Noun and Noun Related

• Articles মুলত Noun, Pronoun এর আগে বসে তাদের সংখ্যা এবং নির্দিষ্টতা, অনির্দিষ্টতা জ্ঞাপন করে।
- Articles কে প্রধানত দুই ভাগে ভাগ করে যায়।
• Indefinite Articles: A, An-এরা  Indefinite Article.
• Definite Articles: The - Definite Article.

• এখানে কোনো নির্দিষ্ট Laptop-এর কথা বলা হচ্ছে না, বরং যেকোনো একটি Laptop-এর কথা বলা হচ্ছে।
"Laptop" শব্দটি consonant sound দিয়ে শুরু হয়েছে।আর বাক্যে এটি প্রথমবার উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে।
- তাই indefinite article "a" ব্যবহার হবে।

Complete sentence: My sister really wants a Laptop for her birthday.

অন্যদিকে, 
The - নির্দিষ্ট (specific) dress-এর কথা বললে বসে, যেটা আগে থেকে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে। 
Example: My sister really wants the dress we saw yesterday.
- (আগে দেখা নির্দিষ্ট ড্রেস) তাই the বসবে।

article ‘a’ বসে consonant (Vowel পাঁচটি ছাড়া বাকিগুলো) যুক্ত শব্দের শুরুতে।
article ‘an’ বসে vowel (a, e, I, o, u) যুক্ত শব্দের শুরুতে।

বি:দ্র: ‘a ও ‍an’ বসানোর ক্ষেত্রে প্রথম শব্দের উচ্চারণই মুখ্য।
অর্থাৎ প্রথম উচ্চারণটি যদি vowel এর হয়। তাহলে an হবে।
আর যদি প্রথম উচ্চারণটি consonant এর হয় তাহলে a হবে।

O দ্বারা শুরু সকল শব্দের পূর্বে ‍an বসবে। শুধু one এর পূর্বে ‍a বসবে।
তাই সঠিক বাক্য - It is a universal truth that the earth moves round the sun.

peel = খোসা (Noun), খোসা ছাড়ানো (Verb)
Peel এর আগে the আছে। তাই এটা Noun. কারণ Verb এর আগে the বসে না।
অন্যভাবে দেখলে, the peel এখানে throw – verb এর Object হয়েছে। আর Object – Noun হয়ে থাকে।

- Bangla Meaning: গতকাল দুপুরের খাবারের সাথে তুমি কী পান করেছিলে?

• Article -এর নিয়মানুযায়ী,
- খাবার (meals) breakfast, lunch, dinner, ইত্যাদির পূর্বে article (a/an) বসে না।
- তবে খাবারের (meals) পূর্বে Adjective থাকলে অথবা বিশেষার্থে এদের পূর্বে article (a/an) বসে।
- যেমন: We had a good breakfast yesterday.

• Article এর নিয়মানুযায়ী,
খাবারের(meals) এর পূর্বে a/an বসে না।
যেমন: I have breakfast at 8 a.m.

• তবে খাবারের পূর্বে adjective বসলে a/an বসে।
যেমন: We had a good breakfast yesterday.

• যেকোনো জাতির নামের পুর্বে article হিসাবে the বসাতে হয়।

• সাধারণত দেশের নামের আগে article বসে না। তবে দ্বীপপুঞ্জের নামের আগে বা যে সকল দেশ দ্বীপপুঞ্জ নিয়ে গঠিত সেগুলোর আগে 'The' article বসে।

• Example:

- The Maldives,
- The Netherlands,
- The Philippines,
- The Seychelles,
- The Solomon Islands.

• এছাড়া সমষ্টিবাচক দেশের নামের পূর্বে the ব্যবহৃত হয়।

বাক্যের অর্থ: তিতুমীর কদাচিৎ জন্ম নেয়।
এখানে বাক্যটি দিয়ে বোঝাচ্ছে তিতুমীরের মতো (সাহসী, দেশপ্রেমিক) লোক কদাচিৎ জন্ম নেয়।
যদি Proper Noun নির্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তিকে না বুঝিয়ে তার মত যে কোনো ব্যক্তিকে বুঝায়, তখন তার পূর্বে a/an বসে।

• chairs একটি countable noun, তাই এর পূর্বে determiner হিসেবে much নয় many বসবে।
- তাই এই sentence টিতে determiner এর misuse হয়েছে।

- books (বই) হলো plural countable noun, আর countable noun এর পূর্বে determiner হিসেবে all ব্যবহৃত হয়।

গ) She bought many apples from the market.
- apples হলো plural countable noun, তাই এর পূর্বে determiner হিসেবে many ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

ঘ) We saw several birds in the garden.
- birds ও plural countable noun, আর several determiner হিসেবে plural countable noun এর পূর্বেই বসে।

Complete sentence: Could you give me some information about the train schedule?
- প্রশ্নে 'information' uncountable noun, তাই এর পূর্বে determiner হিসেবে "some" বসবে।

• যে সকল noun কে গণনা করা যায় না  তাকে Uncountable noun বলে।
- যেমন: Bread, Equipment, Furniture, information, luggage, poetry, work, homework, scenery, traffic, hair ইত্যাদি।
- Uncountable noun -এর plural হয় না এবং এদের পূর্বে article ও হয় না।
- কিছু determiner কেবল uncountable noun কে modify করে। যেমন : little, a little, very little, much ইত্যাদি। 
- আবার, Some, a lot of, lots of, no এই Determiners গুলো countable এবং uncountable উভয়ই ধরনের noun এর পূর্বে বসতে পারে।
- তবে, Few, a few, very few, many ইত্যাদি Determiners কেবল Countable noun কে modify করে।

Uncountable noun–এর জন্য আমরা ব্যবহার করি:

- a little → কিছু (positive sense),
- little → খুব কম (negative sense).

- Countable noun এর ক্ষেত্রে only a few এবং uncountable noun এর ক্ষেত্রে only a little ব্যবহৃত হয়।

Participle is a form of verb, often ending in “-ed” or “-ing” and used with auxiliary verbs to make verb tenses, or to form adjectives.
আলোচ্য বাক্যে ‘running’ হল ‘run’ verb এর ing যুক্ত রূপ এবং এটা ‘train’ noun টিকে modify করার মাধ্যমে adjective এর কাজ করছে।
সুতরাং, এটা এখানে Participle। যদি gerund হতো তাহলে noun এর কাজ করতো।

সঠিক উত্তর: খ) The jury have given their verdict.

• Jury একটি collective noun.
যখন সদস্যদের আলাদা করে বোঝানো হয়, তখন plural verb (have) ব্যবহার হয়।

- Bangla Meaning: সর্বোচ্চ শাসক (রাজা, রানি, সম্রাট বা সম্রাজ্ঞী) অধিরাজ; সার্বভৌম।

• Common gender:
- Noun টি পুংবাচক বা স্ত্রীবাচক উভয়কেই বুঝালে তা Common Gender হয়।

Here Fleet is a Collective Noun.
মূলত, Collective Noun বলতে নির্দিষ্ট কোনকিছুর দল বা সমষ্টিকে বোঝায়।
Fleet  means a group of ships sailing together. তাই fleet হচ্ছে Collective noun.

• Collective Noun:
