2. Past participle

3. Perfect participle

• অতীতকালের দুটি ঘটনার মধ্যে যেটি আগে ঘটে সেটি Past perfect tense হয় এবং পরেরটি Past indefinite tense হয়।
- Before এর আগের বাক্য এবং after এর পরের বাক্য Past Perfect Tense হয়।
- Before এর আগের বাক্যে Past Perfect Tense হলে, পরের বাক্যে Past Indefinite Tense হবে।

• No sooner had, Hardly had, Scarcely had এবং As soon as সবগুলোই 'করতে না করতেই/ হতে না হতেই' অর্থে ব্যবহার করা হয়।

• নিয়ম অনুসারে,

• Perfect Participle

• উল্লিখিত প্রশ্নে;
- "Having finishing the project, she went home." এই বাক্যে ভুল participle ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে। অর্থাৎ এখানে Perfect Participle ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে, কিন্তু ভুলভাবে।

• Correct answer: Having finished the project, she went home.

- কারণ: Perfect Participle এর গঠন: Having + Past Participle, কিন্তু "Finishing" হল Present Participle আর "Finished" হল Past Participle.
- তাই "Having finished" হবে এই বাক্যে সঠিক রূপ।

• উল্লিখিত বাকি বাক্যগুলোতে Participle এর সঠিকভাবে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে:
ক) I helped a drowning man, - সঠিক (drowning - Present Participle).
খ) The broken glass cut his finger - সঠিক (broken - Past Participle).

• Correct Sentence- Neither John nor his friends are going to the beach today.

• এখানে "Neither --- nor" Co-relative Conjunction ব্যবহার করা হয়েছে।
- Neither --- nor দ্বারা দুইটা Noun/ Pronoun যুক্ত হলে শেষের noun/ pronoun অনুযায়ী verb বসে।
- যেহেতু প্রশ্নে উল্লিখিত বাক্যের শেষে his friends আছে, plural noun আছে, তাই এখানে ‍are হয়েছে।
- "Neither --- nor" expresses a negative relationship between two elements.

• Structure:
• [Either/neither] + noun + [or/nor] + singular noun + singular verb.
- Neither the salesmen nor the marketing manager is in favor of the system.

• [Either/neither] + noun + [or/nor] + plural noun + plural verb.

• As if/ As though যুক্ত sentence এর ব্যবহার:
- As if/ As though এর পূর্বে Present Indefinite Tense থাকলে as if/ as though এর পরে Past Indefinite Tense হয় এবং Be verb থাকলে সব সময় were হয়।
