- verb+ing যখন adjective এর কাজ করে তখন তাকে present participle বলা হয়।

• Participle মূলত: তিন প্রকার:
1. Present Participle. Ex: Do not disturb a sleeping dog.
2. Past Participle. Ex: This is a book written by Charles Dickens.
3. Perfect Participle. Ex: Having eaten rice, he went to bed.

- সাধারণত মূল Verb-এর সাথে ed যুক্ত হয়ে past participle গঠিত হয়, যেমন work-worked।
- কিন্তু অনেক ক্ষেত্রে ed যুক্ত না হয়েও past participle গঠিত হতে পারে।
- যেমন: go-gone.
- Past Participle Verb সহ adjective হিসেবেও ব্যবহৃত হতে পারে।
