Correct Answer: ঘ) The lion is not more strong than the tiger.

 • As ........ as যুক্ত Positive Degree-কে Comparative Degree- তে রূপান্তরিত করার নিয়ম:-
- শেষের Subject টি প্রথমে বসে,
- verb + not + Positive Degree--এর Comparative form,
- than + প্রদত্ত Sentence-এর প্রথম Subject. 

Other Options:
ক) The lion is not as strong as the tiger.
- not as strong as → এটি Positive Degree, Comparative নয়।

খ) The lion is less strong than the tiger.
- less strong than → অর্থ পরিবর্তন হয়ে গেছে।

গ) The lion is more strong than the tiger.
- more strong than → অর্থ পরিবর্তন হয়ে গেছে।

• Comparative to Superlative: 
- প্রদত্ত sentence এর subject ও verb বসে
- the বসে
- Comparative degree এর Superative form বসে
- other এর পরের অংশ বসে

Structure: Subject + verb + the + Comparative degree এর Superative form + other এর পরের অংশ।

Comparative: He is better than any other boy in the class. 
Superlative: He is the best boy in the class.

• No other যুক্ত Positive degree কে Superlative করার নিয়ম:
- প্রথমে no other বাদ যাবে।
- Object (Positive degree -এর পরের) টি Subject হয়ে বসবে।
- তারপর verb বসবে।
- এরপর the + superlative degree বসবে।
- no other এর পরের Subject টি Object হয়ে বসবে।
- বাকি অংশ বসবে।

- Superlative: The Nile is the longest river. 

Superlative: Shakespeare is the most influential of all playwrights.
Comparative: Shakespeare is more influential than all other playwrights.

• Of all যুক্ত sentence কে comparative করার নিয়ম - 
- প্রথম subject প্রথমেই + verb + superlative এর comparative form + than all other + বাকি অংশ। 

• Examples: 
- Superlative sentence: Shakespeare is the most influential of all playwrights.
- Comparative sentence: Shakespeare is more influential than all other playwrights.

অন্য Option গুলো ভুল:

ক) Shakespeare is more influential then all other playwrights.
- then → ভুল, comparative এ “than” ব্যবহার করতে হয়, “then” নয়।

খ) Shakespeare is more influential than most of other playwrights.
- most of other playwrights → grammatically ভুল।

ঘ) Shakespeare is more influential than all other playwright.
- all other playwright → “playwright” singular, কিন্তু এখানে “all other” বলে plural noun হওয়া দরকার, 'playwrights'.

• সঠিক উত্তর: খ) The rose is the finest of all flowers.

• Superlative degree-এর সঠিক নিয়ম অনুসারে:
- Superlative degree- এর পূর্বে Definite article “The” ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
- Superlative degree-এ (the + finest, the best, the most beautiful, etc) সবসময় the বসে।

- আবার, সমগ্র জাতি বুঝাতে singular noun -এর পূর্বে the বসাতে হয়।
- তাই 'Rose' -এর পূর্বে the বসবে।

- আবার, কোনো countable noun -এর পূর্বে 'all' বসলে এর পরে plural noun বসে।
- তাই, “of all” এর পরে  flowers (plural) বসবে।

- সুতরাং, নিয়মানুযায়ী সঠিক Superlative degree যুক্ত বাক্যটি হলো- খ) The rose is the finest of all flowers.

অন্যদিকে,
ক) Rose is the finest of all flowers.
→ subject-এর আগে “The” নেই → তাই ভুল (এখানে specific rose-এর কথা বলা হচ্ছে)।

গ) The rose is finest of all flowers.
→ Superlative-এর আগে the নেই → তাই ভুল।

ঘ) The rose is the finest of all flower.
→ “flower” singular → তাই এটিও ভুল।

বয়স বা সংখ্যার ক্ষেত্রে only এর পরিবর্তে not more than/not less than বসে৷ যেমন-
Affirmative: Jimi was only twenty two.
Negative: Jimi was not more than twenty two.

• One of the যুক্ত Superlative Degree কে Comparative Degree তে রূপান্তরের নিয়ম:
- প্রদত্ত Sentence এর sub এবং verb বসে।
- One of the উঠে যায়।
- Superlative Degree এর Comparative form বসে।
- than most other বসে।
- প্রদত্ত sentence এর বাকী অংশ বসে।

• Comparative Degree:
Comparative Degree তখন ব্যবহার করা হয় যখন দুটি জিনিসের মধ্যে একটিকে অপরটির চেয়ে বেশি বা কম দেখানো হয়।
- বাক্যে Adjective/Adverb-এর comparative form (‑er / more / less) + than ব্যবহার করা হয়।
 
Structure:
- adjective + er + than
- more + adjective + than
- than any other / than all other / than most other

- প্রশ্নের উল্লিখিত বাক্য: English is easier to learn than French.
- বাংলা অর্থ: ইংরেজি ফরাসি ভাষার চেয়ে শেখা সহজ। 
→ "easier … than" দিয়ে স্পষ্টভাবে Comparative Degree ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। 
 
Other Options:
ক) His speech was the shortest. → Superlative.
খ) This is the least important point. → Superlative.
গ) She is not as patient as her mother. → Positive.

