⇒ Embedded Question সবসময় একটি complex sentence-এর অংশ হয়।
- একটি principal clause (মূল বাক্য) এবং একটি subordinate clause (অধীন বাক্য) থাকে।
- Embedded Question সাধারণত Interrogative + assertive structure মেনে চলে।
- Subordinate clause-এ সরাসরি subject + verb থাকে, subject-verb inversion হয় না।
- প্রশ্নবোধক চিহ্ন (?) সবসময় principal clause-এর অনুসারে বসে। Subordinate clause-এর অনুসারে নয়।
- Subordinate clause assertive বাক্যের নিয়ম মেনে চলে।
- অর্থাৎ Principal clause-কে প্রশ্ন করা যাবে, কিন্তু subordinate clause-কে নয়।

⇒ Wh-words ব্যবহার:
Wh-words (যেমন: what, when, why, how, where, who, which) subordinate clause-এ conjunction হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

⇒ Structure:
১. Interrogative + assertive + question mark:
Example: Can you tell me where he is?
২. Imperative sentence + subordinate clause + full stop:
Example: Tell me how you are.
৩. Assertive sentence + subordinate clause + full stop:
Example: I don’t know who he is.

⇒ Embedded Question-এর নিয়ম:
Principal clause সবসময় interrogative/imperative হতে পারে।
Subordinate clause-এ কখনো subject-verb inversion হবে না।
Subordinate clause-এ assertive বাক্য ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
প্রশ্নবোধক চিহ্ন principal clause-এর অনুসারে ব্যবহার করতে হবে।

- এই ধরণের Sentence গুলোকে দুইভাবে voice পরিবর্তন করা যায়।

• 1^stStructure: দ্বিতীয় অংশকে 'It' ধরে। যেমন: It is known to me how it was done by him.

• 2^ndStructure: প্রথমে দ্বিতীয় অংশের voice পরিবর্তন করে। যেমন: How it was done by him is known to me.

• প্রদত্ত Complex Sentence টির দ্বিতীয় অংশ Past Indefinite tense -এ আছে,
- Past Indefinite tense-এর Passive Voice করার নিয়ম: Active voice -এর object + was/were + verb -এর(past participle) + by+ subject -এর object.
- known -এর পর Passive Voice -এ by না বসে to বসে।
- সুতরাং, নিয়মানুযায়ী সঠিক উত্তর - It is known to me how it was done by him.

or, Honest as he is, he is not happy.

Simple: In spite of his cruelty, I love him.
Complex: Though he is cruel, I love him.

Other options:
ক) The weather was bad, yet we went there।
এটা Compound sentence, কারণ দুটি Independent clause ("The weather was bad" এবং "we went there") সংযুক্ত হয়েছে coordinating conjunction "yet" দিয়ে।
খ) Although we went there, the weather was bad।
এটা grammatically ভুল।
ঘ) Though the bad weather, we go there।
এটা grammatically ভুল এবং অর্থহীন। "Though" থেকে subordinate clause তৈরি করতে "the bad weather" পর যথাযথ verb থাকা প্রয়োজন।

• Note: of all থাকলে সেক্ষেত্রে of all এর জায়গায় than all other বসে এবং of any এর পরিবর্তে than any other বসে।

→ Transformation Rule অনুসারে Complex sentence: "Though she has a lot of experience, she failed the interview."
