• John Keats's poem "Lamia" was inspired by - The Anatomy of Melancholy by Robert Burton.

• Lamia:
- এই narrative poem টি রচনা করেন John Keats.
- ১৮১৯ সালে লেখা এবং ১৮২০ সালে প্রকাশিত হয়েছিল।
- কবিতাটি Robert Burton এর Anatomy of Melancholy (1621) থেকে অনুপ্রাণিত।

• সার-সংক্ষেপ:
- Lamia ছিল এক সুন্দরী নারী, কিন্তু শাস্তির ফলে সে এক বিষাক্ত সাপে পরিণত হয়। দেবতা Hermes একদিন তার সাহায্য করলে Lamia আবার মানুষের রূপ ফিরে পায়।
- এরপর সে করিন্থ নগরীতে যায় এবং এক তরুণ Lycius এর প্রতি গভীর প্রেম অনুভব করে। Lamia তার জাদু দিয়ে Lycius কে মুগ্ধ করে এবং তারা একসাথে সুখের জীবন শুরু করে। Lycius প্রেমে অন্ধ হয়ে তার দার্শনিক শিক্ষক Apollonius এর উপদেশ অগ্রাহ্য করে এবং Lamia সাথে বিয়ে করার সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়।
- বিয়ের অনুষ্ঠানে Apollonius, Lamia এর আসল পরিচয় প্রকাশ করে এবং বলে যে সে এক সময় সাপ ছিল। সত্য ফাঁস হওয়ার সাথে সাথেই Lamia রহস্যময়ভাবে অদৃশ্য হয়ে যায়। Lycius এই শোকে মুহূর্তেই মারা যায়।

• John Keats:
- তিনি একজন British Poet এবং Romantic period এর লেখক।
- He is an English Romantic Lyric Poet who devoted his short life to the perfection of poetry marked by vivid imagery, great sensuous appeal, and an attempt to express a philosophy through classical legend.