• The correct answer is - This is the most difficult question.

• Superlative Degree এর ক্ষেত্রে:
- "the most/the best/the least" শব্দগুলো ব্যবহার করা হয়।

• Example:
- The mountain is the highest in the region.
- Her paragraph is the most interesting in the class.

• Positive Degree- তে "Very few....as...as/so....as....." অথবা "No other.....as....as...." বসে।
- Example:
01. Very few students are as brilliant as Rahim.

• Comparative Degree- তে "than any other/than all other/than most other" বসে।
- Example:
01. This car is faster than that one - Comparative Degree.

• উল্লিখিত বাকি অপশনগুলো,
ক) This question is more difficult than any other.
- এখানে comparative degree ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে।
- "more difficult than any other" মানে এই প্রশ্নটি অন্য সব প্রশ্নের থেকে বেশি কঠিন, কিন্তু এখানে সরাসরি "সবচেয়ে কঠিন" বলা হয়নি।
- এটি তুলনামূলক বাক্য, Superlative নয়।

খ) No other question is as difficult as this.
- এখানে একটি তুলনামূলক বাক্য (comparative sentence) ব্যবহার হয়েছে।
- "as difficult as" অর্থাৎ "এতটা কঠিন নয় যতটা এইটা", যা তুলনা করছে।
- এটি Superlative নয়।

গ) Very few questions are as difficult as this.
- এখানে সংখ্যার পরিমাণ (Very few) দিয়ে তুলনা করা হয়েছে।
- "as difficult as this" বাক্যাংশ comparative structure।
- এটিও সরাসরি কোনো একটি প্রশ্নকে সর্বোচ্চ গুণের অধিকারী হিসেবে ঘোষণা করছে না, তাই Superlative নয়।

এ রকম Positive Degree যুক্ত বাক্যের সঠিক Comparative ২ ভাবে হতে পারে।
প্রথম পদ্ধতি:
1. Subject- Object হয়, Object - Subject হয়।
2. Affirmative -Negative হয়, Negative- Affirmative হয়।
3. Degree change হয়।(r/er/ more যোগ হবে)
4. Indicator Change হয় (as... as/ so....as --> than)।
এ নিয়মে সঠিক উত্তর - Mita is not more industrious than Dipa.
অন্য নিয়ম হচ্ছে more এর পরিবর্তে less যোগ করা। আর তখন “Subject- Object হয়, Object - Subject হয়” এ কাজ প্রযোজ্য হবে না।
এ নিয়মে সঠিক উত্তর - Dipa is not less industrious than Mita.
তাই সঠিক উত্তর (খ)।

• Positive: Very few universities are as eminent as Caltech.
• Superlative: Caltech is one of the most eminent universities.

• Positive to superlative: নিয়মানুযায়ী, 
- Positive degree তে very থাকলে Superlative degree তে one of the + superlative হয়। 
- প্রথমে positive এর Object টি Superlative বাক্যের Subject এ পরিণত হয়।
- তারপর Indicator পরিবর্তন ঘটে, 'Very few' ও 'as-as' উঠে তার পরিবর্তে one of the বসে। 
- Positive degree এর superlative form বসে। 
- তারপর Subject টি Object হিসেবে শেষে বসে।

More Example:
Positive: Very few cars are as luxurious as Rolls-Royce.
Superlative: Rolls-Royce is one of the most luxurious cars.

• One of the যুক্ত Superlative Degree কে Comparative Degree তে রূপান্তরের নিয়ম:
- প্রদত্ত Sentence এর sub এবং verb বসে।
- One of the উঠে যায়।
- Superlative Degree এর Comparative form বসে।
- than most other বসে।
- প্রদত্ত sentence এর বাকী অংশ বসে। 

• Superlative Degree: Dhaka is one of the busiest cities in Bangladesh.
• Comparative Degree: Dhaka is busier than most other cities in Bangladesh.

Positive: Very few seasons in Bangladesh are as pleasant as spring.
Comparative: Spring is more pleasant than most other seasons in Bangladesh.

