হ্যাকিং (Hacking) : কোনাে কম্পিউটার সিস্টেম, নেটওয়ার্ক, ডেটার উপর অননুমােদিতভাবে অধিকার (Access) লাভ করার উপায়কে হ্যাকিং বলে। যে সব ব্যক্তি/ব্যক্তিবর্গ এ ধরনের কর্মে/অপকর্মের সাথে জড়িত থাকে তাদের হ্যাকার বলে।
স্প্যামিং (Spamming) : যখন কোন প্রতিষ্ঠান বা ব্যক্তি কোন নির্দিষ্ট একটা ইমেইল এড্রেসে শত শত এমনকি লক্ষ লক্ষ মেইল প্রেরণের মাধ্যমে মেমোরি দখল করে তখন একে বলে স্প্যামিং।
অর্থাৎ, ভাইরাস এবং হ্যাকার দুটোই নিরাপত্তা এবং গোপনীয়তার জন্য ঝুকিপূর্ণ। কিন্তু স্প্যামিং ঝুকিপূর্ণ নয়।
