• নিয়মানুযায়ী সঠিক উত্তর হবে - should.
- Complete sentence: The students walked faster lest they should miss the class.

• Lest এর পরের Clause এ Should/ might/ be বসে। 
- Lest নিজেই Negative হওয়ায় এর পর আর কোনো negative শব্দ no/not/never বসে না।

• Structures:
- Lest + 1st subject + should/might + base form + complement.
- Lest + 1st subject + should be /might be +be+ V3 + complement.

• Few Examples:
- Work hard lest you should fail.
- He walked fast lest he should miss the train.
- He fled the country lest he be captured.
- Hesitant to speak out lest he be fired.

Incorrect sentence: Jamil reminded me taking medicine.

এর সঠিক বাক্যটি হলো - Jamil reminded me to take medicine.

• কিছু কিছু শব্দের পর object আসলে সবসময় to-infinitive হয়।
- যথা -Advise, remind, allow, permit, recommend ইত্যাদির পর object থাকলে gerund না বসে infinitive বসে।
• যেমন-
- Rahim reminded me to take medicine.
- She advised me to give up smoking.
- The manager allowed us to leave work early.
- The park permits visitors to bring their food.
- She encouraged her friend to pursue her dreams.
 
• তবে Advise, remind, allow, permit, recommend ইত্যাদির পর object না এসে সরাসরি verb আসলে তখন verb+ ing হবে।
• যেমন-
- They allow fishing here.
- I would advise taking out some Insurance.

• যদি কোনো বাক্যে with a view to, look forward to, conducive to, addicted to, mind, cannot help, could not help, be used to, get used to, worth ইত্যাদির পর কোন verb আসলে উক্ত verb এর সাথে ing যুক্ত হয়।
- তাই, প্রশ্ন প্রদত্ত বাক্যে addicted to আছে, তাই এরপরে verb + ing (addicted to watching) হবে।

Correct sentence: He became addicted to playing video games during the lockdown.

• Since এর প্রথম অংশ Present Indefinite/ Present Perfect Tense হলে পরের অংশ Past Indefinite Tense হয়। 
- আবার Since এর প্রথম অংশ Past Indefinite Tense হলে পরের অংশ Past Perfect Tense হয়। 
 
Correct sentence: Many years have passed since his father died. 
• প্রদত্ত বাক্যে since এর পূর্বের অংশ 'Many years have passed' অর্থাৎ Present Perfect Tense বিধায় পরের অংশ Past Indefinite Tense হবে।

- বিখ্যাত গ্রন্থের নামের পূর্বে লেখকের নাম থাকলে তার পূর্বে Article বসে না।

success (noun) সাফল্য; সফলতা; সিদ্ধি; চরিতার্থতা; কৃতকার্যতা; কৃতকৃত্যতা, সমৃদ্ধি; সংবৃদ্ধি; সৌভাগ্য; সাফল্য।

Correct answer: I would have bought that car.
Complete sentence: If I had saved more money, I would have bought that car.
- এটি একটি third conditional sentence.
- প্রদত্ত বাক্যটি 3rd conditional এর উদাহরণ। তাই If যুক্ত Clause টি past Participle form এ হওয়ায় পরবর্তী Clause এ would have+ Verb এর past participle হবে।

• 3rd Conditional এর নিয়মানুযায়ী,
- If clause- এ যদি (had + V3) হয়, তবে পরবর্তী clause a would/could/might + have + Verb এর Past Participle + extension ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- অনেকসময় conditional-এ subordinate conjunction if এর পরিবর্তে sentence এর শুরুতে Had ব্যবহার করা যায় এবং এর পর verb এর past participle form বসে।
- এবং এক্ষেত্রেও, পরবর্তী clause subject এরপর would have/could have/might have বসে এবং এর পরের verbটির past participle form হয়।

• Correct Sentence: I have seen him recently. (অপশন ক)
- Just, Just now, Akready, Recently, Yet, Ever থাকলে Sentence টি Present Perfect Tenxe হয়।

অন্যদিকে, 
(খ) Would that দিয়ে Sentence শুরু হলে Subject এরপর could বসে এবং verb এর Present form বসে।
Correct Sentence: Would that he could understand my feelings better.

(গ) And দ্বারা যুক্ত Sentence এ যদি Subject একই ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুকে বুঝায় তবে তাদের Verb ও Pronoun Singular হয়।
Correct Sentence: The Headmaster and secretary is present in the meeting.

(ঘ) As if / As though এর পূর্বে Present Indefinite Tense থাকলে as if/as though এর পরে Past Indefinite Tense হয় এবং Be verb থাকলে সব সময় were হয়।
Correct Sentence: He talks as though he knew everything.

• Correct sentence: Let you and her be leaders.

• Let এর পরে সবসময় pronoun -এর objective form বসে।
- উল্লেখিত অপশন গুলোর মধ্যে - you and her হচ্ছে objective pronoun.

- অন্য বাক্যগুলোতে she, I হলো subjective form, তাই ভুল।
- সুতরাং, নিয়মানুযায়ী সঠিক বাক্যটি হচ্ছে-  Let you and her be leaders.

