- Bangla meaning: এটি এত কঠিন একটি কাজ ছিল যে লিজা একা শেষ করতে পারেনি।

• বাক্যে Such ............that দ্বারা কারণ ও ফলাফল বুঝায়।
- এ ধরনে বাক্যের সঠিক structure হলো: such + a/an + adjective + noun + that...
- "such" এর পরে article "a/an" প্রয়োজন।

- এখানে "such a difficult job" কারণ বোঝাচ্ছে যা "that" clause এর সাথে সম্পর্কিত (result clause), যার ফলে একটি নির্দিষ্ট পরিণতি হয় - that Liza couldn't finish it alone.

- সুতরাং, শূন্যস্থানে সঠিক উত্তর হবে- গ) such a difficult job.

If + subject + simple past tense….. + would/should/might + verb (simple form).
অতএব সূত্রানুযায়ী শূন্যস্থানে lived বসবে।

- সঠিক উত্তর:  "She has been working here since five years."

• "Since" সময়ের শুরু বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয় (যেমন: since 2010),
কিন্তু সময়ের পরিমাণ (five years) বোঝাতে "for" ব্যবহার করতে হয়।সুতরাং, বাক্যটি Gramatically ভুল।

বাক্যটি সঠিক।

• She worked here five years ago. (Grammatically correct but changes meaning)
বাক্যটি সঠিক কিন্তু অন্য অর্থ বুঝায়।

• She had worked here for five years. (Correct but past perfect tense)
বাক্যটি সঠিক কিন্তু কালের পরিবর্তন করেছে।

Set out (phrasal verb): 
English Meaning - To start an activity with a particular aim. 
Bangla Meaning - (যাত্রা, উদ্যোগ) শুরু করা।

Given options, 
ক) She set out to learn a new language over the summer break.
- এখানে 'set out' এর যথার্থ প্রয়োগ ঘটেছে। 
- অর্থ: সে গ্রীশ্মের ছুটিতে নতুন ভাষা শিখার উদ্যোগ নিয়েছে।

খ) She set out across the room. 
- এখানে, 'set out' এর ভুল প্রয়োগ ঘটেছে। 
- Correct Sentence: She walked across the room.

গ) She set out the table. 
- এখানে, 'set out' এর ভুল প্রয়োগ ঘটেছে। 
- Correct Sentence: She set the table.

ঘ) She set out her wedding plans last month. 
- এখানে, 'set out' এর ভুল প্রয়োগ ঘটেছে। 
- Correct Sentence: She made her wedding plans last month.

• Correct Sentence: The climate of Nepal is colder than that of Bangladesh.

• দুটি Noun এর মধ্যে তুলনা করার সময় পূর্বের Noun এর পুনরাবৃত্তি পরিহার করতে Uncountable Noun এর পরিবর্তে that of এবং Plural Countable Noun এর পরিবর্তে those of ব্যবহৃত হয়।

- অন্যভাবে বলা যায়, কোনো Comparative sentence এর প্রথম অংশ যদি The + Noun + of + Noun হয়, তবে verb এর পরের অংশ হবে than + that/ those of হবে।

(ঘ) দুটি Noun এর মধ্যে তুলনা করার সময় পূর্বের Noun এর পুনরাবৃত্তি পরিহার করতে হবে। তাই Sentence টিতে The climate of Nepal, Uncountable Noun কে বুঝায় তাই এখানে than Bangladesh’s climate এর পরিবর্তে than that of Bangladesh হবে।

Elastic (adjective)
- English Meaning: capable of recovering size and shape after deformation.
- Bangla Meaning: নমনীয় ও স্থিতিস্থাপক।

- Elastic পদার্থ এমন যা টানলে বা চাপে বিকৃত হয়, কিন্তু চাপ বা টান সরানোর পর আসল আকারে ফিরে আসে।

অন্য অপশনগুলো ভুল কারণ:
খ) melt easily : গলনযোগ্যতা নির্দেশ করে, elasticity নয়।

গ) conduct electricity : বৈদ্যুতিক পরিবাহিতা নির্দেশ করে, elasticity নয়।

ঘ) absorb water : জল শোষণ করার ক্ষমতা নির্দেশ করে, elasticity নয়।

As if / as though এর পূর্বে present indefinite tense থাকলে as if / as though এর পরে past indefinite/perfect tense হয় এবং be verb থাকলে সবসময় were হয়।
যেমন:
- He talks as if he knew everything.
- He talks as if he were my boss.
- Ross always sounds as if he's drunk.