- Very few যুক্ত Positive Degree কে Comparative Degree-তে পরিণত করার ক্ষেত্রে Positive Degree এর Comparative form + than most other বসে।
 
• Very few যুক্ত Positive Degree কে Comparative Degree-তে পরিণত করার নিয়ম:
- প্রদত্ত Sentence-এর শেষের Subject + Verb বসে।
- এরপর Positive Degree এর Comparative form বসে।
- তারপর than most other বসে।
- তারপর very few-এর পর থেকে verb-এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত অংশ।
- উল্লেখ্য যে, than most other এর পরে plural noun বসে।

এ ধরনের sentence কে দুইভাবে comparative degree করা যায়। Subject অপরিবর্তিত রেখে less দিয়ে comparative degree করা যায়।
অথবা প্রদত্ত বাক্যের শেষের noun/pronounটিকে subject বানিয়ে গতানুগতিকভাবে more যোগ করে অথবা শব্দের শেষে –er যোগ করে comparative degree করা যায়।
Degree change করার সময় affirmative sentenceগুলো negative হয়ে যায়।

Correct Answer: ক) This is the most difficult question.

• Degrees of Comparison তিন প্রকার:
১) Positive Degree
২) Comparative Degree
৩) Superlative Degree

১. Superlative Degree
বৈশিষ্ট্য: কোনো কিছুকে সবচেয়ে বেশি বা সর্বোচ্চ মাত্রায় প্রকাশ করা হয়।
ব্যবহৃত শব্দ: the most / the best / the least / the highest / the tallest ইত্যাদি।

Structure:
- সাধারণত the + most/adjective-est + noun.
উদাহরণ:
- This is the most difficult question.
- Mount Everest is the highest mountain in the world.
- He is the best student in the school.

২. Positive Degree
বৈশিষ্ট্য: দুটি বা তার বেশি জিনিসের মধ্যে সমান মাত্রা প্রকাশ করা হয়।
ব্যবহৃত শব্দ: as...as / so...as.

Structure:
- Very few + plural noun + as/so + adjective + as.
- No other + noun + as/so + adjective + as.
উদাহরণ:
- No other question is as difficult as this.
- Very few students are as brilliant as Rahim.
- Rahim is as tall as Karim.

৩. Comparative Degree
বৈশিষ্ট্য: দুটি জিনিসের মধ্যে একটিকে অপরটির চেয়ে বেশি বা কম দেখানো হয়।
ব্যবহৃত শব্দ: more...than / -er...than.

Structure:
- adjective + er + than
- more + adjective + than
- than any other / than all other / than most other
উদাহরণ:
This car is faster than that one.
This question is more difficult than any other.

Other options:
- খ)No other question is as difficult as this. - Positive Degree , "as…as" দিয়ে তৈরি।
- গ)Very few questions are as difficult as this. - Positive Degree, "very few … as…as" দিয়ে তৈরি।
- ঘ)This question is more difficult than any other. - Comparative Degree, "more … than" দিয়ে তৈরি।

আলোচ্য বাক্যটিতে Shakib এককভাবে সবচেয়ে সেরা নয়; তার মত great আরো কেউ কেউ আছে।
তাই comparative degree তে ‘greater than all other players/ greater than any other player’ বললে ভুল হবে; বলতে হবে greater than most other players।
এক্ষেত্রে most other এর পরে সর্বদা plural noun ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
তাই সঠিক উত্তর - গ) Shakib is greater than most other players in the world.

• Very few যুক্ত Positive Degree কে Superlative Degree তে রূপান্তরের নিয়ম:
- প্রদত্ত Sentence টির শেষের Subject প্রথমে বসে।
- verb বসে।
- one of the বসে।
- Positive Degree এর Superlative form বসে।
- Very few এরপর থেকে verb এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত অংশ বসে।

• Structure: প্রদত্ত Sentence টির শেষের Subject প্রথমে বসে + verb + one of the + Positive Degree এর Superlative form + Very few এরপর থেকে verb এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত অংশ বসে।

• Positive Degree: Very few girls in the class are as intelligent as Rina.
• Superlative Degree: Rina is one of the most intelligent girls in the class.

বাক্যের অর্থ: মুক্তা মালাও তার দাঁতগুলোর মত এত উজ্জ্বল ছিল না।
যখন not-যুক্ত কোন Positive degree-এর বাক্যে দুটি ব্যক্তি/বস্তুর মধ্যে বৈশিষ্ট্যর তারতম্য বোঝায়, তখন নিচের নিয়মে সেটিকে Comparative করতে হয়।
২য় noun/noun phrase+ be+ adjective (comparative) +than + ১ম noun/noun phrase
তাই, সঠিক উত্তর হবে Her teeth were brighter than a string of pearls (তাঁর দাঁতগুলো.মুক্তা মালার চাইতেও উজ্জ্বলতর ছিল।)

- প্রদত্ত Sentence এর শেষের Subject টি প্রথমে বসে।

- No other এরপর থেকে Verb এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত বসে।

• Positive Degree: No other player on the team is as fast as Karim.
• Comparative Degree: Karim is faster than any other player on the team.

