Preposition, Conjunction and Interjection

Complete sentence: These companies are exempt from tax on profits in the first three years.

• Exempt from something:
English meaning: with special permission not to do or pay something.
Bangla meaning: (বাধ্যবাধকতা ইত্যাদি থেকে) রেহাই বা অব্যাহতি দেওয়া।

Example: 
- Private clubs are not exempt from the smoking ban.

vexed at/with অর্থে বিরক্ত।-
প্রদত্ত বাক্য অনুযায়ী এখানে at বসবে।
- He is vexed at my opposition.
- with ব্যবহার তো, যদি বাক্যটি এমন হতো: He is vexed with me for opposing him.

• Phone শব্দটির পূর্বে preposition হিসাবে by বসে।
- কিন্তু the phone এর পূর্বে over/ on, preposition হিসাবে বসে।
- যেহেতু প্রশ্নে উল্লেখিত বাক্যটিতে phone এর পূর্বে 'the' আছে, তাই সঠিক উত্তর হবে - over. 

• Complete sentence: I talked to my friend over the phone last night.

• Preposition এর নিয়ম অনুসারে:
- By phone: The company can be reached by phone on this number.
- Over the phone: You can arrange a mortgage online, over the phone, or through a meeting.
- On the phone: She has spent hours on the phone in recent weeks, talking to negotiators in a labor dispute.

• Complete sentence: You can join the team provided that you have completed the training.

• Provided/ provided that/ providing that.... (যদি)
- "Provided that" means "on the condition that" or "only if"

- Structure: প্রথম Clause + উক্ত word + ২য় sentence.

- N.B. প্রথম Clause টি Future indefinite এবং ২য় sentence টি present indefinite হবে।

• More Examples:
- The plane will take off on time, provided the weather is good.

• Other Options:
ক) as if - Suggests an unreal comparison (You can join the team as if you have completed the training - illogical).
খ) let alone - Used for negation (You can join the team let alone you have completed the training - irrelevant here).
ঘ) as wish - Grammatically incorrect (no such phrase in English).

The bank credited the oil company with tk 50000.
- Credit-এর পর account/ অন্য কোন object বসলে এবং তারপর amount বসলে উক্ত amount এর আগে with বসে।
- যেমন-The bank has credited our account with 10000 tk.

অন্যদিকে,
- Credit-এর পর amount এবং তারপর account বসলে -এর আগে to বসে। আবার কারো acoount এ টাকা Deposit করা অর্থেও 'to' বসে।
- যেমন- Credit tk 10000 to my account.

• Correct Answer: ক) Either you apologize or you leave.

• Correlative conjunction:
- কিছু কিছু conjunction আছে যাদের একটি word বা অংশ অপর একটি word বা অংশের সাথে মিলে একসাথে একটি যৌগিক conjunction এ পরিণত হয় এবং একটিমাত্র conjunction হিসেবে কাজ করে। এদেরকে বলা হয় correlative conjunction.
- as... as,
- such.. as,
- though ... yet.
- either .. or.

- Either you apologize or you leave.
- হয় তুমি মাফ চাও না হয় চলে যাও।
- (Either…or) - এই শব্দ জোড় একসাথে কাজ করে একটি conjunction হিসেবে কজ করে টাই, এটি correlative conjunction.

Other Options:
খ) He stayed home because he was ill.
- এখানে because একটি subordinating conjunction. (showing reason.)

গ) I waited until the rain stopped.
- এখানে until একটি subordinating conjunction.(showing time.)

ঘ) She runs fast and trains hard.
- এখানে and একটি coordinating conjunction. (joining two actions.)

At such a price অর্থ এই দামে।
At যোগে বাক্যটির অর্থ - তুমি এমন দামে এই জামাটি পাবে না।

As, So, Since ইত্যাদি conjunction.
আর On একটি preposition.

