English Meaning:
1. (Of a substance) soft and easy to bend or move when you press it.
2. (of a person) willing to do what other people want.
Bangla Meaning:
(১) প্রাকৃতিক রীতিতে উৎপাদন করা বা উৎপন্ন হওয়া: trees yield us fruits. Diligence yields good results; high-yielding seeds.
(২) yield (to somebody/something) আত্মসমর্পণ করা; বিরোধিতা করা থেকে বিরত হওয়া: I shall not yield to your temptation. The miscreants yielded to strong measures.
yield (up) something (to somebody) ত্যাগ করা; বশ্যতা স্বীকার করা: The opponents would not yield an inch. He was pressed to yield.
yield up the ghost (সাহিত্যিক আলংকারিক অর্থ) মারা যাওয়া।
□ (noun) [countable noun, uncountable noun] উৎপন্ন বস্তুর পরিমাণ: This year the farmers had good yield from the fields; yield per hectare. The yield in the industrial sector is far from satisfactory.
