• Contention (noun) [uncountable noun]

English Meaning: Disagreement resulting from opposing arguments.
Bangla Meaning: তর্ক; যুক্তিপ্রদর্শন; কলহ।

Synonyms: Disagreement (মতভেদ), Argument (কলহ; ঝগড়া), Quarrelling (দ্বন্দ্বী), Assertion, (বিবৃতি) Thesis (যুক্তিরুপে উপস্থাপিত বিষয়)।

Antonyms: Agreement (ঐক্য; মতৈক্য; ঐকমত্য), Unanimity (ঐক্যমত), Truce (সন্ধি), Consensus (সর্বসম্মত), Accord (সঙ্গতিপূর্ণ হওয়া)।

• 'Well begun is half done.' - Here 'well' is a/an - Adverb. 

• আমরা জানি noun / pronoun ছাড়া অন্য যেকোন কিছুকে Adverb modify করে থাকে।

• বাক্যটি - Well begun is half done.
- এটা মূলত Something well begun/ something begun well.
- begun এখা‌নে Participle/Adjective.
- Subject উহ্য রয়েছে এখানে।
- Well শব্দটি begun - Participle (Adjective)-টি কে modify করেছে তাই এটি Adverb.
- কাজটি ভাল করে শুরু করবে বোঝাচ্ছে।
- এ কারণে Well শব্দটি Adverb হিসেবে বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

• Take heart
English Meaning: to feel encouraged / to gain courage or confidence.
Bangla Meaning: উৎসাহিত হওয়া / আত্মবিশ্বাস বা সাহস অর্জন করা।

Ex. Sentence: Take heart, help will arrive shortly and everything will be fine.
Bangla Meaning: মনে সাহস রাখো, দ্রুতই সাহায্য আসবে এবং সব ঠিক হয়ে যাবে।

• The correct form of verb is - have been.
- Complete sentence: "I have been working on the project for a week." 

• ‘for/since’ এর পরে যখন point of time/period of time (for two hours, since morning etc.) উল্লেখ থাকে,তখন Present Perfect Continuous tense হয়।
- আবার, অতীতে কোন কাজ শুরু হয়ে বর্তমানে ও চলছে বুঝালে বাক্যটি Present Perfect Continuous Tense হয়।
- structure: Subject + have been / has been + verb (ing) + time.

• For এর ব্যবহার:
- Period of time এর পূর্বে for বসে। 
- Period of time হচ্ছে সেই সময়কাল যাকে সময় গণনার একক (সেকেন্ড, মিনিট, ঘন্টা, সপ্তাহ, মাস, বছর ইত্যাদি) দ্বারা গণনা করা হয়। যেমন-
- এক সেকেন্ড, এক মিনিট, এক ঘন্টা, এক সপ্তাহ, এক মাস, এক বছর, দুই বছর, ইত্যাদি।
-ব্যতিক্রম- (for) a long time (অনেক/দীর্ঘ সময়/ক্ষণ/দিন।)
যেমন-
- I have been working on the project for a week. 
- We have been reading in this school for four years.
- He said nothing for a long time.
- Rima has been working here for eight months.

• Since এর ব্যবহার:
- Point of time এর পূর্বে since বসে।
- Point of time হচ্ছে সেই সময়কাল যাকে এক, দুই, তিন ইত্যাদি গণনার একক দ্বারা গণনা করা যায় না বরং কোনো মুহূর্ত বা সময়কে নির্দেশ করে।
- যেমন- গত সোমবার, গত সপ্তাহ/মাস/বছর, দুইটা, সাড়ে তিনটা ইত্যাদি।
Example:
- It has been raining since morning.
- He has been studying since morning.

• Short (adjective): 
Meaning - হ্রস্ব; খাটো। 
Comparative form - Shorter. 
Superlative form - Shortest. 

Other forms:
Shorten (verb) - ছোট/সংক্ষিপ্ত হওয়া বা করা। 
Shortly (adverb) - শীঘ্র। 
Shortness (noun) - স্বল্পতা।

• Active: Did Rajib do the work? 
• Passive: Was the work done by Rajib?

