- Principal clause এর কাজ সম্পাদান হওয়া বা না হওয়ার কারণকে বুঝায়।
- Adverbial Clause of reason টি Conjunction দিয়ে শুরু হয়। যেমন: As, Since, For, Because, That ইত্যাদি।
- Conjunctions বাক্যের শুরুতে বসলে এগুলো দিয়ে শুরু করে কমা পর্যন্ত Adverbial Clause হয় এবং বাকি অংশ Principal Clause হয়। যেমন: Because he was tired, he went to bed early.
- আবার Conjunctions বাক্যের মাঝে বসলে এগুলো থেকে শুরু করে বাক্যের শেষ পর্যন্ত Adverbial Clause হয় এবং বাকি অংশ Principle Clause হয়। যেমন: He went to bed early because he was tired .
- Adverbial Clause of reason, Principle Clause এর আগে বা পরে বসানো হয়।
- আগে বসলে Clause এ শেষে কমা বসে, পরে বসলে কমা বসে না।

• Correct Answer: She left early because she was tired. Here, the underlined clause is a/ an - Adverbial Clause.

• Note:
01. Since এবং As এর পরিবর্তে Seeing that ব্যবহার করা যেতে পারে যখন তা দ্বারা in view of the fact এর অর্থ প্রকাশ পায়। যেমন:
- Seeing that the room is already full, the meeting may begin now.

02. So যোগ করে Adverbial clause of reason যুক্ত Complex sentence কে দুটি Principal clause এ প্রকাশ করা যায়। যেমন:
(a) Since it was too dark to go on, we camped there.

• The required answer is - Look down upon.

• Verb Phrase
- যে phrase verb এর কাজ করে তাকে Verb Phrase বলে।
- Example: Do not look down upon the poor.
- বাক্যটিতে Look down upon অর্থ হলো ঘৃণা করা বা Hate.
- তাহলে দেখা যাচ্ছে যে, Look down upon এই তিনটি word একত্রে মিলে একটি মাত্র verb Hate এর কাজ করছে।

• Subordinate Clause:
- যে Clause এ একটি subject & একটি Finite verb থাকার পরেও পূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশের জন্যে Principal Clause এর উপর নির্ভরশীল তাকে Subordinate Clause বলে।

• Subordinate Clause তিন প্রকার। যথা-
1. Noun Clause.
2. Adjective Clause.
3. Adverbial Clause.

• Subordinate Clause সাধারণত নিম্নলিখিত Word গুলো দিয়ে আরম্ভ হয়;
- Who, When, How, Where, Which, If, As, Although, That, Why, So that, In order that, Whom, Hardly, Scarcely, Barely, No sooner,

• who helped me yesterday; এই clause টি সম্পূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশ করছে না।
- অর্থ প্রকাশের জন্য অন্য একটি Principal Clause  (I met the man) এর উপর নির্ভরশীল।
- তাই এটি একটি Subordinate Clause.

• Vehement (Adjective)
- English Meaning: Showing strong feeling; forceful, passionate, or intense.
- Bangla Meaning: (অনুভূতি) (ব্যক্তি, ব্যক্তির কথা, আচরণ ইত্যাদি) প্রবল; প্রচণ্ড; উদ্দাম; ব্যগ্র; উৎকট;  আবেগোদ্দীপ্ত।

• Synonym: Emphatic, Vigorous, Aggressive, Violent.
• Antonym: Mild, Unemphatic, Weak, Ambiguous.

- Subject যখন নিযে কাজ না করে অন্যকে দিয়ে কাজ করায় তখন এই অর্থে Causative Verb ব্যবহার করা হয়ে থাকে।
- Have, Get, Help, Let, Make ইত্যাদি প্রচলিত Causative Verb.
- Make, Have, Get ইত্যাদি যোগে verb কে Causative Verb এ পরিনত করা হয়।

• Causative Verb হিসেবে Make এর ব্যবহার:
- Make এরপর ব্যক্তি বা বস্তু যাই থাকুক না কেন এরপর verb এর Base form বস।
- কাউকে কোন কিছু করতে বাধ্য করা অথবা Have, Get এর চেয়ে বেশি জোর প্রদান করতে Make ব্যবহার করা হয়ে থাকে।

• Principal clause:
- A principal clause is a group of words that contains both a subject and a predicate (verb) and expresses a complete thought.
- অর্থাৎ, যে clause এ subject + verb থাকে এবং নিজে নিজেই সম্পূর্ন অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে পারে, অন্য কোনো clause এর উপর dependent নয় তাকে Principal clause বলে।

• Key Characteristics of a Principal Clause:
- Subject থাকবে।
- Predicate (Verb) থাকবে।
- Complete Thought প্রকাশ করবে।
- Can Stand Alone. অর্থাৎ, অন্য কোনো clause এর নির্ভরশীল নয়, একাই সম্পূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশ করবে।

• প্রদত্ত বাক্যটি "He finished his homework." একটি Principal Clause. কারণ,
- Subject: He আছে;
- Verb: finished আছে;
- Complete thought প্রকাশ করে;
- Can stand alone - অর্থাৎ, অন্য কোনো clause এর নির্ভরশীল নয়, একাই সম্পূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশ করে।

- সুতরাং, এটি একটি Principal clause এর উদাহরণ।

• বাকি অপশনসমূহ,
ক) "Call me when you arrive."
- Principal clause: "Call me"
- Subordinate clause: "when you arrive" (dependent adverb clause).
- So, it has both principal and subordinate clauses.

খ) "No sooner had I arrived than the show started."
- This is a correlative structure ("no sooner...than") with two clauses:
- "No sooner had I arrived" (principal clause)
- "than the show started" (subordinate clause).

ঘ) "I will help you if you need me."
- Principal clause: "I will help you"
- Subordinate clause: "if you need me" (dependent adverb clause).
- So, it has both principal and subordinate clauses.
