Dogmatic (adjective)

- Bangla Meaning: মূল্যহীন বা গোঁড়া মতবাদ প্রকাশ করে এমন। 

Dogma (noun)
- English meaning: a fixed, especially religious, belief or set of beliefs that people are expected to accept without any doubts.
- Bangla meaning: অন্ধবিশ্বাস বা গোঁড়া মতবাদ; ধর্মমত।

- এখানে 'that' Pronoun টি দুটি Clause বা বাক্যকে যুক্ত করেছে,তাই এটি Relative Pronoun.

Relative pronoun
- যে pronoun কোন noun বা pronoun কে নির্দেশ পূর্বক দুটি বাক্যকে যুক্ত করে তাকে relative pronoun বলে।
- যেমন: Who, which, that, what, but, etc.

ক) That is my book
- এখানে that হলো demonstrative pronoun এর উদাহরণ।

খ) Nobody was home
- এখানে Nobody হলো Indefinite Pronoun এর উদাহরণ।

ঘ) Each of the stories was fascinating.

- Bangla Meaning: এই চিঠিটি অপমান ছাড়া আর কিছুই নয়।
- এখানে 'but' হচ্ছে preposition; কারণ 'but' শব্দটি noun phrase(an insult) এর পূর্বে বসে বাক্যের অন্য অংশের সাথে সম্পর্ক স্থাপন করছে। 

• But (preposition):

• Participle:
- A participle is a verb that ends in -ing (present participle) or -ed, -d, -t, -en, -n (past participle).
- Participle may function as Adjectives, describing or modifying Nouns.
- Participle একই সাথে Verb ও Adjective এর কাজ করে।

• Participle মূলত তিন প্রকার:
1. Present Participle. Ex: The story is thrilling.
2. Past Participle. Ex: This is a book written by Charles Dickens.
3. Perfect Participle. Ex: Having gained the truth, keep the truth

• প্রদত্ত Sentence টিতে, Running train দ্বারা চলন্ত ট্রেনকে বুঝানো হয়েছে। সুতরাং এটি verb এর কাজ করেছে।
- আবার, ট্রেনটি কেমন অবস্থায় চলছে (চলন্ত অবস্থায়) তা বুঝাচ্ছে বলে Running হলো এখানে Adjective.
- সুতরাং Running শব্দটি একই সাথে verb ও Adjective এর কাজ করল।
- তাই Running শব্দটি এখানে Participle বা Present participle হিসেবে ব্যবহার হয়েছে।

• Explanation:
- "Barely" নিজেই একটি negative অর্থবাচক শব্দ, তাই এর পরে "no" ব্যবহার করা যাবে না।
- Correct sentence is - "She saw no birds in the garden this morning."

• উল্লিখিত বাকি অপশনগুলো,

- "Plenty of" সঠিক determiner, যা countable noun "books" কে determine করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

- English Meaning - Many times.
- Bangla Meaning - অনেকেই/ অনেক সংখ্যক/কত না।

• Complete Sentence: Many a woman faces hardship every day.
- Bangla meaning: অনেক নারী প্রতিদিনই কষ্টের মুখোমুখি হয়।

 - "Many a/an" এর পর singular countable noun এবং singular verb ব্যবহার করা হয়।
- প্রদত্ত বাক্যে "Many a" এর পর singular noun "woman" আছে, তাই singular verb "faces" হবে।

- English Meaning: relating to or involving people in general, rather than being limited to a particular group of people.
- Bangla Meaning: জনসাধারণ বা সর্বসাধারণ সম্বন্ধীয়; সর্বজনীন; জনসাধারণ; লোকসাধারণ।

• Publicize (verb) - প্রচার করা, জনসমক্ষে আনা, প্রকাশ্যে ঘোষণা করা, বিজ্ঞাপন দেওয়া ইত্যাদি।

• Other options,
ক) Publicity (noun) - প্রচার, প্রচারকার্য।
খ) Press (noun, verb) - (চাপ; চাপ দেওয়া, প্রেস করা), কিন্তু এটি public এর verb নয়।
গ) Publishable (adjective) - প্রকাশযোগ্য।

- সুতরাং, 'Public' শব্দের সঠিক verb হলো- Publicize.

• Correct answer: He is but a beginner in painting.

