Interrogative Sentence এর Active Voice কে Passive voice এ রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম:
→ এ ধরণের বাক্য যদি Do verb দিয়ে শুরু হয়, তাহলে প্রথমে তাকে Assertive Sentence- এ পরিণত করে তারপর তাকে Interrogative Sentence- এ পরিবর্তন করা সুবিধাজনক।

Active Voice: Do you want me?
Assertive Sentence: You want me. ↔ I am wanted by you.
Passive Voice: Am I wanted by you?

More Example:
Active Voice: Do you buy a pen?
Assertive Sentence: You buy a pen. ↔ A pen is bought by you.
Passive Voice: Is a pen bought by you?

Active Voice: Did he drink water?
Assertive Sentence: He drank water. ↔ Water was drunk by you.

Active voice এর Continuous tens এ মূল verb এর সাথে ing যুক্ত থাকলে passive voice এ অতিরিক্ত be verb এর সাথে ing যোগ করে being বসাতে হয়। এবং verb এর past participle form বসে।
সঠিক উত্তর হবে -

• Active voice এ people + stative verb (know, think, understand, know, find, say, etc) + that + clause থাকলে, passive করার নিয়ম হচ্ছে -
- It is /was (tense অনুযায়ী) + said + that + বাকি clause (যা আছে তাই) টি।

• Active: People say that love conquers all.
• Passive: People say that love conquers all.

• Agree/ be anxious/ arrange/ determine/ be determined/ decide/ demand + infinitive + object যুক্ত Active voice কে passive করার নিয়ম:
- প্রদত্ত Active voice এর subject ও verb বসবে।
- that বসবে।
- infinitive এর পরের Object (direct object) বসবে।
- should be বসবে।
- infinitive এর পরের verb এর past participle বসবে।

Active: They agreed to help the poor.
Passive: They agreed that the poor should be helped.

Active: He decided to submit the assignment.
Passive: He decided that the assignment should be submitted.

ব্যাখ্যা

কিছু কিছু Active Voice কে passive করতে indirect object (যেমন প্রশ্নোক্ত বাক্যে He) কে subject রূপে ব্যবহার কর‍তে হয়। এবং unknown/unimportant/people in general subject (যেমনঃ people, someone) থাকলে by.... এই রূপটি ব্যবহার করতে হয় না।

Active Voice : People believe he is a scholar.
Passive voice : He is believed to be a scholar.
Active Voice : Someone has cleaned the windows.
Passive Voice : The windows have been cleaned.
Active Voice : People love/hate the band’s music.
Passive Voice : The band’s music is loved/hated.

ব্যাখ্যা

• Active voice: Sanzida helped me finish the work.
• Passive voice: I was helped to finish the work by Sanzida.

• Help, Make, need, dare, bare, hear, feel, know ইত্যাদি causative verb গুলোর পর active voice এ bare infinitive হয় অর্থাৎ to উহ্য থাকে।
- কিন্তু passive এ পরিবর্তন করবার সময় তাদের পর to বসাতে হয়।

• Causative verb যুক্ত বাক্যটির passive voice এ পরিণত করার নিয়ম -
- Object কে sub + auxiliary verb + verb - এর past participle form + to + মুল verb + by + sub কে object.
- এক্ষেত্রে double object থাকায়, ব্যাক্তি বাচক object টিকে subject হিসেবে ব্যবহার করতে হয়।

Did আগে বসার কারণে subject এর পরের verb-টি Base form এ ব্যবহৃত হয়।
আর Why - Adverb হওয়ায় Passive করার ক্ষেত্রে এর কোন Function নেই।

• এখানে প্রদত্ত বাক্যের ক্ষেত্রে Let এর পরে Object (the sum) বসেছে।
- এরপর একটি 'be' + মূল Verb-এর Past Participle রূপ (solved) বসেছে।
- সবশেষে by+ Pronoun (them) বসেছে।

• Going to যুক্ত বাক্যের passive করার সময় Going to + be + verb এর past participle হয়।

- এই ধরনের complex বাক্যে যেখানে that-clause আছে, সেখানে passive form তৈরির দুটি উপায় আছে:

- প্রথম উপায় (Personal passive):
- সাধারণত Acknowledge, assume, think, claim, believe, know, report, understand, ইত্যাদি verb যুক্ত Active voice এর Passive করার নিয়ম-
- Personal object টিকে subject ধরা হয়।
- Tense অনুযায়ী auxiliary verb বসে।
- মূল verb -এর past participle + to be + direct object + by + subject -এর objective form.
- যেমন:
- Active: People thought that the autocrat was corrupt.
- Passive: The autocrat was thought to be corrupt.

- দ্বিতীয় উপায় (Impersonal passive):
- দ্বিতীয় অংশকে 'It' ধরে। যেমন:
- Active: People thought that the autocrat was corrupt.
- Passive: It was thought that the autocrat was corrupt.

- Subject হিসেবে People থাকলে Passive voice -এ সাধারণত তা লেখা হয় না।
- তবে, দ্বিতীয় অংশে transitive verb থাকলে দ্বিতীয় অংশেরও Passive করতে হয়।

অন্যান্য অপশনগুলো বিশ্লেষণ:
ক) The autocrat is thought to be corrupt.
- এটি ভুল কারণ, এখানে ভুল tense (is = present, কিন্তু মূল বাক্যে past tense) ব্যবহার হয়েছে।

ব্যাখ্যা

♦ Active Voice কে Passive Voice করতে হলে সাধারণত ৫টি কাজ করতে হয়।
১. Object → Subject হবে আর Subject -> Object হবে।
২. যদি কোন Auxiliary Verb থাকে, তাহলে সেটা বসবে।
৩. অতিরিক্ত একটি be verb বসবে।
৪. মূল Verb এর Past Participle বসবে।
৫. একটি Preposition (by / to / with / at/in) বসবে।

• Continuous Tense এ মূল Verb এর সাথে ing লাগানো থাকে, তাই অতিরিক্ত be verb এর সাথে ing লাগিয়ে “being” বসাতে হয়।
যেমন-
Active: I am eating a mango.
Passive: A mango is being eaten by me.

• Perfect Continuous Tense একটু ব্যতিক্রম। এ ক্ষেত্রে কোন অতিরিক্ত be verb বসবে না।
যেমন-
Active: I have been reading the book for two hours.
Passive: The book has been read for two hours by me.

- Auxiliary verb হিসেবে shall be/will be+ being বসবে
- মূল verb এর past participle form বসবে
- তারপর by+ active voice এর subject এর Object form বসবে।

Other options:
ক) Apples will not be eaten by them.
- Future Continuous tense এর Voice Change এর ক্ষেত্রে Auxiliary verb হিসেবে shall be/will be+ being এর পর মূল verb এর past participle form বসবে।

খ) Apples will not be eating by them.
- Future Continuous tense এর Voice Change এর ক্ষেত্রে Auxiliary verb হিসেবে shall be/will be+ being এর পর মূল verb এর past participle form বসবে।তাই এটি সঠিক নয়।

ঘ) Apples will not be being eating by them.
- Future Continuous tense এর Voice Change এর ক্ষেত্রে Auxiliary verb হিসেবে shall be/will be+ being এর পর মূল verb এর past participle form বসবে।তাই এটি সঠিক নয়।

- Active Voice এর sentence এ কোনো Group verb থাকলে Voice change করার সময় Group verb এর Preposition টি verb এর সাথেই থাকে; এর পরে by বসাতে হয়।
