i)নং বাক্যের Such that অর্থ এমন ......... যে i) নং বাক্যে বলা হচ্ছে যে, কর্মসংস্থান সমস্যা এমন একটি সমস্যা যে এটি 25% লোককে প্রভাবিত করছে । এরকম বাক্য হলোঃ His language was such that everyone loathed him.
ii) নং বাক্যের Such অর্থ এরকম; এ জাতীয় ; এ ধরণের ।
এতে বলা হচ্ছে যে, পৃথিবীর এই অংশে এরকম মুষলধারে বৃষ্টি খুবই বিরল ।
আর iii) নং বাক্যের As such অর্থ প্রকৃত/সত্যিকার অর্থে বা সেই অর্থে ।
যেমনঃ He did not deride poetry as such but only what passes for it.
বাক্যের অর্থঃ আসলে নতুন ম্যানেজারের সাথে আমার কোন ঝামেলা নেই কিন্তু আমি তার কিছু অভ্যাস অপছন্দ করি ।

সঠিক উত্তর: ক) unsubstantiated.

ক) unsubstantiated:
English meaning: not supported by facts.
Bangla meaning: অপ্রমাণিত; অপ্রমাণসিদ্ধ।

খ) incontrovertible:
English meaning: impossible to doubt because of being obviously true.
Bangla meaning: অকাট্য; তর্কাতীত; অখণ্ডনীয; সুনিশ্চিত; তৰ্কাতীত; নিঃসংশয়।

গ) validated:
English meaning: to make something officially acceptable or approved, especially after examining it
Bangla meaning: যাথাথ্র্য সমর্থন করা; সত্যতা সমর্থন করা; হাঁ-সূচকভাবে বলা।

ঘ) fortified:
English meaning: made stronger against attack, for example with high, strong walls.
Bangla meaning: আক্রমণের বিরুদ্ধে (কোনো স্থানকে) সুরক্ষিত/ দুর্ভেদ্য করা।

অপশন বিবেচনা করে দেখা যায়, শূন্যস্থানে unsubstantiated বসালে বাক্যটি পরিপূর্ণ হয়।

সঠিক বাক্য-
- A drowning man catches at a straw.
- I do not know how to swim.
- He called me a fool.
- He told a lie.

• Correct sentence: খ) This poem closely resembles an earlier one.

• সাধারণত resemble (transitive verb হিসেবে) এর পর কোনো preposition বসে না, সরাসরি object বসে।
- Correct structure is: Subject + resemble + direct object.

- আবার, "resembled" verb টিকে modify করার জন্য adverb "closely" সাধারণত subject এবং main verb এর মাঝে বসে।
- তাই সঠিক বাক্য হবে- This poem closely resembles an earlier one.

• এই রকম আরো কিছু verb হচ্ছে-
- Reach, resemble, violate, discuss, investigate, recommend, order, command, enter, ইত্যাদি verb গুলো transitive বলে এদের পরে কোনো preposition বসে না।
- এদের পর সরাসরি object বসে।

Comparison Paragraph (যে paragraph-এ দুই বা ততোধিক জিনিস, ঘটনা বা ব্যক্তির সম্পর্কিত তুলনা দেখানো হয়)-এ transitional word হিসেবে such as, similarly, also, too, both ব্যবহার করা হয়।
পুরো বাক্যটি হবে- In writing comparison paragraphs, transitional words such as, similarly, also, too, both are used.

তাই এখানে into এখানে বসবে।

অপশন d সঠিক উত্তর। কারণ through একটি preposition. আর preposition এর পর verb বসলে তার সাথে ing যোগ করতে হয়।

Subject হিসেবে One থাকলে এর possessive হিসাবে one's ব্যবহৃত হয়।
কিন্তু everyone/everybody থাকলে singular pronouns এবং possessives ব্যবহার করাটা অধিক formal. 
এবং মানুষ বুঝাতে ইংরেজিতে singular, gender-neutral pronouns এবং possessives না থাকায় feminine অথবা masculine form ব্যবহার করতে হয়। 
Everyone chooses what he or she wants to have for dessert.
Everybody left his dirty dishes in the sink.

তবে formal context ছাড়া অনেকেই plural pronouns এবং possessives ব্যবহার করে।

Everyone chooses what they want to have for dessert.
Everybody puts their own dishes in the dishwasher.

কোন লাইন বরাবর বোঝালে along ব্যবহার করা হয়।
যেমনঃ a path/a road/ a river/ a beach/ a canal ইত্যাদি বরাবর বোঝালে along ব্যবহার করা হয়।
Correct Sentence: He ran along the riverbank with full speed.
বাক্যের অর্থঃ সে নদীর তীর বরাবর পূর্ণগতিতে দৌড় দিল।

Advice একটি uncountable noun. uncountable noun এর কোনো plural form হয় না।
Some, any এই determiner-গুলাে countable এবং uncountable উভয় ধরনের noun-এর পূর্বে বসতে পারে।
সুতরাং, শূন্যস্থানে advice ব্যবহৃত হবে৷

Correct answer: cars were.
- Complete sentence: A number of cars were blocking the road.
- A number of quantifier টি যখন বাক্যের subject হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয় তখন পরবর্তী Noun এবং Verb উভয়ই Plural হয়।

• A number of যখন বাক্যের subject:
- Structure: A number of + plural Noun + plural verb.
- প্রশ্ন প্রদত্ত বাক্যে A Number of আছে তাই এরপর plural verb হিসেবে were বসবে।
 এবং Plural Noun হবে cars.

