বাক্যটির অর্থ- রোগীর খাদ্যাভাসের পর্যালোচনা থেকে দেখা গেছে যে ডায়েটে ভিটামিন-বি এর অভাব ছিল।
Lacking- অভাব।
Absorb- শুষে নেওয়া।
Overlay- অতিমাত্রায়।
তাই, শূন্যস্থানে lacking বসবে।

• Relative Pronoun:
- দুটি বাক্যকে (clause বা বাক্যাংশ) সংযোগ করতে Relative Pronoun (who, which, whose, whom, that, ইত্যাদি) ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- Gap (শূন্যস্থান) -এর পরে noun/pronoun থাকলে এবং এর পূর্বে (antecedent টি) things/animal (বস্তু) থাকলে Gap -এ which/that বসে।
- উল্লিখিত বাক্যে Gap এর পূর্বে things 'the book' আছে , তাই নিয়মানুযায়ী Gap -এ which/that বসবে।

- যে জিনিসটি বা জিনিসগুলো (the thing(s) that) অর্থে pronoun হিসেবে what বসে।

as well as, in addition to, including, with, along with, together with দ্বারা একাধিক noun/pronoun যুক্ত থাকলে প্রথম noun/pronoun অনুযায়ী verb হয়। এবং বাক্যটি যেহেতু present form এ আছে সেক্ষেত্রে এখানে is হবে যৌক্তিক উত্তর।

Correct answer: were
- Complete sentence: A number of dogs were barking.
- "A number of" বাক্যের subject হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হওয়ায় plural verb হিসেবে were বসবে।

• A number of quantifier টি যখন বাক্যের subject হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয় তখন পরবর্তী Noun এবং Verb উভয়ই Plural হয়।
- A number of যখন বাক্যের subject:

অতীত কালে দুটি কাজ সম্পন্ন হয়ে থাকলে তাদের মধ্যে যেটি আগে ঘটেছিল তা Past perfect tense হয় এবং যেটি পরে হয়েছিল তা simple past tense হয়।
Structure:
1st subject + had + verb এর past participle + 2nd subject + verb এর past form +2nd object.
Example:
- আমি ভাত খাওয়ার পূর্বে সে বাড়ি আসল – He had come home before I ate rice.
Or, Before he had come, I ate rice.

• Correct sentence: The report was prepared by the committee members before submission to the principal.

• Bangla Meaning: প্রতিবেদনটি প্রধান শিক্ষককে জমা দেওয়ার আগে কমিটির সদস্যদের দ্বারা প্রস্তুত করা হয়েছিল।

- কোনো কাজ বা কাজের ফলাফল কারো দ্বারা করা হয়েছে বোঝাতে “prepared by” ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
- prepared of বা prepared from ব্যবহার করা হয় না।
- তাই সঠিক phrase হলো prepared by.

• যখন দুয়ের মাঝে বুঝাবে তখন between হয়।
- আবার দুয়ের অধিক বুঝালে among হয়ে থাকে।

বাক্যে দুইজন -র মাঝে cake ভাগ করে দেওয়া হয়েছে।
সুতরাং between হচ্ছে সঠিক উত্তর।

• One of, Each of, Either of, Neither of এর পরে plural noun বা pronoun এবং singular verb বসে।
- Each দ্বারা প্রত্যেকটিকে আলাদাভাবে বুঝানো হয়।
- Either দ্বারা দুইয়ের প্রত্যেকটি বুঝানো হয়।
- Neither দ্বারা দুইয়ের কোনটিই নয় বুঝানো হয়।

• Structure: Each of + plural noun + singular verb.

• More Example:
- Each of the students is prepared.
- Each of the players on the team wears a numbered jersey.

Other options,
ক) Each of the question in the exam was difficult.
→ এটি ভুল। 
→ এখানে question singular দেওয়া আছে। 

খ) Each of the questions in the exam were difficult.

→ noun (questions) ঠিক আছে, কিন্তু verb were plural, তাই ভুল।

ঘ) Each of the questions in the exam have been difficult. 
→ এটি ভুল। 
→ verb have been plural, যা ভুল।

Treat ''either'' and ''neither'' as singular. Subject of the sentence is ‘either’ so verb is to be ‘is’ instead of ‘are’.

• সঠিক উত্তর হবে - Eight gallons of paint were necessary for the painting.

