- The narrative of this type of novel is carried forward by letters written by one or more of the characters of that novel.

• Picaresque Novel:
- A novel that tells the story of a rascal or knave who moves from place to place for adventures and fights his evil antagonists is called - Picaresque Novel.
- অর্থাৎ, Picaresque Novel বলতে এমন ধরনের Novel বোঝায় যেখানে Novel এর প্রধান চরিত্র একজন rascal or knave যে এক স্থান থেকে অন্য স্থানে adventures এর জন্য ঘুরে বেড়ায় এবং তার evil antagonist দের বিরুদ্ধে বিদ্রোহ করে।
- এই ধরনের Novel গুলো manner এর দিক থেকে realistic এবং aim এর দিক থেকে satiric. 

• Gothic Novel:
- A form of prose narrative which comprises wild and horrific incidents can be termed as Gothic Novel.
- ভৌতিক উপাদান এবং ডার্ক থিম সমৃদ্ধ হয় এই উপন্যাসগুলো।

- A novel that depicts in its plot the customs, dialects and ways of life of a specific rural region.

• "The sun smiled down on us."

- এটি Chinua Achebe লিখিত প্রথম novel.
- Chinua Achebe একজন Nigerian author তাই এটি Nigerian literature এর অন্তর্ভূক্ত।

- Harold Pinter wrote this play.
- এটি একটি three-act play.

 • Catharsis.
- The purgation or purification of pity and fear in tragedies is known as Catharsis.
- অর্থাৎ, এটি সাধারণত Drama এবং Tragedy এর সাথে সম্পর্কিত।
- Catharsis - যার অর্থ আবেগমুক্তি।
- A dramatic presentation of suffering or death arouses pity and fear in the spectators to such an extent that, they after watching such scenes, feel relieved of those harmful emotions.
- Catharsis,  meaning “cleansing” in Greek, refers to a literary theory first developed by the philosopher Aristotle, who believed that cleansing our emotions was the purpose of a good story, especially a tragedy.

• Apostrophe: (সম্বোধন অলঙ্কার)
- An address to someone absent or something abstract as if the person or the thing were present.
- অর্থাৎ, অনুপস্থিত কোনো ব্যাক্তি বা বস্তুকে সম্বোধন করে তারঁ উদ্দেশ্যে কিছু বলা।
- By using an apostrophe, a speaker turns from the audience to address a single person or thing.
- এটা এক ধরনের Personification ।
- এখানে লেখক প্রানহীন, নির্জীব বস্তুকে ব্যক্তিরুপে কিংবা অনুপস্থিত ব্যক্তিকে উপস্থিত ব্যক্তিরুপে সম্বোধন করেন।
- In other words, the addressing of a usually absent person or a usually personified thing rhetorically.