• But (Adverb)
- English meaning: Only.
- Bangla meaning: শুধু; কেবল; মাত্র।

- এখানে but শব্দটি Only অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে এবং এটি Adverb.
- তাছাড়া, কোন কিছুর উপর জোড় প্রদানের জন্য but ব্যবহৃত হলে সেটা Adverb হয়।

• উল্লিখিত বাকি অপশনগুলো,
ক) None but the patient wins the final reward.
- But (Preposition): ব্যতিরেকে, ছাড়া।
- এখানে But দ্বারা except = ব্যতীত বা 'other than' হিসাবে ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। তাই But word টি Preposition হিসেবে ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে।
-  এখানে 'but' "the patient" ব্যতীত অন্য কেউকে বোঝাছে না, শুধুমাত্র the patient এর কাজ করাকে বুঝানো হয়েছে।

- But (Conjunction): কিন্তু; তবে।
- Used to indicate the impossibility of anything other than what is being stated.
- Used to introduce a response expressing a feeling such as surprise or anger.
- Used to introduce a phrase or clause contrasting with what has already been mentioned.

- এখানে But Conjuntion হিসেবে ব্যবহার হয়েছে।
- কারণ, 'but' Conjunction হিসেবে দুটি বাক্যাংশকে যুক্ত করেছে।

ঘ) But me no buts.
- এই Sentence টি একটি Imperative Sentence.
- Sentence টি Verb দিয়ে শুরু হয়েছে।
- তাই Sentence এর শুরুতে যে But ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে সেটি Sentence এ Verb হিসেবে বসেছে।

- প্রদত্ত Sentence এর শেষে আরও একটি But রয়েছে।
- যেটি No এরপর বসেছে।
- যা একটি Determiner বা Adjective হিসেবে ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে।

কতগুলো Noun আছে যারা সর্বদায় singular, সাধারনত এদের plural হয় না।
যেমন - abuse, accommodation, advice, baggage, behaviour, bread, business, poverty, poetry, weather etc.
Plural of -
Dilemma = Dilemmas
Army = Armies
Goose = Geese.

• Complete sentence: As the day went on, the weather worsened.
- Bangla meaning: দিন যতই গড়িয়েছে, আবহাওয়া ততই খারাপ হয়েছে।

- বাক্যটিতে দুটি clause কে যুক্ত করতে এমন একটি conjunction প্রয়োজন যা progression of time দেখায়।
- অর্থাৎ, সময়ের অগ্রগতির সাথে সাথে অন্য clause -এর কাজটিও ঘটে।

- As is used to mean "while" or "during the time that", indicating that two actions are happening simultaneously and one is affecting the other.
- অর্থাৎ, Conjunction হিসেবে As (while; when; during the time that) - যখন; চলাকালীন; যতই অর্থে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- তাই, এখানে সঠিক উত্তর হবে- As.

• As (conjunction)
- English Meaning: while; when; during the time that.
- Bangla Meaning: যখন; চলাকালীন; যতই।

অন্যদিকে,
ক) Just
- ঠিক; মাত্র; ন্যায্য; যুক্তিযুক্ত ইত্যাদি অর্থে (adjective, adverb) হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- যেমন: This is just what I expected.

গ) Unless
- except if 'যদি না' অর্থে এটি শর্ত বোঝাতে conjunction হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- এটি নিজেই negative অর্থ প্রদান করে।
- এজন্যে unless দ্বারা যে clause শুরু হয় তাতে no বা not বসে না।
- যেমন: Do not punish him unless he behaves roughly.

ঘ) So
- সুতরাং; অতএব; সে-কারণে; সেই জন্য ইত্যাদি অর্থে conjunction হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- It Indicates result of previous clause.
- যেমন: Nobody answered my knock, so I went away.

• এখানে 'mine' শব্দটি সরাসরি 'আমার বই' (my book) এর পরিবর্তে বসেছে এবং একটি Noun এর মালিকানা বোঝাচ্ছে।
- যেহেতু এটি Noun-এর পরিবর্তে বসেছে, তাই এটি একটি Pronoun.