• Article এর ব্যবহার সাধারণত pronunciation বা উচ্চারণের উপর নির্ভরশীল।
- কোনো word এর শুরুতে যদি consonant letter থাকে তবে তার পূর্বে article হিসেবে a বসে।
- কিন্তু Consonant এর উচ্চারণ vowel এর মত হলে a না হয়ে an হবে। যেমন: an FBI.
- FBI শব্দটি উচ্চারণ শুরু হয় ‘a’ vowel sound দিয়ে শুরু।
- ইংরেজিতে vowel sound দিয়ে শুরু হওয়া শব্দের আগে “an” ব্যবহার করা হয়।

• And দ্বারা যুক্ত sentence এ যদি subject একই ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুকে বুঝায় তবে তাদের verb ও pronoun singular হয়।
- Example: The Headmaster and Secretary is present in the meeting.

• আবার, And দ্বারা যুক্ত sentence এ যদি subject একই ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুকে না বুঝিয়ে ভিন্ন দুটি ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুকে বুঝায় তখন তাদের verb ও pronoun plural হয়। 
- Sub দুটি ব্যক্তি এটি বুঝার সহজ উপায় হলো Subject বা Noun এর পূর্বে Article আছে কিনা তা লক্ষ্য রাখা।
- Noun দুটি ভিন্ন হলে noun দুটির আগে the থাকবে।
-Example: The Headmaster and the Secretary are present in the meeting.

• And দ্বারা যুক্ত হয়েও যদি noun-গুলি একই অর্থ প্রকাশ করে তখন verb টি singular হয়ে থাকে। 
- Example: Bread and butter is my favourite breakfast. 

• প্রদত্ত sentence টিতে The captain and the manager দ্বারা দুটি ভিন্ন ভিন্ন ব্যক্তিকে বুঝাছে।
- কারণ captain এবং manager এর আগে Article (the) ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে এবং এখানে plural verb বসবে।
- sentence এর শেষে yesterday's team meeting থাকায় বুঝা যাচ্ছে এটা past indefinite tense কে বুঝাছে।
- তাই এখানে are না হয়ে were বসবে।

• Complete Sentence: The captain and the manager were absent at yesterday's team meeting.

Feed (verb-transitive), (verb intransitive)
(১) feed (on) - খাওয়ানো; খাদ্য জোগানো।
feed oneself মুখে খাবার তোলা।
feed up - বাড়তি খাবার দেওয়া; পুষ্টিবর্ধক খাবার দেওয়া: The sick boy needs feeding up.
be feed up (with) (লাক্ষণিক) (কোনো ব্যাপারে অত্যন্ত বিরক্ত হওয়া; চরম হতাশ হওয়া।
feeding bottle (noun) মাইপোষ।
(২) feed to কোনো প্রাণীকে খাবার হিসেবে দেওয়া; to feed meat to dogs.
(৩) (প্রাণীদের ক্ষেত্রে) খাদ্য গ্রহণ করা; খাওয়া।
(৪) feed on খেয়ে বেঁচে থাকা: The cow feeds chiefly on the grass.
(৫) রসদ জোগানো; প্রয়োজনীয় উপকরণ সরবরাহ করা: This lake is fed by two rivers.

• It is no use যুক্ত sentence কে complete করার নিয়ম:-
- it is of no use (it’s no use doing something) এর পরে কোনো preposition/infinitive বা অন্য কিছু বসে না।
- এরপর সরাসরি verb আসে এবং এর সাথে ing যুক্ত হয়।

• Correct sentence: It's no use talking to her.

• More examples: 
- It's no use resisting change; it's inevitable.
- It's no use calling him now—his phone is off.
- It's no use crying over spilled milk
- It's no use locking the door now
- It's no use trying again
- It's no use arguing with a drunk.

• Correct sentence: I would rather you helped me with this problem.
- Bangla: বরং তুমি যদি এই সমস্যায় আমাকে সাহায্য করতে।

- would rather -এর পরে different subject বসে বর্তমান/ ভবিষ্যতের কথা নির্দেশ করতে verb এর past simple form ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- প্রদত্ত বাক্যে, I would rather এরপর দ্বিতীয় subject হিসাবে you এসেছে এবং ভবিষ্যতের কথা নির্দেশ করছে তাই verb এর simple past form হবে।

Structure:
• Would rather + same subject + base form of verb.
• Would rather + different subject + past simple/ past perfect form of verb.

• সাধারণত Would rather/ Had better এর পরে Verb এর Present form হয়।
- যেমন
- I would rather die than let you go.
- You had better finish your homework.
- I’d rather stay at home than go out tonight.
 
