The government has declared the beauty services sector of Bangladesh as an industrial sector. This was announced in a circular issued on June 6.
It is to be noted that the beauty sector is currently a potential sector for small and medium scale industries in Bangladesh. There are small and big beauty parlors, salons and spas in 64 districts of the country. At present the number of registered parlors is about three and a half lakh. In addition, there are about five lakh men's parlors and salons. There are at least one million women in the management of women's parlors, salons and spars. 18 percent of the total number of women workers in Bangladesh are working in parlors. The turnover of this sector is currently five hundred crore rupees.

The Bangladesh Embassy in Kathmandu has translated and published the autobiography 'Prison Diary' of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Nepali.
According to the Bangladesh embassy, the embassy, in collaboration with the Nepal Academy, a top cultural institution under Nepal's Ministry of Culture, took the initiative to translate the 'prison diary' into Nepali. This is going to be Bangladesh's first preferential trade agreement with SAARC friendly country Bhutan. The Ministry of Law has completed the vetting of the agreement. Now the National Board of Revenue (NBR) is analyzing their views. All preparations have been made to complete the contract by the end of August or the first week of September. The Ministry of Commerce considers this to be a historic agreement and a milestone in Bangladesh's trade and commerce. No free trade or preferential trade agreement has been signed with any country before.
