• Gerund:
- Gerund হল এমন একটি শব্দ যা verb + ing যুক্ত হয়ে Noun এর মতো কাজ করে।
- অর্থাৎ, এটি দেখতে verb-এর মতো হলেও বাক্যে Noun হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• Gerund এর ব্যবহার:
- Subject হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হলে।
- Object হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হলে।
- Preposition এর object হিসেবে বসে।
- Verb এর Complement হিসেবে বসে।

• প্রদত্ত Sentence টিতে 'Read' (Verb) এর সাথে ing যুক্ত হয়ে Noun (Subject হিসেবে) এর মতো কাজ করেছে অর্থাৎ verb ও noun এর কাজ করে তখন তাকে Gerund বলে।
- সহজ ভাষায়, Gerund = Verb + ing = Noun = Verb + Noun.

• Correct Answer: Reading books regularly is an excellent habit. Here, 'Reading' is a/an - Gerund.

• উল্লিখিত বাকি অপশনগুলো;
ক) she went away dancing.
ঘ) The film is really boring.
- অপশনের মধ্যে Dancing এবং Boring হচ্ছে Participle.

• Participle:
- A participle is a verb that ends in -ing (present participle) or -ed, -d, -t, -en, -n (past participle).
- Participles may function as adjectives, describing or modifying nouns.
- Participle একই সাথে Verb ও Adjective এর কাজ করে।

• Participle মূলত: তিন প্রকার:
1. Present Participle. Ex: The story is thrilling.
2. Past Participle. Ex: This is a book written by Charles Dickens.
3. Perfect Participle. Ex: Having gained the truth, keep the truth.

- গ) অপশনে Riding হচ্ছে বাক্যের মূল verb.