• কিন্তু subject + would rather এবং এরপর যদি আরেকটি subject আসে, তাহলে verb এর past indefinite অথবা past perfect tense হয়।
• I would rather you + the simple past - is a sentence structure you can use to express your preference about what somebody does in a specific present or future event.
- যেমন -
- I’d rather you stayed at home tonight.
- I’d rather you didn’t go out tonight.

• আবার, 
•  I would rather you + the past perfect - is a sentence structure that allows you to express your preference over a situation that occurred in the past.
- Example: I would rather you hadn’t called him and told him I was late.

- সরাসরি Object বসে।
- কিছু কিছু Transitive verb হলো: reach, resemble, violate, discuss, resign, sign, investigate, recommend, order, command, enter ইত্যাদি।

• Resign একটি Transitive verb তাই এরপর কোন Preposition বসে না।

• Correct sentence: He wants to resign the post.

• উল্লিখিত বাকি অপশনগুলোতে Resign (verb) এরপর Preposition (from, to, on) এর ব্যবহার হয়েছে যার জন্য sentence গুলো ভুল।

ক) quixotic:
- উচ্চ অথচ অলীক আদর্শের অনুগামী; খামখেয়ালি; আপন স্বার্থ সম্পর্কে অসচেতন; পরোপকারী। 

খ) pragmatic:
- ব্যবহারিক ফল ও মূল্য সম্বন্ধীয়; সবকিছু প্রয়োগসিদ্ধতার দিক থেকে বিবেচনা করে এমন; কার্যসিদ্ধিমূলক; কার্যসাধনাত্মক; প্রয়োগবাদী; ব্যবহারবাদী। 

গ) feasible:
- (১) সম্ভব; যা করা যেতে পারে: This plan is not feasible. এ পরিকল্পনা বাস্তবায়নযোগ্য নয়। (২) (কথ্য) বিশ্বাসযোগ্য; আপাতদৃষ্টিতে যুক্তিসঙ্গত: His story sounds quite feasible. তার কাহিনি বিশ্বাসযোগ্য বলে মনে হয়। 

ঘ) utilitarian:
- সত্য, সুন্দর ও কল্যাণের চেয়ে উপযোগিতার উপর অধিক গুরুত্ব আরোপ করে এমন; উপযোগবাদী। 

অপশন বিবেচনা করে দেখা যায়, শূন্যস্থানে pragmatic বসালে বাক্যটি পরিপূর্ণ হয়।

 Complete sentence: Although the plan seemed pragmatic, it turned out to be entirely impractical.

Bangla: পরিকল্পনাটি যদিও বাস্তবসম্মত মনে হয়েছিল, কিন্তু পরে দেখা গেল এটি সম্পূর্ণ অবাস্তব।

• সঠিক বাক্যটি হবে - I would have joined the meeting, but I wasn’t informed in time.

• We use would with the perfect to refer to something that did not happen in the past.
- অর্থাৎ, অতীতে ঘটেনি এমন কিছু উল্লেখ করতে আমরা would এর সাথে present perfect tense (have/has + V₃) ব্যবহার করি।
-  সেক্ষেত্রে, প্রথম clause টি present perfect হলে এরপরের অংশে past indefinite ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• নিয়মানুযায়ী একমাত্র সঠিক বাক্য:
- I would have joined the meeting, but I wasn’t informed in time.
- এই বাক্যে অতীতে ঘটেনি কিন্তু ঘটতে পারতো এমন কাজ নির্দেশ করছে।
- সে অনুযায়ী, প্রথম clause টি would + present perfect ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে এবং দ্বিতীয় clause এ past indefinite ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।
- এছাড়া বাক্যটি passive sense প্রকাশ করছে বিধায় এখানে informed হয়েছে (যখন বাক্যে কিছু passive বোঝানো হয় অর্থাৎ, কাজটি কারো দ্বারা সম্পন্ন হচ্ছে বা হয়েছে বুঝায় তখন informed, given, told ইত্যাদি ব্যবহার করা হয়)।

• আবার, 
- Third conditional এর নিয়মানুযায়ী -
- If + Past Perfect (had +V3) + Perfect Modal (S + would have/could have/might have + V3) অথবা
- Had + Subject + Past Participle দ্বারা কোন Conditional sentence শুরু হলে এর অপর sentence perfect conditional.

• সে অনুযায়ী, 
 - Third conditional এর নিয়মানুযায়ী ক) এবং গ) বাক্যদ্বয় ভুল।
- সঠিক বাক্যদ্বয় হবে - Had I been informed in time, I wouldn't have missed the meeting.