এখানে emphasis হলো ৮টি আলাদা paint-can।
- প্রতিটা gallon যেন আলাদা unit হিসেবে দেখা হচ্ছে।

Insist on/upon/ Insist on doing something:
- To keep doing something, even if it annoys other people, or people think it is not good for you.
- বাংলায়, কোনো কিছুতে জোর দেয়া বা পীড়াপীড়ি করা  ।
- Insist on/upon এর সাথে verb এর -ing form বসে।

যেমন:
- He insisted on my going there.
- She insists on doing everything her own way.
- He insisted on seeing her.

article ‘a’ বসে consonant (Vowel পাঁচটি ছাড়া বাকিগুলো) যুক্ত শব্দের শুরুতে।
article ‘an’ বসে vowel (a, e, I, o, u) যুক্ত শব্দের শুরুতে।

বি:দ্র: ‘a ও ‍an’ বসানোর ক্ষেত্রে প্রথম শব্দের উচ্চারণই মুখ্য।
অর্থাৎ প্রথম উচ্চারণটি যদি vowel এর হয়। তাহলে an হবে।
আর যদি প্রথম উচ্চারণটি consonant এর হয় তাহলে a হবে।

O দ্বারা শুরু সকল শব্দের পূর্বে ‍an বসবে। শুধু one এর পূর্বে ‍a বসবে।
তাই সঠিক বাক্য - It is a universal truth that the earth moves round the sun.

• The Number of + Plural Noun + Singular Verb হয়।
- যেমন -

Other options,

খ) have increased → "number" singular, তাই "have" ভুল।

গ) have been increasing → continuous tense এখানে প্রয়োজন নেই, সাধারণ বৃদ্ধি বোঝানো হয়েছে।

ঘ) were increasing → past continuous tense, "since" এর সাথে মানায় না।

• Relative pronoun (who, whom, which, what, when, whose, how, that) থাকলে Antecedent (Relative pronoun এর পূর্বের Noun/pronoun) অনুযায়ী verb বসে।
• তাই উপরের বাক্যে Antecedent ‘you’ থাকায় are বসবে।

“who” এর পরের verb (are) subject অনুযায়ী পরিবর্তিত হয়।
এখানে "you" হলো subject, তাই verb হবে "are", কারণ “you” সবসময় are এর সঙ্গে ব্যবহৃত হয় (not is or am).

Since এর ব্যবহার: 
- Since এর প্রথম অংশ Present Indefinite বা Present Perfect Tense হলে পরের অংশে Past Indefinite tense হবে।
- আবার, Since এর প্রথম অংশ Past Indefinite tense হলে পরের অংশে Past Perfect tense হবে।

Examples: 
- It is so long since I saw them.
- It was long since I had seen her last.

• Correct Sentence: Each of the students is required to submit the assignment by Friday.
- Each of যদি subject হিসেবে ব্যবহার হলে এরপরে সব সময় Plural Noun (students) বসে এবং 'Each' singular হওয়ায় Verb Singular হবে।

• উল্লিখিত বাকি অপশনগুলো,
(ক) Police একটি Plural noun যা দেখতে singular মনে হয়। তাই Plural verb (are) ব্যবহার করতে হবে।

(খ) One of যদি subject হিসেবে ব্যবহার হলে এরপরে সব সময় Plural Noun (children) বসে এবং 'Each' singular হওয়ায় Verb Singular হবে।

Since subordinate clause start with though so, the meaning of the clauses contrast to each other.
Only option A has a contrasted pair.

• Correct sentence: She has less jewelry than her sister.

• Determiner এর নিয়ম অনুসারে,
- Uncountable noun এর পূর্বে little/ less/ least ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- এখানে 'jewelry' হলো- uncountable noun এবং বাক্যটি তুলনা বুঝাচ্ছে বিধায় "little" এর comparative form "less" বসবে।

• উল্লিখিত বাকি অপশনগুলো,
ক) She has fewer jewelry than her sister.
- 'Fewer' ব্যবহৃত হয় countable noun এর তুলনা বুঝালে। আর এখানে fewer হলো uncountable noun. তাই, এটি ভুল।

খ) She has most jewelry than her sister.
- 'most' comparative structure এ নয় superlative এর ক্ষেত্রে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

গ) She has little jewelry than her sister.
- 'little' হলো- positive form, কিন্তু comparative structure -এ "little" -এর comparative form "less/ lesser" ব্যবহৃত হবে।

সঠিক উত্তর: ক) for both.
- 'admired for' মানে হলো কোনও কারণে প্রশংসা করা।
- “both” দিয়ে বোঝানো হচ্ছে eloquence এবং clarity উভয়ের জন্য।
Complete sentence: The speaker is admired for both his eloquence and clarity.