• Comparative degree তে সবচেয়ে বড় বুঝাতে than any other বা than all other ব্যবহৃত হয়। 
- Than all other এরপর plural noun বসে এবং than any other এর পর singular noun বসে।
- Structure:  Comparative degree + (than any other + singular noun) / (than all other + plural noun) বসে।

- তাই নিয়মানুযায়ী, সঠিক উত্তর - all other
- complete sentence: He is faster than all other runners in the race.
- কারণ এখানে plural noun runners আছে তাই এর পূর্বে all other বসেছে।

Superlative: Iron is the most useful of all metals.
Comparative: Iron is more useful than all other metals.

• Of all যুক্ত sentence কে comparative করার নিয়ম - 
- প্রথম subject প্রথমেই + verb + superlative এর comparative form + than all other + বাকি অংশ। 

• Examples: 
- Superlative sentence: Shakespeare is the most influential of all playwrights.
- Comparative sentence: Shakespeare is more influential than all other playwrights.

• অন্যদিকে,
One of the যুক্ত superlative কে Comparative করতে -
- Superlative sentence এর প্রথম subject টি প্রথমে বসে + verb বসবে +এরপর one of the বাদ যাবে + superlative degree এর comparative form বসে + than most other বসবে এবং সবশেষে superlative sentence টির বাকি অংশ বসবে। 
- যেমন -
Superlative: He is one of the tallest boys in the class.
Comparative: He is taller than most other boys in the class.

Other options,

খ) Iron is more useful then all other metals. 
- "then" ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে - এটি ভুল। Comparison-এ সবসময় "than" ব্যবহার হয়, "then" নয়।"Than" = তুলনা করার জন্য।
- "Then" = সময় বোঝাতে (যেমন: first... then...).

গ) Iron is more useful than most other metals. 
- “most other metals” অর্থ পরিবর্তন করে (মানে দাঁড়ায় সবগুলোর মধ্যে নয়, অধিকাংশের থেকে বেশি)।

ঘ) Iron is more useful then of the all other metals.
- "then" এবং "of the all" - দুটোই ভুল। "Than" হবে এবং "all other" হবে, "of the all other" নয়।

Correct answer: The elephant is the largest of all animals.

• Superlative degree-এর সঠিক নিয়ম অনুসারে:
- Superlative degree- এর পূর্বে Definite article “The” ব্যবহার করতে হবে।
- Superlative degree-এ (the+ finest, the best, the most beautiful, etc) সবসময় the বসে।
- আবার, সমগ্র জাতি বুঝাতে singular noun -এর পূর্বে the বসাতে হয়।
- তাই 'Elephant' -এর পূর্বে the বসবে।
- আবার, কোনো countable noun -এর পূর্বে 'all' বসলে এর পরে plural noun বসে।
- তাই, “of all” এর পরে animals (plural) বসবে।

Other options:

ক) Elephant is the largest of all animals.
- ভুল কারণ "Elephant" দ্বারা সমগ্র জাতি বোঝালেও তার পূর্বে article "The" ব্যবহার করা হয়নি।

গ) The elephant is largest of all animals.
- ভুল কারণ, (Superlative degree) "largest"  এর পূর্বে definite article "the" ব্যবহার করা হয়নি।

ঘ) The elephant is the largest of all animal.
- ভুল কারণ, নিয়ম অনুযায়ী "all" এর পরে plural noun বসবে। এখানে "all" এর পরে singular noun "animal" ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে।

Positive Degree:
- Positive Degree হলো কোনো adjective বা adverb-এর সাধারণ বা মূল রূপ, যেখানে তুলনা করা হয় না।

ক) This is the most interesting book. → Superlative Degree (most interesting → সর্বোচ্চ মাত্রা বোঝাচ্ছে)।
খ) Very few books are as interesting as this. → Positive Degree (as … as structure ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে)।
গ) This book was very much interesting than that one. → Grammatically incorrect (এখানে very much interesting than ভুল structure)।

Correct sentence: The richer the person is, the more privilege he enjoys.
- Double comparative বা যত তত  বুঝাতে দুইটি Adverb এর প্রত্যেকটির পূর্বে the বসে।

- Double Comparative এর নিয়ম:
- সাধারণত comparative form এর পূর্বে The বসে না।
- তবে Double comparative বা বাংলা বাক্যে, যত তত বা আনুপাতিক হ্রাস-বৃদ্ধি বুঝাতে দুইটি adverb comparative এর প্রত্যেকটির পূর্বে the বসে।
- অর্থাৎ The + comparative + ---, the + comparative + --- structure টি ব্যবহৃত হয়।
