Hardly had / scarcely had থাকলে sentence এর পরবর্তী clause 'when' দিয়ে শুরু হয়, এবং when এর পূর্বের অংশ past perfect tense এবং পরবর্তী অংশ past indefinite tense এ হয়।
কিন্তু No sooner had থাকলে পরের clause টি 'than' দিয়ে শুরু হয়।