• ইংরেজিতে কোনো বাক্যে একাধিক Pronoun বসলে তা সাধারণত '231' বা '23' বা '21' অথবা '31' নিয়মে বসে।
- অর্থাৎ প্রথমে second person, তারপর third person এবং শেষে first person বসে এবং এরপরে verb সর্বদা plural হয়।
- তবে দোষ/অপরাধ স্বীকার করলে '123'/ '132' নিয়মে বসবে।
- যেমন: I, you and he committed the crime.

যদি দুটো Subject or (অথবা/নতুবা), but (কিন্তু/ছাড়া), either .....or (দুইয়ের মধ্যে একজন),
Neither ...... nor (দুইয়ের মধ্যে একজন ও না), not only.....but also (কেবল এটিই নয় সেটিও)
এই পাঁচটির যে কোন একটি দ্বারা যুক্ত হয়, তাহলে শেষের Subject অনুযায়ী verb বসবে।
সে হিসেবে correct sentence -
Not only the headmaster but also the other teachers were present in the meeting.
আবার,
যদি দুটি Subject – as well as, with, along with, together with, accompanied by,
followed by, in addition to, including, except, excluding, ইত্যাদি Word বা Phrase দ্বারা যুক্ত হয় তাহলে প্রথম subject অনুসারে verb বসবে।

Correct sentence: I am fed up with the constant noise in the neighborhood.

• fed up with:
English meaning: If you are fed up with something, you are bored, annoyed, or disappointed because you have experienced it for too long.
Bangla meaning: বিরক্ত / অতিষ্ঠ / ক্লান্ত হয়ে যাওয়া

Example:
- I'm fed up with cleaning up after you all the time.
- He quit his job because he was fed up with the long hours.

উল্লিখিত অন্য অপশন গুলো অপ্রাসঙ্গিক।

- It is time , it is high time ইত্যাদির পর Subject থাকলে Verb টি Past Tense এর হয় ।
- আর এদের পর subject না থাকলে to + Verb হয় । যেমন:
• It is high time we discussed the matter.
• It is time to do the work.

• Causative Verb:
- Subject যখন নিজে কাজ না করে অন্যকে দিয়ে কাজ করিয়ে নেয় তখন এই অর্থে causative verb ব্যবহৃত হয়। 
- Help, Get, Have, Let, Make ইত্যাদি বহুল প্রচলিত causative verb.
- Make, have, get প্রভৃতি যোগে অনেক verb- কে causative verb এ পরিণত করা যায়।

• Causative Verb হিসাবে 'help' এর  নিয়মানুযায়ী - The teacher helped the students understand the difficult concept.
 বাক্যটি  সঠিক।

• Causative Verb হিসাবে 'Help' এর ব্যবহার:
- Help এর পর ব্যক্তি বা বস্তু থাকলে verb এর base form বসে অথবা to + verb বসে।

- Example:
- I helped him carry the boxes
- I helped him to carry the boxes

• উল্লিখিত বাকি অপশনগুলো,
• Causative verb হিসাবে 'Make' এর ব্যবহার: 
- Make এরপর কোনো ব্যক্তি বা বস্তু থাকলে verb এর base form বসে।
- Correct sentence: She made him apologize for his mistake.

• Causative verb হিসেবে Let এর ব্যবহার:
- Subject + let + ব্যক্তিবাচক/ বস্তুবাচক/ বিষয় object + V1
- Correct sentence: The manager let the employees leave early today.
 
• Causative verb হিসাবে get এর ব্যবহার:
- Subject + get + বস্তুবাচক object +verb এর past participle এই structure টি ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- Subject + get + ব্যক্তিবাচক object + infinitive (to + v1)  এই structure টি ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- Correct sentence:  Let's get our car washed nicely.

- এটি ভুল।
- "Spinster" মানে অবিবাহিতা মহিলা (unmarried woman).
- কিন্তু pronoun he ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে
- সঠিক হলে হতো: Despite being a spinster, she had a very fulfilling social life.

গ) The widower found it hard to cope with raising her children by herself.
- এটি ভুল।
- "Widower" মানে বিপত্নীক। [man whose wife has died]
- কিন্তু pronoun her এবং herself ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে যা ভুল।
- সঠিক হলে হতো: The widower found it hard to cope with raising his children by himself.

ঘ) The Winter, with her crown of frost, ruled the world with an unyielding grip.
- এটি ভুল।
- Winter, Summer ইত্যাদি noun গুলোকে (তাদের পুরোষোচিত গুণ থাকার কারণে) masculine gender বলে ধরা হয়।
- তাই এদের possessive গুলোও masculine হবে, অর্থাৎ, her না হয়ে his হবে।

• Correct sentence: Do you know where Jowel has gone?
- এই প্রশ্নটি Embedded question এর ভিত্তিতে করা হয়েছে।

• Embedded/Indirect question এর নিয়মানুযায়ী:
- বাক্যের মাঝে wh-word বসে যে প্রশ্ন তৈরি করে তাই embedded question.
- Embedded question, English Grammar এর এমন একটি নিয়ম যেখানে একটি assertive বাক্যের মধ্যে একটি interrogative বা প্রশ্নবোধক বাক্য (indirect question) সন্নিবেশিত করা হয়।
- অর্থাৎ, wh-word দ্বারা subordinate clause শুরু হয় এবং subordinate clause টি কখনোই Interrogative হয় না, সর্বদাই assertive হয়ে থাকে।

• Structure:
- Main question: "Do you know...?"
- Subordinate clause (Embedded question): "where Jowel has gone".

