেসব শব্দই তিনি এই কবিতাতে ব্যবহার করেন।
- Lyrical Ballads এ মোট 23 টি কবিতা রয়েছে। 
- তার মধ্যে 19 টি William Wordsworth ও 4 টি S.T. Coleridge এর।

• The Excursion:
- "The Excursion" William Wordsworth এর একটি দীর্ঘ বর্ণনামূলক কবিতা, যা প্রথম প্রকাশিত হয় 1814 সালে।
- কবিতাটির প্রতিটি চরিত্র জীবনের বিভিন্ন দর্শন, সমাজ এবং আধ্যাত্মিকতার ভিন্ন ভিন্ন দৃষ্টিভঙ্গি তুলে ধরে।
- কবিতার পটভূমি ইংল্যান্ডের Lake District, যা চরিত্রগুলোর ভাবনার প্রেক্ষাপট এবং প্রেরণার উৎস হিসেবে কাজ করে।
- পুরো কবিতায় মানুষের জীবন, প্রকৃতির চিকিৎসাশক্তি, এবং কল্পনা ও স্মৃতির ভূমিকা নিয়ে গভীর দার্শনিক আলোচনা রয়েছে।

• William Wordsworth (1770-1850):
- William Wordsworth একজন ইংরেজ কবি ছিলেন।
- তিনি ইংরেজি সাহিত্যের Romantic Period এর একজন অন্যতম কবি।
- তিনি স্যামুয়েল টেইলর কোলরিজের সঙ্গে মিলিত হয়ে Lyrical Ballads (১৭৯৮) রচনা করেন, যা ইংরেজি রোমান্টিক আন্দোলনের সূচনা করে।
- Lyrical Ballads এর দ্বিতীয় সংস্করণের (১৮০০) ভূমিকায় তিনি যে নীতিমালা ব্যাখ্যা করেন, তা ছিল বিপ্লবাত্মক।
- Wordsworth সাধারণ মানুষের জীবনের ঘটনা ও পরিস্থিতি নিয়ে কবিতা লিখতে চেয়েছিলেন এবং সেই কবিতাগুলোতে সাধারণ মানুষের ব্যবহৃত ভাষা প্রয়োগের চেষ্টা করেছিলেন।
- এর মাধ্যমে তারা ইংরেজি ভাষার সাহিত্যকে আমূল পরিবর্তন করেন।