• আবার, 
- খ) বাক্যের ২য় অংশে যেহেতু passive sense প্রকাশ করছে তাই was এরপর informed ব্যবহার করলে বাক্যটি সঠিক হত।

• 'to be' এবং 'having 'এর পর মূল verb এর Past participle হয়। 
- forget (ভুলে যাওয়া) এর past participle হচ্ছে forgotten. 
- Active voice এ 'having' ব্যবহৃত হয় যখন কর্তা নিজে কাজ করে।
- আর passive voice এ ব্যবহৃত হয় যখন ক্রিয়া দ্বারা কর্তার অবস্থা নির্দেশিত হয়। 

Example: 
- The thief ran away having taken the ornaments. 
- The principal desired the notice to be hung. 

Complete Sentence - He left the house, having forgotten his keys on the kitchen counter.

• The incorrect sentence is - ঘ) The teacher gave much advices before the exam.

• এই বাক্যটিতে determiner -এর misuse করা হয়েছে, কারণ much advices না হয়ে much advice হলে সঠিক হতো।
- advice একটি uncountable noun, তাই এর plural হয় না।
- এটিকে plural করতে হলে সঠিক determiner বসিয়ে plural করতে হয়।
- যেমন: two pieces of advice, a lot of advice, some advice, etc.
- সঠিক বাক্যটি হবে- The teacher gave much advice before the exam.

Other options:
(ক) She needs some information before making a decision. 
- "Some" সঠিক determiner, যা uncountable noun "information" -কে determine করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে। 
- Some (কিছু/সামান্য পরিমাণ) countable/uncountable noun উভয়কে determine করে।

(খ) They have plenty of reasons to celebrate.
- "Plenty of" সঠিক determiner, যা countable noun "reasons" কে determine করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।
- Plenty of (প্রচুর; অঢেল) যা countable/uncountable noun উভয়কে determine করে।

গ) There is little hope for success.
- "Little" সঠিক determiner, যা uncountable noun "hope" -কে determine করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।
- Little (নগণ্য; নাই বললেই চলে) শুধু uncountable noun -এর পূর্বে বসে।

• সুতরাং, ভুল বাক্যটি হলো: (ঘ) The teacher gave much advices before the exam.

Correct answer: contumacious.
Complete sentence: These contumacious students were a burden for the school authority.
Bangla meaning: এই অবাধ্য ছাত্ররা স্কুল কর্তৃপক্ষের জন্য বোঝাস্বরূপ।

- English Meaning: Refusing to obey or respect the law in a way that shows contempt.
- Bangla Meaning: অবাধ্য; একগুঁয়ে; বেপরোয়া।

ক) Docile
- English Meaning: easily taught.
- Bangla Meaning: শেখানো যায় এমন।

খ) Ruly
- English Meaning: obedient, orderly.
- Bangla Meaning: সংযত।

গ) Submissive 
- English Meaning: submitting to others.
- Bangla Meaning: আজ্ঞাবহ।

• শূন্যস্থানে সঠিক উত্তর হবে - is.
- Complete sentence: Fifty dollars is all I have left in my wallet.

• একই দৈর্ঘ্য, পরিমাণ, বা স্থান বুঝালে Subject plural হলেও verb টি singular হবে। 
- Ten thousand dollars / Fifty miles ইত্যাদি যদি একক time, money, distance কে বুঝায় তাহলে সেটি সবসময় singular হয়।

Examples:
- Twenty-five dollars is too much to pay for that shirt.
- Two miles is too much to run in one day.
- Fifty minutes isn't enough time to finish this test.

Reflect on - কোন কিছু নিয়ে ভাবা।
যেহেতু শূন্যস্থানের পর on something (on your actions) আছে এবং reflect বসালে বাক্যের অর্থ সঠিক দিচ্ছে তাই শূণ্যস্থানে reflect শব্দটিই যথাযথ।
Correct Sentence: You must reflect on your actions and make sure that you are doing the right thing.
বাক্যের অর্থঃ তোমাকে অবশ্যই তোমার কর্মকান্ড নিয়ে ভাবতে হবে এবং নিশ্চিত করতে হবে যে তুমি সঠিক জিনিসটিই করেছ।

Live (verb intransitive), (verb transitive)
(১) জীবনধারণ করা; জীবনযাপন করা।
(২) বেঁচে থাকা; জীবিত থাকা; বাঁচা।
live by কোন উপায়ে বেঁচে থাকা।
live on বাঁচতে থাকা।
live through অভিজ্ঞতা অর্জনের মাধ্যমে বেঁচে থাকা বা টিকে থাকা।
You/We live and learn তােমাকে আমাকে আরাে কত অভিনব বিষয় দেখতে হবে শুনতে হবে।
