• In literature, the term "Connotation" refers to - The implied or suggested meaning of a word.

• Connotation:
- The indirect meaning of a word.
- অর্থাৎ connotation দ্বারা কোন শব্দের আক্ষরিক না বুঝিয়ে কোনো দ্বৈত অর্থের ব্যবহার বোঝায়।
- It is the suggestion or associated significance implied by a word.

• শব্দের অর্থের সাথে সম্পর্কিত অতিরিক্ত ধারণা বা অনুভূতি বোঝায়। 
- যখন একটি শব্দের ব্যবহার তার মূল বা নির্দিষ্ট অর্থের বাইরে অতিরিক্ত অর্থ বা অনুভূতি তৈরি করে, তখন তাকে কনোটেশন বলা হয়।

- Home is a place where, when you have to go there, they have to take you in. 
- Here, Home literally means a roofed structure to live in, but its connotative meaning, as it suggests here, may be peace, intimacy, family bond etc.