• Active Voice এ Auxiliary Verb হিসেবে ‘did’ থাকলে passive voice এ এর পরিবর্তে was/were বসে। ‍
- এখানে Subject – singular হওয়ায় was বসবে।
- তারপর Object – Subject হয়ে বসবে।
- তারপর মূল Verb এর Past Participle.
- এর পর by হবে।
- তারপর Subject এর Objective Form.

• Preposition এর নিয়মানুযায়ী, 
- কোন কিছু থেকে কোনো জিনিস তৈরি হলে যদি এর উপকরণ টি পরিবর্তন হয়ে যায় তাহলে make from হয়।
- যেমন - Butter is made from milk.
- এখানে মূল উপকরণ milk, যা পরিবর্তিত হয়ে butter হয়েছে।

• আর যদি উপকরণ টি অপরিবর্তিত থাকে তবে made of হয়।
- যেমন - The table is made of wood.
- এখানে মূল উপকরণ  অপরিবর্তিত রয়েছে।

• This is the go of the day.
- Here the word 'go' is - Noun.

• Noun:
- যে word দ্বারা কোন ব্যক্তি, বস্তু, স্থান, কাল, ধারণা, কাজ বা গুণের নাম প্রকাশ করা হয় তাকেই noun বলে।

• Verb:
- যে শব্দ দ্বারা কোন প্রকার কাজ করা/হওয়া বুঝায় তাকেই Verb বলে।
- যেমন, go, eat, sleep, buy, sell, walk, run, see, play, write, give etc.

• This is the go of the day.
- এর অর্থ দাঁড়ায়, 'এটি হলো বর্তমান সময়ের রীতি'।
- সাধারণত go দ্বারা Verb বোঝালেও এখানে তা নয় কারণ এর দ্বারা 'যাওয়া' বোঝাচ্ছে না বরং 'রীতি' অর্থে 'noun; হিসেবে ব্যবহার হচ্ছে।
- আরেকটি নিয়ম হলো article (এখানে, the) এবং preposition ( এখানে, of)  এর মাঝে যা বসে তা noun হিসেবে বিবেচিত হবে।
- তাই go এখানে noun.

• Assertive Sentence: He is only seven.
• Negative Form: He is not less than seven.

 • বয়সের ক্ষেত্রে বা সংখ্যার ক্ষেত্রে only এর পরিবর্তে not less than/not more than বসে।
Affirmative: He is only four.
Negative: He is not more than four.

Affirmative: They have only two cars.
Negative: They have not more than two cars.

• Avarice (Noun)
English Meaning: Extreme greed for wealth or material gain.
Bangla Meaning: (ধন বা বিষয়সম্পত্তির) লোভ; লালসা; ধনলিপ্সা; ধনগৃধ্নুতা; ধনতৃষ্ণা; বিষয়লালসা; কৃপণতা; ব্যয়কুণ্ঠতা।

• অপশনে উল্লিখিত শব্দগুলোর অর্থ  
ক) Greed - লোভ।
খ) Unconcern - ঔদাসীন্য।
গ) Destructive - ধ্বংসাত্মক।
ঘ) Confront - মুখোমুখি হওয়া বা করা।

• সুতরাং, শব্দগুলোর অর্থ বিবেচনায় বোঝা যাচ্ছে, Avarice এর সমার্থক শব্দ হচ্ছে Greed.

- এই বাক্যে last month শব্দটি সময়কে নির্দেশ করছে।
- এটি adverb-এর কাজ করছে। তাই, এটি adverbial phrase.

• Adverbial Phrase:
- যে phrase বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয় adverb এর মত কাজ করে তাকে Adverbial Phrase বলে ৷
- সাধারনত বাক্যকে কখন ( when), কোথায় ( where), কেন( why) ও কিভাবে (how) দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে উত্তর হিসেবে যে phrase পাওয়া যায় সেটি Advrbial phrase.
- এখানে quite easily হচ্ছে manner অর্থাৎ কিভাবে কাজটি সম্পন্ন হয়েছে তা প্রকাশ পেয়েছে।
- তাই এটি adverb phrase.

- এই বাক্যে How দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে উত্তর পাওয়া যাবে।
- যেমন: 'কেমন করে ধরেছে?' এর উত্তর পাওয়া যায় 'quite easily' ধরেছে।