• "Admire" verb এর পরে সবসময় "for" preposition ব্যবহার করতে হয় যখন কারণ বা গুণ বোঝানো হয়।
- অর্থাৎ কাউকে কোন কিছুর জন্য প্রশংসা করা বা শ্রদ্ধা করা।
- Structure: be admired + for + quality/reason.

সেই অনুযায়ী উল্লিখিত অন্য অপশন গুলো এখানে ভুল।

সঠিক উত্তর হলো – ঘ) he worries.

• এখানে “Why” দিয়ে শুরু হওয়া বাক্যটি indirect question.
- Indirect question এ সরাসরি does / did / should ব্যবহার করা হয় না।

ক) does he worry - এটি question form, কিন্তু এখানে indirect statement দরকার।

খ) he did worry - Past tense, কিন্তু এখানে present habit বোঝানো হচ্ছে।

• Adhere to:
English meaning: to stick firmly.
Bangla meaning: দৃঢ়ভাবে লেগে থাকা, সেঁটে থাকা।

• Appropriate preposition এর ক্ষেত্রে,
- Adhere এর সাথে 'দৃঢ়ভাবে লেগে থাকা' অর্থ বুঝাতে to বসে।
- এই বাক্যটির ক্ষেত্রে to বসালে বাক্যটির অর্থ পরিপূর্ণ হয়।
- তাই এই বাক্যে preposition হিসেবে to বসবে।

• সাধারণত ভগ্নাংশের ক্ষেত্রে প্রথমটি one এর বেশি হলে দ্বিতীয়টির সঙ্গে ‘s’ যোগ হয় যেমন- two-thirds.
- কিন্তু প্রথমটি one হলে দ্বিতীয়টির সঙ্গে ‘s’ যোগ হয় না যেমন- one-third.
- আবার সব ধরনের ভগ্নাংশের পরে noun - singular হলে verb - singular এবং noun - plural হলে verb - plural হয়।

- ভুল কারণ, ভগ্নাংশের পরে noun - singular হলে verb - singular এবং noun - plural হলে verb - plural হয়।

- ভুল কারণ, ভগ্নাংশের প্রথমটি one হলে দ্বিতীয়টির সঙ্গে ‘s’ যোগ হয় না।

বাক্যের অর্থ: মাঝে মাঝে আইন প্রয়োগকারী সংস্থাগুলোর নিষ্ঠুরতা অপরাধীদেরকেও হার মানায়।
The cruelty of the law-enforcing agencies এখানে Subject হয়েছে। তবে এর মধ্যে Head-word হচ্ছে cruelty।
আর এটা যেহেতু Singular, তাই Verb-ও Singular হবে। আর sometimes থাকার কারণে বাক্যটি Present Indefinite Tense হবে।
তাই সঠিক উত্তর হবে Surpasses.

- Bangla meaning: সাক্ষী বিচার চলাকালীন ঘটনাটি স্পষ্টভাবে স্মরণ করেছে।

অপশনগুলোর অর্থ:
• recalled : স্মরণ করা বা মনে আনা।
• deprived : বঞ্চিত করা।
• sustained : ধৈর্য ধরে কোনও অসুবিধা সহ্য করা; সমর্থন করা।
• modified : সংশোধন করা বা পরিবর্তন করা।

- Bangla Meaning - অধিক রাত পর্যন্ত জেগে কাজ করা।

- এই বাক্যটি ভুল কারণ এতে tense-এর সামঞ্জস্যতা (tense agreement) নেই।
• "was designed" - Past tense.
- "yields" → Present tense.
- একই বাক্যে দুই ভিন্ন tense (past + present) একসাথে ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে "and" দিয়ে যুক্ত করে, যা parallel structure ভঙ্গ করেছে।
- একই বাক্যে দুটি verb একই সময়কাল নির্দেশ করছে, তাই তাদের একই tense-এ হওয়া উচিত।

Parallelism Rule: যখন একই বাক্যে দুই বা ততোধিক অংশ "and", "but", "or" ইত্যাদি দিয়ে যুক্ত করা হয়, তখন সেই অংশগুলোর গঠন একই রকম (parallel) হতে হবে। 

