Right form of Verbs

Correct Sentence: Would you mind explaining the problem again?

• Rules of  Would you mind:
- Would you mind এরপর verb এর মূল form এর সাথে ing যোগ করতে হয়।
- Structure: Would you mind + verb + ing + object + question mark(?)

Example Sentence:
1. Would you mind not talking during the meeting?
2. Would you mind helping me with this task?
3. Would you mind passing me the salt?

• Complete sentence: Have you ever swum in ice-cool water?

• Present perfect tense এর ক্ষেত্রে:
- বাক্যে just, just now, ever, never, always, occasionally, often, already, lately, recently, ইত্যাদি, adverb থাকলে Present perfect tense ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- Present perfect tense -এ verb এর past participle ব্যবহৃত হয়।

​• Structure: Subject + has/have + V3+ extension.

​- সুতরাং, প্রদত্ত বাক্যে 'ever' থাকায় শূন্যস্থানে verb এর past participle (swum) হবে।

• Causative Verb:
- Subject যখন নিযে কাজ না করে অন্যকে দিয়ে কাজ করায় তখন এই অর্থে Causative Verb ব্যবহার করা হয়ে থাকে।
- Have, Get, Help, Let, Make ইত্যাদি প্রচলিত Causative Verb.
- Make, Have, Get ইত্যাদি যোগে verb কে Causative Verb এ পরিনত করা হয়।

• Causative Verb হিসেবে Make এর ব্যবহার:
- Make এরপর ব্যক্তি বা বস্তু যাই থাকুক না কেন এরপর verb এর Base form বস।
- কেউকে কোন কিছু করতে বাধ্য করা অথবা Have, Get এর চেয়ে বেশি জোর প্রদান করতে Make ব্যবহার করা হয়ে থাকে।

• Correct Answer: The coach made the players do their drills every morning.

• More Example:
- She makes her kids brush their teeth before bed.
- My boss makes me stay late at work sometimes.

Complete sentence: No sooner had the bell rung than the teacher entered the room.
- 'No sooner had' এর পরে see এর Past Participle (rung) বসেছে than এর পরে Simple Past (entered) বসবে।

• কোন Sentence এ No sooner had.....than, Scarcely had.....when, Hardly had.....when থাকলে,
- প্রথম অংশ Past perfect tense অনুযায়ী হয়, অর্থাৎ verb-এর Past participle form হবে।
- দ্বিতীয় অংশ Past indefinite tense অনুযায়ী হয়, অর্থাৎ verb-এর Past form হয়।
- অর্থাৎ Structure টি দাঁড়ায়- No sooner had + Past Perfect + than + Simple Past.

• Complete sentence: It is time we took the exam seriously.

• It is time/ It is high time:
- It is time/ It is high time এরপর যদি subject থাকে তাহলে পরবর্তী verb টি past indefinite tense এ হয়।
- কোনো কিছু করার এখনই উপযুক্ত সময় অর্থে It is time/ It is high time ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- যেমন: It is time we took the exam seriously.

• নিয়মানুযায়ী, প্রদত্ত বাক্যে It is high time এর পরে subject আছে, তাই এর পরে verb এর past form (took) বসবে।

• More examples:
- It is high time we left the place.
- It is high time he changed his bad habits.

• তবে, It is time/It is high time এরপর যদি subject না থাকে তবে to + verb (Infinitive) হয়।
- যেমন: It is high time to stop corruption.

• সঠিক উত্তর হল ক) talk.
- উল্লিখিত বাক্যটি Imperative Sentence হওয়ায় verb এর base form হয়েছে। 
- এখানে verb হচ্ছে talk.

• Talk back (to somebody)
English meaning: rude remarks made when answering someone in authority.
Bangla meaning: (প্রায়ই answer back) স্পর্ধার সঙ্গে জবাব দেওয়া।

• Complete sentence: Don’t ever talk back to your teachers; it can hurt your reputation.

- Correct answer: was watching.
- Complete sentence: I fell asleep while I was watching TV.

• অতীতের দুটি সমসাময়িক ঘটনা while / when / as দ্বারা যুক্ত হলে while /when/ as যুক্ত অংশটি past continuous tense হয়, অপর অংশের হয় ভবিষ্যৎ কাল past indefinite. 
- তবে কখনো কখনো when যুক্ত অংশ past indefinite হলে অপর অংশ past continuous হয়।
- While দ্বারা দুইটি বাক্যাংশ যুক্ত হলে -
- While এর পূর্বে অংশ টি past indefinite এ হলে, এরপরের অংশে past continuous tense হয়।
- while যুক্ত অংশটি Past continuous tense হলে অপরটি Past indefinite tense হয়।

• Complete sentence: He knew everything about the topic. He must have studied a lot.
- Bangla meaning: সে বিষয়টি সম্পর্কে সবকিছুই জানত। সে নিশ্চয়ই অনেক পড়াশোনা করেছে।

• Must have:
- "Must have" is used to express a high level of certainty about something that happened in the past.
- অর্থাৎ, অতীতে কোনো কিছু ঘটে থাকবে এমন নিশ্চিত অনুমান বোঝাতে must have + verb -এর past participal ব্যবহার করা হয়।
- এক্ষেত্রে তার নম্বরগুলো দেখে নিশ্চিত অনুমান করা যাচ্ছে যে, সে কঠোর পরিশ্রম করেছে তাই এখানে "Must have" ব্যবহৃত হবে।

• Other options:
ক) might be
→ This is used for present, past or future probability, possibilities.
- অর্থাৎ, সাধারণ অনুমান বা সম্ভাবনা প্রকাশ করতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

গ) should have been
→ This expresses regret or expectation, not logical certainty.
- অর্থাৎ, অতীতে কোনো কিছু করা উচিত ছিল বুঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

ঘ) could have been
→ This is used to express possibility in the past (but it didn’t happen).
- অর্থাৎ, অতীতে কোনো কিছু ঘটতে পারতো কিন্তু ঘটেনি বুঝাতে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

◉ Complete sentence - The doctor will not permit him to play this weekend. 

Permit/allow someone to do something: 
- এই ক্ষেত্রে আমরা direct object + to-infinitive ব্যবহার করি।
- permit সাধারণত official notice বা formal situation এ বেশি ব্যবহৃত হয়, যেখানে allow more casual situations এ ব্যবহার করা হয়।
যেমন:
- The doctor permitted me to exercise. 
- Parents don't allow us to attend late-night parties. 

Let someone do something এর ক্ষেত্রে আমরা to ছাড়াই infinitive ব্যবহার করি। যেমন:
- Mom, please let me play for some more time. 
- We don’t let employees use the office telephone for personal calls.

Passive voice এ permit এবং allow এর ব্যবহার: 
- Photography is permitted for non-commercial use only.
- You’re allowed to eat as much fruit as you like.