- তবে The Number of + Plural Noun + Singular Verb হয়।
- যেমন: The number of girls is present in today's program.

Besides means in addition to & Beside means near. সুতরাং অর্থগত দিক দিয়ে শূন্যস্থানে besides বসে।
- অন্যদিকে beside পাশে থাকা বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়৷
- আবার, instead of একটির পরিবর্তে অন্যটি নেয়া বোঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে থাকে।
- তাই এটি হবে না কারণ বাক্যটিতে একটি course এর সাথে অন্যান্য course কে নেয়া বুঝাচ্ছে।
- of এবং until অর্থগতভাবে সঠিক নয়।

Options:
ক) impair (verb) 
English Meaning: to reduce the soundness, effectiveness, or perfection of.
Bangla Meaning:  হানি/ক্ষতি করা; বিকল করা। 

খ) resist (verb) 
English Meaning: to refuse to accept something and try to stop it from happening. to fight back when attacked; to use force to stop something from happening.
Bangla Meaning: (১) বিরোধিতা করা; প্রতিরোধ করা। (২) (ক্ষতি) রোধ করা। (৩) ঠেকিয়ে রাখা; প্রতিহত করা।

গ) improve (verb) 
English Meaning: to become better than before; to make something/somebody better than before.
Bangla Meaning: (১) উন্নতিসাধন/উন্নতি বিধান/শ্রীবৃদ্ধি/উৎকর্ষবিধান করা; উন্নতি বা উৎকর্ষ লাভ করা। (২) উন্নতি বিধায়ক কিছু; সৌন্দর্য, উপযোগিতা; মূল্য ইত্যাদি বৃদ্ধি করে এমন কিছু; উন্নতি; উৎকর্ষ। 

ঘ) enhance (verb) 
English Meaning: to increase or further improve the good quality, value or status of somebody/something.
Bangla Meaning: বাড়ানো; বৃদ্ধি করা (যেমন মূল্য, আকর্ষণ, শক্তি ইত্যাদি)।

- সুতরাং, শব্দগুলোর অর্থ বিবেচনায় বোঝা যাচ্ছে, শূন্যস্থানে সঠিক উত্তর হবে- impair.

• Nail down [phrasal verb]
- English Meaning: to reach an agreement or a decision, usually after a lot of discussion.
- Bangla Meaning: সাধারণত অনেক আলোচনার পর একটি চুক্তি বা সিদ্ধান্তে পৌঁছানো।

- অর্থাৎ, "nail down" দ্বারা কোনো কিছুকে চূড়ান্ত করা, নিশ্চিত করা, স্থির করা বুঝায়।
- এখানে যুদ্ধবিরতি চূড়ান্ত করার কথা বলা হয়েছে, তাই শূন্যস্থানে "nail down" বসবে।

অন্যদিকে,
- Catch up - পিছিয়ে পড়া অবস্থান থেকে সমান হওয়া / কারও সঙ্গে যোগাযোগ করা।

- Nail against - এটি standard phrase নয়।

- Throw off - ঝেড়ে ফেলা / মুক্ত হওয়া / বিভ্রান্ত করা।

- এগুলো ceasefire-এর সঙ্গে অর্থগতভাবে মানায় না।

• Would you mind যুক্ত incomplete sentence কে complete করার নিয়ম:
- Would you mind এরপর verb এর মূল form এর সাথে ing যোগ করতে হয়।
- Structure: Would you mind + verb + ing + object.

• Example sentence:
- Would you mind coming to my house?
- Would you mind giving me some money?

• Each of, any of, one of ইত্যাদি বাক্যে subject হিসেবে বসলে এদের পর noun plural এবং verb সবসময় singular হয়।
- Each of, any of, one of  + Plural Noun + Singular Verb.

Complete sentence: Each of the students has submitted their homework on time.

উপরে বিকল্পগুলো কেন ভুল:
ক) Each of the student has submitted their homework on time.
→ এখানে student singular, কিন্তু after “each of” plural noun থাকা উচিত।

গ) Each of the students have submitted their homework on time.
 → “each” singular, তাই verb has হবে, “have” না।

ঘ) Each of the student have been submitted their homework on time.
 → একাধিক ভুল: “student” singular, “have been submitted” passive tense ভুল। has submitted ব্যবহার করতে হবে।

Correct answer: Everybody has finished his homework.

• Everybody, Everyone, Everything, Nobody, No one, Nothing, Anybody, Anyone, Anything, Someone, Somebody, something, ইত্যাদি বাক্যের Subject হলে এদের পরে সর্বদাই singular verb বসে।
- এগুলো সর্বদা Singular এবং এদের পরে সর্বদাই singular verb বসে।
- আবার এরা subject হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হলে এদের possessive টিও singular হয়।
- যেমন: Everybody has completed his work.

