In full, Lines Composed a Few Miles Above Tintern Abbey is a poem by William Wordsworth. on Revisiting the Banks of the Wye during a Tour. July 13, 1798, he wrote this poem.
It opens with the speaker’s declaration that five years have passed since he last visited this location, encountered its tranquil, rustic scenery, and heard the murmuring waters of the river.
The line in the question, ''We are laid asleep in body and become a living soul'' is an excerpt from this poem.
