পর পর দুটি verb থাকলে শেষের verb টির সাথে ing/ to+verb/participle হয়। উপরের বাক্যটির formation অনুযায়ী verb+ing হয়েছে।

Adverbial clause of reason সাধারণত Principal clause এর কার্য সম্পাদন হওয়া বা না হওয়ার কারণ নির্দেশ করে এবং because, as, since, that ইত্যাদি দ্বারা শুরু হয়। যেমন- He cannot come because he is ill. As he is ill, he cannot come. I am sorry that you said so. Since you are ill, you need not come.

An infinitive is a kind of noun with certain features of a verb, especially that of taking an object. Thus, infinitive is a verb noun.

He was terrified to speak. Here, the infinitive is used to qualify a sentence. It can also be used to qualify a noun. For example: She is a woman to be loved.

The correct statement is: Sleeping is his favourite pastime. A gerund, like a noun, can be the subject of the verb, but like a verb, it also takes an object.

Clause এ than থাকাতে clause টি adverbial clause of comparison প্রকাশ করেছে।

Clause টি ask এর object. তাই এটি noun

Is এর আগে এবং পরে যদি একটি clause বা phrase থাকে সেই clause বা phrase টি noun clause বা noun phrase হয়। এখানে That she is a beautiful girl clause টি is এর আগে বসেছে তাই এটি একটি Noun clause।

অতীতে কোন কাজ করতে বাধ্য হয়েছিল এরূপ বোঝাতে (had + to + main verb) হয়। এই জন্য to wait ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

A gerund may be used as: Subject of a verb, as, “Wiving and hanging go by destiny.” It is also used as object of the transitive verb, object of a preposition and also absolutely.

“with a veil over her body” একটি phrase. তাই সঠিক উত্তর কোনটিই নয়।

Clause টি Noun ‘Life’ এর complement হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে। তাই এটি Noun Clause.

The phrase in the sentence is ‘at sunset ‘. The group of words ‘at sunset ‘ makes some sense but does not make complete sense. Such a group of words is called a phrase.

Phrase টি wait verb-কে modify করায় এটি adverbial phrase. অপশনে adverbial phrase থাকায়, উত্তর কোন ভাবেই prepositional phrase হবে না।

অপশন a ও b দুটোই সঠিক হবে। তাই, উত্তর বাতিল করা হয়েছে।

‘What he said’ subject এর জায়গায় বসে noun এর মতো কাজ করছে।

Clause টি People কে modify করেছে। তাই তা Adjective clause.

যখন কোন phrase বা শব্দসমষ্টি একটি বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে Conjunction এর কাজ করে তখন তাকে Conjunctional phrase বলে।

যে Dependent clause টি Adverb- এর মত কাজ করে অর্থাৎ স্থান, সময়, উদ্দেশ্য, পরিমাণ, ফলাফল, তুলনা, ধরণ, কারণ, বৈপরীত্য প্রকাশ করে তাকে Adverb clause বলে। আবার verb বা Adverb কে modify করে তাকে Adverb clause বলে। We shall go where he lives now. এখানে modifying verb 'go'।

যে subordinate clause একটি বাক্যে একটি adverb হিসেবে কাজ করে এবং একটি verb, বা একটি adjective-clause বা অন্য একটি adverbial clause-কে modify করে তাকে Adverbial Clause বলে। এখানে, Cause and effect বোঝানো হচ্ছে।

Gerund is a verb form which functions as a noun by adding ‘-ing’ to the verb.

Sentence- এ দুই বা ততোধিক clause যুক্ত করার জন্য conjunction বা linker ব্যবহার করা হয় যাকে clause marker বলে। co-ordinate clause marker গুলো হলো- for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so, besides, after all, moreover, otherwise etc.

যেসব phrase বাক্যের মধ্যে Noun এর কাজ করে তাদেরকে Noun phrase বলে। ex: A modern day photocopier can copy very fast.

যে clause তার অর্থ প্রকাশ করার জন্য অন্য কোন clause এর উপর নির্ভরশীল নয় তাকে Principle Clause বলে। Ex: The boy came here when he was four.

The form of the present participle is the infinitive + ing. For example, working, studying, eating. Having finished is an example of the active perfect participle and stolen money is an example of the past participle.

It is time, it is high time ইত্যাদির পর Subject থাকলে Verb - টি Past Tense এর হয়। আর এদের পর subject না থাকলে to + Verb হয়। যেমন It is high time we got ready, It is time to do the work.
