Bangladesh ranks first in South Asia in the national cyber security index.
Bangladesh has advanced by 27 stages in the National Cyber Security Index prepared by the Estonia-based e-Governance Academy Foundation. Bangladesh has climbed to 36th place in the report, which considers the state of cyber security and digital development in 180 nations around the world. Bangladesh was ranked 85th in the December 2020 index.

The National Cyber Security Index (NCSI) was established to evaluate basic cyberattack preparedness, cyber events, criminal activity, and major crisis management efforts.

The Taliban made a surprise announcement, banning the use of all foreign currency across the country.

The government has signed a $260 million loan agreement with the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to build a bridge crossing the Brahmaputra River in Mymensingh.

To reduce traffic congestion on the existing Shambhuganj Bridge over the Brahmaputra River, the Roads and Highways Department (RHD) will build the proposed Kewatkhali Bridge on the river, says a press release.

According to the release, the construction of the new bridge is expected to facilitate road connectivity between several districts of Mymensingh division and land ports, EPZs, and economic zones in the region. Construction is scheduled to be completed by June 2025.

Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen has said Bangladesh will soon receive around 5 million AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine doses from Poland and Saudi Arabia as gift.
Bangladesh will get around 1.5 million doses of the vaccine from Saudi Arabia.
Poland will provide 3.3 million AstraZeneca vaccine doses to Bangladesh free of cost, he said, adding that these are being shipped. Poland donated these vaccine doses through the European Union.

Global credit ratings agency Fitch said Bangladesh's economy would grow 7 percent in the current fiscal year, powered by declining coronavirus infections and easing of supply chain disruptions.

The agency is more bullish about the growth potential of the country compared to many other international organizations.

The International Monetary Fund has forecast 6.5 per cent gross domestic product growth for 2021-22, while the World Bank estimates the economy will expand by 6.4 per cent and the Asian Development Bank by 6.8 per cent.

The World Health Organization (WHO) has released its annual Global tuberculosis (TB) report for the year 2021 which is the second deadliest infectious killer after COVID-19 in the world.

The October earnings were 13.7% higher than the amount earned in September.
Bangladesh has recorded its highest ever single-month export earnings amounting to $4.72 billion in October, thanks to a strong rebound in demand for apparels in western countries ahead of festival season and supply disruptions from key competitors that faced fresh waves of pandemic.
The export receipts surpassed the $3.46 billion target set for the month, registering a whopping 60.37% year-on-year growth, according to provisional data of the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB) released on Tuesday.
 
Apparel shipment grew by 53.27% to $3.56 billion year-on-year in October, raising the total export earnings to $15.74 billion in the first four months of this fiscal year.