এর মধ্যে সবচেয়ে গুরুত্বপূর্ণ:

- Tense একই রাখতে হবে।
- Part of speech একই রাখতে হবে (দুই পাশে adjective, দুই পাশে noun, দুই পাশে verb ইত্যাদি)।

- present perfect tense সঠিকভাবে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

খ) The author argues that earlier researchers misunderstood the phenomenon.
- present tense "argues" এবং past tense "misunderstood" সঠিক, কারণ লেখক বর্তমানে যুক্তি দিচ্ছেন যে গবেষকরা অতীতে ভুল বুঝেছিলেন।

ঘ) The findings suggested that further research was necessary.
- উভয় verb-ই past tense এ আছে, সামঞ্জস্যপূর্ণ।

The proper sequence should be: RSPQ.

• Lie (Verb):
- English Meaning: To be or to stay at rest in a horizontal position.
- Bangla Meaning: শয়ন করা; শোয়া।

- 'Lie' - এর past form হলো 'Lay'.
- Past participle হলো - lain এবং present participle হলো - lying.

- প্রদত্ত বাক্যের শেষে ’yesterday’ রয়েছে, তাই verb টি past tense (lay) এ হবে।
- 'Lie' এখানে শোয়া অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

• আবার, মিথ্যা বলা অর্থে Lie (verb) - এর past form হলো 'lied' এবং Past participle হলো lying.

• Other options,
ক) The child lain on the sofa yesterday evening.
- ভুল। কারণ, lain হলো Lie (শয়ন করা; শোয়া) এর past participle form. কিন্তু sentence টিতে yesterday থাকায় এখানে Lie এর past form Lay হবে।

গ) The child lied on the sofa yesterday evening.
- ভুল। কারণ, lied হলো Lie (মিথ্যা বলা) এর past form. কিন্তু এখানে বাচ্চাটি সোফাতে শুয়ে আছে বুঝানো হয়েছে তাই এখানে lied হবে না।

ঘ) The child lying on the sofa yesterday evening.
- ভুল। কারণ, lying হলো Lie (মিথ্যা বলা) এর past participle form. কিন্তু এখানে বাচ্চাটি সোফাতে শুয়ে আছে বুঝানো হয়েছে তাই এখানে lying হবে না।

এখানে “drive” হলো bare infinitive, “let” এর পরে বসানো হয়েছে।

•  Infinitive হচ্ছে verb এর base form অথবা to + base form.
• Infintive দুই রকম হতে পারে-
১. To-যুক্ত Infinitive এবং
২. To-বিহীন infinitive বা Bare Infinitive.

• Let-এর পরে Verb-এর Bare Infinitive (to-বিহীন infinitive form) বসে।
- তাই, drive verb-টি to-বিহীন infinitive form বসবে।

• Let-এর পরে Verb-এর Bare Infinitive (to-বিহীন infinitive form) বসে। তাই নিয়মানুযায়ী অন্য অপশন গুলো ভুল।

Other options,  

খ) She let her brother to drive her car. → ভুল, কারণ “to” ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে।

গ) She let her brother drived her car. → ভুল, কারণ “drived” হলো ভুল অতীতকাল।

ঘ) She let her brother driving her car. → ভুল, কারণ “driving” ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে, যা বেস ফর্ম নয়।

• The correct sentence is: ঘ) She asked Jowel if he had eaten rice.

- asked আছে এইজন্য পরবর্তী clause টি if/wh word দ্বারা শুরু হবে এবং asked -এর object অনুসারে পরবর্তী clause-এর subject হবে।
- আবার প্রথম clause -টি past indefinite tense হওয়ায় পরবর্তী clause টি past perfect হবে।
- কারণ, এটি Reported speech যা third person -এ বলা হয়েছে।

• অন্যদিকে,
ক) She asked Jowel if she will eat rice.
- if এর পরবর্তী clause টি ভুল।

খ) She told Jowel that he has eaten rice.
- এখানে had eaten হবে।

গ) She asked Jowel did he eat rice.
- 'did he eat rice' এটি reported speech তাই interrogative structure হবে না।

Given options, 
out - দূরে; বাইরে।
off - নিষ্ক্রিয়; নিষ্প্রভ; মন্দাক্রান্ত। 
staying out - বাহিরে থাকা। 
outside (preposition(al)) - বাইরে; বহির্ভাগে বা বহির্দেশে।
