A Hymn is best defined as – A song or poem of praise, often addressed to a deity.

• Hymn:
- A lyric poem or songs in praise of God is called Hymn.
- সাধারণত এটি religious emotion প্রকাশের  উদ্দেশ্যে chorus দ্বারা গাওয়া।

An elegy is primarily a poem that - Expresses grief or lamentation for the dead.

• Elegy:
- এর অর্থ শোকগাথা।
- A lyric poem mourning for death of an individual or lamenting over a tragic event is called elegy.
- It opens with lamentation for the death of speaker's dear one.
- Its meditative in nature.
- Its tone is grave.
- In its closing part the speaker finds consolation and solace.

A soliloquy in drama is a speech in which —A character expresses inner thoughts aloud when alone on stage.

• Soliloquy:
- A dramatic technique of speaking alone on stage.
- A long, usually serious spoken discourse that a character i play delivers to an audience and that reveals the character's thoughts.
- A passage in a drama in which a character expresses his thoughts or feelings aloud while either alone upon the stage or with the other actors keeping silent.
- It is a dramatic technique of exposing to the audience the intentions, thoughts and feelings of a character who speaks to himself.

- When a speaker speaks his thoughts aloud it is called Soliloquy.

• Connotation:
- The indirect meaning of a word.
- অর্থাৎ connotation দ্বারা কোন শব্দের আক্ষরিক না বুঝিয়ে কোনো দ্বৈত অর্থের ব্যবহার বোঝায়।
- It is the suggestion or associated significance implied by a word.

• Connotation হলো একটি শব্দ বা অভিব্যক্তির ঐতিহ্যগত অর্থের বাইরের অতিরিক্ত মানে বা অনুভূতি। এটি একটি শব্দের সামাজিক, সাংস্কৃতিক বা আবেগপ্রবণ ধারনা যা সরাসরি তার সোজা অর্থ থেকে আলাদা হতে পারে। Connotation শব্দের নির্দিষ্ট অর্থের পাশাপাশি, মানুষের মনে বা সমাজে যে অতিরিক্ত অর্থ বা অনুভূতি সৃষ্টি করে, তা বোঝায়।

Home is a place where, when you have to go there,
They have to take you in. 
- Here Home literary means a roofed structure to live in but its connotative meaning, as it suggested here, may be peace, intimacy, family bond etc.

- The selection of words in writing or speech.
- A particular writer chooses a particular type of words and phrases অর্থাৎ প্রতিটি লেখকের নিজস্ব বা বিশেষ শব্দচয়ন রয়েছে।
- যেমন John Milton তাঁর লেখায় bombastic, unusual, allusive এবং latinized শব্দের ব্যবহার করেছেন - কিন্তু George Orwell এর সাহিত্য পর্যালোচনা করলে দেখা যায় যে তাঁর লেখায় simple, lucid এবং common শব্দের ব্যবহার বেশি।

- অর্থাৎ এটি কোনো শব্দের সরাসরি বা আভিধানিক অর্থ নির্দেশ করে।

- "Man" is a wingless biped.

- A literary work that aims to educate to teach its readers.
- শিক্ষামূলক রচনাগুলোকে Didactic work বলা হয়।
- সাহিত্যে ঈশপের রূপকথাগুলোকে Ideal Didactic work বলে বিবেচনা করা হয়।

In classical tragedy, hamartia usually — Leads to the protagonist’s downfall.

• Hamartia:
- এটি হলো protagonist এর চরিত্রের একটি ত্রুটি।
- It is an error or flaw in the character of the protagonist of a tragedy.
- It causes the fall of the protagonist from the top of his success to the bottom of his misery.
- It's also called a tragic flaw.
