♦ Volpone:
- নাটকটির পুরো নাম Volpone; Or, the Fox.
- এটি একটি 5-act drama.
- এটি Ben Jonson লিখিত একটি comedy play.
- এটি 1607 সালে প্রকাশিত হয়।
- It is a story about how a wealthy Venetian without heirs, devises a scheme to become wealthier by playing on people’s greed.
- With the complicity of his servant Mosca, Volpone pretends to be near death.
- He accepts valuable gifts from three fortune hunters.
- Mosca gives assurance to each of whom that he alone is to inherit all of Volpone’s wealth.

• Ben Jonson:
- তিনি একজন English writer.
- তিনি একাধারে English Stuart dramatist, lyric poet এবং literary critic.
- তাকে Father of Comedy of Humours বলা হয়।

♦ King Lear:
- এটি Shakespeare লিখিত একটি tragedy.
- এটি five acts বিশিষ্ট।
- 1608 সালে প্রকাশিত হয়।
- Lear তার তিন কন্যা Goneril, Regan এবং Cordelia এর মাঝে তার kingdom ভাগ করে দেওয়ার সিদ্ধান্ত নেন।
- তখন তিনি তার তিন কন্যা কে কিছু প্রশ্ন করে, সেসব প্রশ্নের উত্তরের উপর ভিত্তি করে তিনি তার সব কিছু বড় ও মেঝ কন্যার নামে করে দেয় ও ছোট কন্যা Cordelia কে বঞ্চিত করে।
- এই সিদ্ধান্তটি ছিল খুবই ভুল, যার ফল তাকে ভোগ করতে হয়।
- এসব কাহিনীর উপর ভিত্তি করে নানা ঘটনা প্রবাহের মধ্য দিয়ে কাহিনীটি এগিয়ে যায়।
- The main theme in this play is 'the error of judgement'.

♦ Andrew Marvell:
- তার জন্ম 1621 সালে, Winestead, Yorkshire, England, মৃত্যু August 18, 1678.
- তিনি মূলত: রেঁনেসা যুগের অন্তর্গত, Commonwealth period এর একজন poet.
- এছাড়া তিনি Metaphysical Poets দের অন্যতম। 
- He is now considered to be one of the best Metaphysical poets.

- To His Coy Mistress,
- The Garden.

♦ The Atheist’s Tragedy:
- এটির পুরো নাম The Atheist's Tragedy, or the Honest Man's Revenge।
- এটি প্রকাশিত হয় 1607 সালে।
- The Revenger’s Tragedy, which is sometimes attributed to Tourneur, appeared anonymously in 1607.
- In 1656 the bookseller Edward Archer entered it as by Tourneur on his list.

• Cyril Tourneur:
- তিনি Jacobean Period এর একজন লেখক।
- তিনি একজন English dramatist.

• His notable works are:
- The Atheist’s Tragedy.

♦ Cavalier poets: 
-A group of lyric poets associated with the Cavaliers are called Cavalier Poets.
- তাদেরকে Sons of Ben ও বলা হতো।
- কারণ তারা ছিলেন সাহিত্যিক Ben Jonson এর অনুগামী।

• They are:
-Richard Lovelace,
-Sir John Suckling,
-Robert Herrick,
-Thomas Carew,
-Edmund Waller. 

সুতরাং দেখা যাচ্ছে, অপশনে প্রদত্ত চারজন সাহিত্যিকের মধ্যে ব্যতিক্রম হলেন Cyril Tourneur; কেবলমাত্র ‍তিনিই এখানে  Cavalier poets এর অন্তর্ভুক্ত নন। 

Cyril Tourneur
-  আইরিশ বংশোদ্ভুত লেখক। 
-  তবে তিনি English Dramatist হিসেবেই পরিচিত।