• Possessive pronoun:
- Possessive pronoun হচ্ছে Personal Pronoun এর একটি প্রকার।
- এই pronoun দ্বারা possession বা অধিকার বোঝানো হয়।

- Mine, ours, hers, theirs, Its ইত্যাদি হচ্ছে possessive pronoun এর উদাহরণ।

• Possessive Adjective এবং Possessive Pronoun এর মূল পার্থক্য হলো বাক্যে তাদের অবস্থান এবং ব্যবহারের ধরণ। 
- Possessive Pronoun কোনো noun-এর পরিবর্তে বসে ওই জিনিসের মালিকানা বোঝায়।
- অন্যদিকে, Possessive Adjective সবসময় একটি Noun-এর আগে বসে সেই Noun-কে Modify বা বিশেষায়িত করে।  
- Example:  My, your, his, her, its, our, their。
- This is my book. (এখানে 'my' একটি Adjective কারণ এটি 'book' Noun-এর আগে বসেছে)।

• The Correct answer is - Noun.
- Article এবং Preposition এ মধ্যে কোন শব্দ থাকলে সেটি সাধারণত Noun হিসেবে ব্যবহার করা হয়।
- Sentence টিতে "push" শব্দটি Noun. কারণ এর আগে Article (a) ও Preposition (to) আছে।

• "Neither...nor" ব্যবহারের নিয়ম:
"Neither...nor" দুটি বিষয় বা ব্যক্তিকে নেতিবাচকভাবে যুক্ত করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Verb-টি nor-এর পরে আসা Subject-এর উপর নির্ভর করে।

• Subject-Verb Agreement:
- Neither A nor B + singular subject হলে → singular verb.
- Neither A nor B + plural subject হলে → plural verb.

উল্লিখিত প্রশ্নে,
সঠিক বাক্য :"Neither my parents nor my sister knows about the surprise party."
বাংলা অর্থ: আমার বাবা-মা কিংবা আমার বোন কেউই চমকপ্রদ পার্টি সম্পর্কে জানে না।
- কারণ Neither…nor এর পরে আসা subject অনুযায়ী verb বসে। প্রশ্নে nor-এর পরে থাকা subject 'my sister' singular, তাই verb হবে singular "knows".

Example Sentence:
1. Neither Ravi nor Priya is attending the meeting.
2. Neither the manager nor his assistants are available.
3. Neither the assistants nor the manager is available.
4. Neither the students nor the teachers were happy with the new rule.

Correct Answer: খ) Either.

• Distributive Pronoun:
- Distributive Pronoun হলো এমন একটি Pronoun যা একাধিক ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর মধ্যে কিছু ভাগ করে বা তাদের মধ্যে কোন কিছু পৃথকভাবে উল্লেখ করে।।
- Distributive Pronoun গুলো হচ্ছে: Each, Either, Neither.

• Pronoun:
- Pronoun হলো noun এর পরিবর্তে ব্যবহৃত word. এ কারণে Pronoun কে Substituting word বলে। 
- Example: He, She, We, They, I, etc.

• Pronoun ৮ প্রকার। যথা:
01. Personal Pronoun: I, me, my, mine, we, us, our, ours, you, thee, your, yours, he, him, his, she, her, hers. it, its, they, them, their, theirs. 
02. Reflexive Pronoun: myself, ourselves, yourself, yourselves, himself, herself, themselves, etc.
03. Demonstrative Pronoun: this, these, that, those, so, such, the same, etc.
04. Indefinite Pronoun: one, any, some, many, all, few, several, no one, everyone, none, someone, nobody, anybody, somebody, another, nothing, etc.
05. Interrogative Pronoun: what, which, who, whom, whose, etc.
06. Relative Pronoun: what, which, who, whom, whose, that, as, but, whoever, whoso, whomever, whatever, etc. 
07. Distributive Pronoun: each, either, neither, etc.
08. Reciprocal Pronoun: Each other, One another.

• Adjective এর পূর্বে so, too ইত্যাদি থাকলে ইহাদের পরে a/an বসে।

- too + adjective + a/an + singular countable noun
- এটি ইংরেজিতে একটি সঠিক এবং গৃহীত কাঠামো, যেখানে "too" কোনো বিশেষণ (adjective) কে modify করে এবং তারপরে "a/an" + singular countable noun থাকে।

Correct Sentence: This is too serious a matter for him to overlook.
- বাংলা অর্থ: "এটি তার উপেক্ষা করার জন্য অত্যন্ত গুরুতর একটি বিষয়।"
এখানে"too serious a matter" বলতে বোঝানো হচ্ছে যে বিষয়টি এতটাই গুরুতর যে সে এটি উপেক্ষা করতে পারবে না বা করা উচিত নয়।

