Sherlock Holmes is a fictional character created by the Scottish writer Sir A Conan Doyle. 

However, Conan Doyle did model Holmes’s methods and mannerisms on those of Dr. Joseph Bell, who had been his professor at the University of Edinburgh Medical School.

Arthur Conan Doyle, in full Sir Arthur Ignatius Conan Doyle was born in May 22 May 1859 Edinburgh, Scotland & died July 7 July 1930, Crowborough, Sussex, England.

He is a Scottish writer best known for his creation of the detective Sherlock Holmes—one of the most vivid and enduring characters in English fiction.