- যেহেতু প্রশ্নে উল্লিখিত বাক্যের প্রথম অংশে প্রশ্ন বোধক বাক্য বসেছে, তাই এর শেষে প্রশ্নবোধক চিহ্ন বসবে এবং subordinate clause এ wh word এর পর subject + verb +ext. বসবে।
- সুতরাং, সঠিক বাক্যটি হবে- গ) Do you know where Jowel has gone?

অন্যদিকে,
ক) Do you know where had Jowel gone?
- এখানে Inverted word order: "had Jowel" এবং Wrong tense: "had gone" ব্যবহার হয়েছে।

খ) Do you know where has Jowel gone?
- এখানে embedded question এর ব্যবহার না করে, "Where has Jowel gone?" = direct question ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে।

ঘ) Do you know where has gone Jowel?
- এখানে wrong word order এবং Auxiliary এবং subject-এর position ভুলভাবে ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে।

• Complete sentence: His poignant remarks during the debate won him many supporters.
- Bangla meaning: বিতর্কের সময় তার মর্মস্পর্শী মন্তব্য তাকে অনেক সমর্থক এনে দেয়।

Given Options:
ক) poignant - তীক্ষ্ণ; মর্মভেদী; অরুন্তুদ।

খ) frivolous - তুচ্ছ; হালকা; চপল; অকিঞ্চিৎকর।

গ) taciturn - অল্পবাদী; মৌনস্বভাব; বাকবিমুখ; মিতবাক।

ঘ) nebulous - মেঘসদৃশ; ঝাপসা; অস্পষ্ট; ধূমান্ধকার।

• সুতরাং, শব্দগুলোর অর্থানুযায়ী বুঝা যাচ্ছে, শূন্যস্থানে সঠিক শব্দ হবে- ক) poignant.

• No sooner had, Hardly had, Scarcely had এবং As soon as সবগুলোই 'করতে না করতেই/ হতে না হতেই' অর্থে ব্যবহার করা হয়।

• নিয়মনুযায়ী, 
- No sooner had থাকলে পরের অংশে than (not then) ব্যবহার করা হয়।
Hardly had থাকলে পরের অংশে when (not than) ব্যবহার করা হয়;
Scarcely had থাকলে পরের অংশে when (not than) ব্যবহার করা হয়;

- Examples: each, every, either, neither।

ক) Either of the two options are acceptable.
- ভুল, কারণ either singular, তাই singular verb “is” প্রয়োজন।

গ) Either of the two options had acceptable.
- ভুল tense এবং verb form; “had acceptable” grammatically ভুল।

ঘ) Either of the two options have been acceptable.
- ভুল, plural বা present perfect tense; singular verb দরকার।

→ সঠিক। "Stag" মানে পুরুষ হরিণ (male deer)। Pronoun his পুরুষের সাথে মিলেছে। (হরিণ সতর্কতায় hooves দিয়ে stomp করে, এটি both gender-এর জন্য স্বাভাবিক।)

গ) The filly shook her mane and galloped proudly across the field.
→ সঠিক। "Filly" মানে ছোট স্ত্রী ঘোড়া (young female horse)। Pronoun her স্ত্রী লিঙ্গের সাথে মিলেছে।

ঘ) The ewe ran swiftly when she heard the sound of wolves.
→ সঠিক। "Ewe" মানে স্ত্রী ভেড়া (female sheep)। Pronoun she সঠিক।

রুলস: একই ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর দুটি গুনের মধ্যে তুলনা করলে প্রথম গুণটির পূর্বে more / less বসাতে হয়। adjective গুলোর সাথে er/r যুক্ত করা যায় না।
উপরের উদাহরণে দুইটি গুণের সাথে তুলনা করা হয়েছে। অর্থাৎ brave এবং prudent এর মধ্যে তুলনা করা হয়েছে। তাই এর পূর্বে more ব্যবহার করতে হবে। যা কিনা অপশন ’খ’ তে আছে। আর অপশন ক, খ ও গ তে নিয়মের বাইরে গিয়ে ব্যবহার করায় তা ভুল।

Bangla Meaning - কোনো কিছুতে জোর দেয়া বা পীড়াপীড়ি করা  ।
- Insist on/upon এর সাথে verb এর ing form বসে।

যেমন:

- He insisted on seeing her.

- প্রথম subject 'Fariya' হলো singular তাই verb টি singular (is) হবে।

অন্যান্য অপশন,

- Missing auxiliary verb (“is” before “planning”).

- Subject (Fariya) is singular, কিন্তু verb “have been” হলো plural.

গ) Fariya, along with her siblings, are planning a surprise party for their parents.
- Subject “Fariya” is singular, কিন্তু verb “are” হলো plural.