• Complete sentence: A rumour went that she had cheated at the examination.
- Bangla meaning: গুজব রটেছিল যে সে পরীক্ষায় নকল করেছে।

• Sequence of tense অনুযায়ী,
- Principal clause -এর verb টি past tense -এ থাকলে sub-ordinate clause -এর verb টিও past tense -এ হবে।
- সাধারণত, that, which, where, when, how, though, although ইত্যাদি দ্বারা sub-ordinate clause টি শুরু হয়।

- তবে that যুক্ত sub-ordinate clause -এ that -এর পূর্বে past indefinite tense হলে that -এর পরে past perfect tense হয়। এক্ষেত্রে that এর পরের অংশের কাজটি আগে সংঘটিত হয়।
- যেমন: A rumour went that she had cheated at the examination.
- এখানে that-এর পূর্বে 'A rumour went' past indefinite tense -এ আছে তাই that -এর পরে past perfect tense verb হবে।

- অর্থাৎ, had cheated হবে।

অন্যদিকে,
ক) 'has cheated' ভুল, কারণ এটি present perfect.

গ) 'cheating' হলো gerund/present participle, কিন্তু এখানে past perfect হবে।

ঘ) 'caught cheating' হলো past indefinite, past perfect নয়।

• বড় স্থানের বা সময়ের পূর্বে in এবং ছোট স্থানের বা সময়ের পূর্বে at বসে।

• Correct answer: He lives at Kandirpar in Cumilla.

- সময়ের পূর্বে in ব্যবহার করলে তারপর the বসে। কিন্তু at ব্যবহার করলে the বসে না।
- Night, noon, dusk, dawn ইত্যাদি এর পূর্বে at বসে এবং morning, evening, afternoon ইত্যাদি এর পূর্বে in বসে।

• Gulliver's Travels - Singular Number.
• যে কোনো বইয়ের নাম বুঝালে Singular Number হয়।

• Number:
- কোন ব্যক্তি, বস্তু বা প্রাণীর সংখ্যাকে number বলে।

• Referendum (noun)
- English Meaning: An occasion when all the people of a country can vote on an important issue.
- Bangla Meaning: কোনো রাজনৈতিক প্রশ্নের মীমাংসার জন্য সর্বসাধারণের প্রত্যক্ষ ভোটগ্রহণ, গণভোট।

Spectrum (noun): 
English Meaning - A continuum of color formed when a beam of white light is dispersed (as by passage through a prism) so that its component wavelengths are arranged in order. 
Bangla Meaning - বর্ণালী; তিন পলা কাচ দ্বারা পৃথক করা আলোকের বর্ণ। 
- এর Plural form Spectrums ও Spectra উভয়ই।

- এটি একটি inversion structure যেখানে negative adverb "nowhere" বাক্যের শুরুতে আসায় subject-verb inversion হয়েছে।

• Inversion of the verb:
- প্রশ্ন করতে বা জোর প্রদান করতে বাক্যে subject এর পূর্বে verb ব্যবহৃত হওয়াকে Inversion of verb বলে।

• Negative inversion এর ক্ষেত্রে,
- Negative adverb + Auxiliary verb + Subject + Principal verb + Extension.
- Negative adverb গুলো হচ্ছে Hardly, Barely, Scarcely, Rarely, Seldom, Very seldom, Nowhere, Never, Never again, Never before, No sooner, Neither, Nor, Little (negative) ইত্যাদি।

- এ ধরনের negative বা restrictive adverb দিয়ে বাক্য শুরু হলে বাক্যে 'subject-verb' inversion করতে হয়।

• প্রশ্নটি মূলত Second conditional-এর উপর ভিত্তি করে করা হয়েছে। 
- একটি conditional sentence-এ দুটি অংশ থাকে।

• Second Conditional-এর নিয়মানুযায়ী: 
- শর্তযুক্ত অংশে If + past indefinite যুক্ত clause থাকলে, পরবর্তী clause টিতে subject-এর পরে would/could/might + verb-এর base form বসে। 

• Structure: If + past indefinite + subject + would/could/might + verb -এর base form + extension. 

• Note: 'If' clause-এ be verb হিসেবে সর্বদাই were হবে, If না থাকলে শর্তযুক্ত অংশটি were দ্বারা শুরু হবে।