So যখন Conjunction হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয় তখন এটি বাক্যের প্রথম অংশের সাথে দ্বিতীয় অংশের মাঝে ফলাফল সূচক বন্ধন হিসেবে কাজ করে। 

প্রদত্ত বাক্যে, প্রথম অংশে বলা হচ্ছে, তুমি তার সাথে খারাপ আচরণ করেছ, বিধায় সেও এখন তোমার সাথে অনুরূপ করছে। 

সুতরাং সঠিক উত্তর হবে: You treated him badly so he is doing the same to you now.

Use of So:
- as a conjunction (connecting two clauses): There weren’t enough beds, so I had to sleep on the floor.
- as a way of starting a new sentence: So, when do you start your new job?
- in the conjunction phrase so that: He was standing in the shadow so that I could not see his face.

English Meaning: to quickly examine something / to read something quickly, especially to find the information they need.
Bangla Meaning: দ্রুততার সাথে পরিদর্শন করা / পরীক্ষা করা। 

Ex. Sentence: I had a few minutes before the meeting to look over what he'd written.
Bangla Meaning: সে কি লিখেছে মিটিং এর আগে তা দেখার জন্য আমার হাতে কয়েক মিনিট সময় ছিলো (এজন্য দ্রুত দেখতে হয়েছে)।

Made from
We often use made from when we talk about how something is manufactured:

Plastic is made from oil.

Made of
We use made of when we talk about the basic material or qualities of something. It has a meaning similar to ‘composed of’:

She wore a beautiful necklace made of silver. Glass is made of bottles. 

Made out of
We usually use made out of when we talk about something that has been changed or transformed from one thing into another:

They were living in tents made out of old plastic sheets.

Made with
We use made with most often to talk about the ingredients of food and drink:

This dish is made with beef, red peppers, and herbs.

• অবস্থা বা মানসিক অবস্থা বুঝাতে preposition হিসেবে 'in' ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• Example: 
- The baby is in a deep sleep.
- They are in debt.
- She is in a state of depression.
- She is in a state of confusion. 

• Complete Sentence: He is in pain after the accident. (দুর্ঘটনার পর সে প্রচণ্ড যন্ত্রণায় ভুগছে।) 

• আরো কিছু ক্ষেত্রে Preposition হিসেবে 'in' এর ব্যবহার:

1. অবস্থানের ক্ষেত্রে ভিতরে বা মধ্যে বোঝাতে in বসে।
• Example: My pen was in the drawer. We are in the class.

2. সপ্তাহ, মাস, ঋতু, বছর, শতাব্দী ও সহস্রাব্দের পূর্বে in বসে।
• Example: We will go in March. She likes to travel in winter. In the first week.

3. স্থানের ক্ষেত্রে বড়ো স্থানের পূর্বে in বসে।
• Example: Bangladesh is a country in Asia. He lives in Dhaka.

4. কোনো পাঠ্য বা গবেষণার বিষয়ের পূর্বে in বসে।
• Example: He studies in physics. She completed masters in economics.

5. পরিধান করে আছে এমন বোঝাতে in বসে।
• Example: The boy in blue shirt is my friend. She was in jeans.

Correct answer: She had a great zest for music.
- তার সঙ্গীতের প্রতি আগ্রহ ছিল বোঝাতে Zest এর সাথে appropriate preposition হিসেবে "for" বসবে।

Zest for
- English meaning: invigorating or keen excitement or enjoyment.
- Bangla meaning: আগ্রহ।

Example sentence:
1. The artist's vibrant colors reflected her zest for life.
2. After retirement, she found a new zest for gardening.

- উল্লেখ্য বাকি তিনটি অপশনে "zest" এর সাথে in/on/to/ রূপে Appropriate Preposition এর কোন ব্যবহার নেই। তাই এগুলোতে Preposition এর সঠিক ব্যবহার হয়নি।

No sooner had - than , scarcely had – when , hardly had – before এর প্রথম অংশ Past Perfect and Verb এর Past Participle হয় এবং ২য় অংশে Past Indefinite হয়। যেমনঃ