Other Options:
ক) Everybody has finished their homework.
- এটি ভুল কারণ Everybody এর সাথে Plural Possessive ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে।

খ) Everybody have finished their homework.
- এটি ভুল কারণ Everybody এর পর Plural verb এবং Plural Possessive ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। তাই এটি সঠিক নয়।

ঘ) Everybody have finished his homework.
- Everybody বাক্যের Subject হলে এদের পরে সর্বদাই singular verb বসে। এটি ভুল কারণ Everybody এর পর Plural verb করা হয়েছে।

He received a ten-dollar / a one-dollar bill from the restaurant; 
I got a fifty-dollar bill from my other grandma.
He bought a three hundred dollar suit. 
এখানে dollar এর সাথে s যুক্ত হবে না কারণ এরা আলাদা আলাদা ততগুলো সংখ্যা বুঝাচ্ছে না বরং এরা বাক্যে একটি ইউনিট হিসেবে noun (bill, suit) গুলোর ব্যাপারে অতিরিক্ত তথ্য দিচ্ছে।

Two dollars will take you halfway across the city.
Fifteen dollars was clearly a low estimate.

এই বাক্যগুলোয় two এবং fifteen আলাদা আলাদা সংখ্যা হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে বিধায় dollar এর সাথে s যুক্ত হয়েছে।

- এখানে, A bouquet of yellow roses হচ্ছে singular; কেননা, এর দ্বারা হলুদ গোলাপ ফুলের একটি তোড়া বুঝাচ্ছে। 

Other options, 
ক) Breaking and entering is against the law.
- এখানে, 'Breaking and entering' হচ্ছে একটি noun; এর দ্বারা অসৎ উদ্দেশ্যের জোরপূর্বক কারো ঘরে প্রবেশ করা বুঝায়। 
- তাই, এর verb singular হবে। 

খ) To walk and to chew gum require great skill.
- যদি দুটি infinitive বাক্যে subject হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয় এবং “and” দ্বারা যুক্ত থাকে, তবে সেগুলো একত্রে plural subject হিসেবে গণ্য হয়।
যেমন- To swim and to cycle are excellent exercises.

গ) The herd is stampeding.
- 'herd' হচ্ছে Collective noun; এর দ্বারা গবাদিপশুর দল বুঝায়। 
- তাই, এখানে singular verb হবে।

• প্রদত্ত উল্লিখিত Sentence টি passive voice এ রয়েছে।

• শুধুমাত্র মূল verb দিয়ে শুরু করা Imparetive sentence এর Active voice কে Passive voice এ রূপান্তরের নিয়ম:
- Let দিয়ে Passive voice এর বাক্যটি শুরু হবে।
- Active voice এর object টি Passive voice এ subject হিসেবে বসে।
- be বসে।
- মূল verb এর Past Participle form বসে।
- অনেক ক্ষেত্রে Active voice এর subject কে object করার সময় by ছাড়া অন্য preparation বসে। যেমন: to, at, on, with, for ইত্যাদি।
- Active voice এর subject টি Passive voice এ object হিসেবে বসে।

- কোনো বাক্যে "One of the" থাকলে এদের পর noun plural হয় কিন্তু verb singular হয়। 

• বাক্যের শুরুতে বা বাক্যাংশে Each of the, One of the, Neither of the, Either of the থাকে,
- তবে এদের পরবর্তী Noun বা Pronoun সবসময় Plural বা বহুবচন হয়,
- কিন্তু ব্যবহৃত Verb সবসময় Singular বা একবচন) হয়।
- কারণ এখানে Noun-টি অনেকের মধ্যে একটিকে (one) বা প্রত্যেককে (each) নির্দেশ করে।

• Correct Answer: খ) Walking through the park, I smelled the wonderful flowers.

- "Walking through the park" একটি participial phrase, যা বাক্যের subject এর সাথে মিলতে হয়।
- (খ) অপশনটিতে subject "I" - যার কাজ "walking" এবং "smelling", তাই এটি ব্যাকরণগতভাবে এবং অর্থের দিক থেকে সঠিক।
- (ক) অপশনে মনে হচ্ছে "the flowers" পার্কে হাঁটছে, যা অসম্ভব - এটাকে বলে dangling modifier.
- অন্য অপশনগুলো grammatical error অথবা ভুল অর্থ বহন করছে।
- তাই সঠিক এবং পরিষ্কার বাক্য হলো: "Walking through the park, I smelled the wonderful flowers."

Other options:
ক) Walking through the park, the flowers smelled wonderful.
- ভুল, কারণ এতে মনে হচ্ছে "flowers" হাঁটছে - যা এক ধরনের dangling modifier.

ঘ) While walking, flowers smelled wonderfully in the park.
- ভুল, কারণ "flowers" হাঁটতে পারে না এবং "wonderfully" একটি adverb - যা এখানে "wonderful" (adjective) হওয়া উচিত।

Example :  Large areas of land had been cleared of forest.
