• Article এর নিয়মানুযায়ী,
• সাধারণত পর্বতমালার নামের পূর্বে article হিসাবে the বসে।
- যেমন: The Himalayas, The Alps, The Vindhyas ইত্যাদি।

- কিন্তু একটিমাত্র পর্বত বা পর্বতশৃঙ্গ এর নামের পূর্বে article হিসাবে the বসে না।
- যেহেতু 'Mount Kilimanjaro' একটি মাত্র পর্বতশৃঙ্গের নাম তাই এর পূর্বে কোন article বসবে না।

• Article এর নিয়ম অনুসারে,
- School, college, market, bed, hospital, prison, mosque, temple, church, court of ইত্যাদি মূখ্য উদ্দেশ্যে (যেটা যেটার জন্য নির্মিত) ব্যবহৃত হলে কোন Article বসে না।
- Example:
- I go to school.
- He went to college.

• একই ভাবে,
- She went to the college where her brother studied.
- কিন্তু স্থানগুলো অন্য উদ্দেশ্যে ব্যবহৃত হলে এদের আগে Article বসে।

• দ্বিতীয় ক্ষেত্রে শব্দ architect একটি singular countable noun.
- architect শব্দটি vowel sound (a) দিয়ে শুরু, তাই এর পূর্বে Article হিসেবে an বসবে।

• Article এর নিয়মানুযায়ী,
- School, college, market, bed, hospital, prison, mosque, temple, church, court of ইত্যাদি মূখ্য উদ্দেশ্যে (যেটা যেটার জন্য নির্মিত) ব্যবহৃত হলে কোন Article বসে না।
যেমন:
- I go to school.
- He went to market.
একই ভাবে - He went to hospital for treatment purposes.

• কিন্তু স্থানগুলো অন্য উদ্দেশ্যে ব্যবহৃত হলে এদের আগে Article বসে।
যেমন:
- I went to the hospital to visit my uncle.

- Complete Sentence: He went to the college to meet a friend.

• “College” যদি মূখ্য উদ্দেশ্যে (শিক্ষা গ্রহণের জন্য) ব্যবহৃত হয়, তাহলে zero article হবে।

Example: He goes to college every day.

কিন্তু এখানে বাক্যটি বলছে যে তিনি একজন বন্ধুকে দেখতে গিয়েছিলেন, অর্থাৎ college এর মূল উদ্দেশ্য নয়, অন্য উদ্দেশ্যে গিয়েছেন। তাই এর আগে the article ব্যবহার করতে হবে।

• শূন্যস্থান সমূহে সঠিক উত্তর হবে - The, the.

• Article এর নিয়মানুযায়ী,
- দুটি noun and দ্বারা যুক্ত হয়ে একই ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুকে নির্দেশ করলে কেবল মাত্র প্রথম noun টির পূর্বে the বসে।
- কিন্তু যদি noun দুটি দ্বারা ভিন্ন ভিন্ন ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুকে বোঝায় তবে উভয় noun এর পূর্বে the বসে।

• একই ব্যক্তিকে নির্দেশ করছে নাকি ভিন্ন ভিন্ন ব্যক্তিকে সেটা বোঝার সহজ উপায় হচ্ছে - দুইটি subject/ noun এর পরের verb টির দিকে লক্ষ্য রাখা।

- Articles কে প্রধানত দুই ভাগে ভাগ করে যায়।
• Indefinite Articles: A, An-এরা  Indefinite Article.
• Definite Articles: The - Definite Article.

• এখানে কোনো নির্দিষ্ট dress-এর কথা বলা হচ্ছে না, বরং যেকোনো একটি dress-এর কথা বলা হচ্ছে।
"Dress" শব্দটি consonant sound দিয়ে শুরু হয়েছে।আর বাক্যে এটি প্রথমবার উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে।
- তাই indefinite article "a" ব্যবহার হবে।
Complete sentence: My sister really wants a dress for Christmas.

অন্যদিকে, 
The - নির্দিষ্ট (specific) dress-এর কথা বললে বসে, যেটা আগে থেকে উল্লেখ করা হয়েছে।

- (আগে দেখা নির্দিষ্ট ড্রেস) তাই the বসবে।

• শূন্যস্থানে সঠিক উত্তর হবে - a.
- Complete sentence: Shamima went a hunting.

• বাক্যটিতে went on hunting এর পরিবর্তে a hunting ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।
- অর্থাৎ, বাক্যটির on অন্য রূপ a তে পরিবর্তিত হয়েছে।
- এমন আরেকটি উদাহরণ হলো o’clock (o = of).
- এ জাতীয় preposition কে disguised preposition বলে।

• Disguised Preposition: যদি preposition এর পরিবর্তে ‘a/o’ ব্যবহৃত হয় তখন তাদেরকে Disguised (ছদ্মবেশি) Preposition বলে।
- সাধারণত on এর পরিবর্তে ‘a’ এবং of এর পরিবর্তে ‘o’ বসে।

• Material noun (ex: salt, water ইত্যাদি) এবং Abstract noun (ex: honesty, crueity ইত্যাদি) এর আগে The বসে না।

• কিন্তু material noun / abstract noun এরপর Of + noun থাকলে তখন এর আগে The ব্যবহার করা হয়।

Incorrect sentence - The Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world.

• একটি পর্বতের নামের আগে কোন Article বসে না, কিন্তু পর্বতমালার নামের আগে The বসে।
- এখানে একটি পর্বত বোঝানো হয়েছে, তাই কোন Article বসবে না।

• তাই সঠিক উত্তর 'The Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world.', এর আগে Article বসবে না।

Options,

খ) Correct sentence: The Himalayas are famous for their breathtaking views.
 - পর্বতমালার নামের আগে The বসে।

গ) Correct sentence: The Padma flows through Bangladesh.
- নদীর নামের আগে Article The হয়।

ঘ) Correct sentence: Orin went to Central Park.
- Park বা Street(রাস্তা) নামের পূর্বে সাধারণত কোনো article বসে না।

Uses of article:
সাধারনত abstract noun এর পূর্বে article বসে না।
e. g. patience is a virtue.

তবে,
abstract noun কে নির্দিষ্ট করে বুঝালে তার পূর্বে the বসে।

• Article এর ক্ষেত্রে, A, E, I, O, U এই পাঁচটি Vowel এর পূর্বে an বসে। 

- তবে প্রদত্ত বাক্যটিতে F. C. P. S. শব্দের 'F' Consonant হওয়া সত্ত্বেও Article হিসেবে 'an' বসবে। 
- 'F' উচ্চারণ করতে গেলে 'a' উচ্চারণ প্রথমে আসে, যা একটি Vowel.

• সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ অর্থাৎ abbreviation এর প্রথম অক্ষর vowel এর মত উচ্চারিত হলে তার পূর্বে an বসে।
- Example: an M.B.B.S., an F.R.C.S., an M.A.

• আবার, abbreviation এর প্রথম অক্ষর consonant এর মত উচ্চারিত হলে তার পূর্বে a বসে।
