The Declaration of St. James' Palace
- ১২ জুন, ১৯৪১ সালে লন্ডনের সেইন্ট জেমস্‌ প্রাসাদে গ্রেট ব্রিটেন, কানাডা, অস্ট্রেলিয়া, নিউজিল্যান্ড, দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকা এবং তৎকালীন ইউরোপের নয়টি দেশের (বেলজিয়াম, চেকোস্লাভিয়া, গ্রীস, লুক্সেমবার্গ, নেদারল্যান্ডস্‌, নরওয়ে, পোল্যান্ড, যুগোস্লোভিয়া ও ফ্রান্স) নির্বাসিত সরকারপ্রধানরা (মোট ১৪টি দেশ) বিশ্ব শান্তি ও ঐক্য প্রতিষ্ঠার জন্য এক সম্মেলনে অংশগ্রহন করে।
- উক্ত সম্মেলনে এক সম্মিলিত ঘোষনা আসে যা “The Declaration of St. James' Palace” বা “An Inter-Allied Declaration” নামে পরিচিত।
- এটি London Declaration নামেও পরিচিত।
- এটি জাতিসংঘ গঠনের প্রথম পদক্ষেপ।
- ঘোষনাটি ছিলো - ''To work together, with other free peoples, both in war and in peace''।

- জাতিসংঘের নিরাপত্তা পরিষদের সভাপতি নির্বাচিত হয় ১ মাসের জন্য।
- সদস্য দেশগুলো থেকে ইংরেজি বর্নমালার ক্রমানুযায়ী সভাপতি নির্বাচিত হয়ে থাকে।
- April 2022 - United Kingdom.
- May 2022 - United States.
- June 2022 - Albania.

- নিরাপত্তা পরিষদের মোট সদস্য সংখ্যা ১৫টি।
এর মধ্যে ৫টি স্থায়ী সদস্য। এগুলো হলো:
- যুক্তরাষ্ট্র
- যুক্তরাজ্য
- ফ্রান্স
- রাশিয়া ও
- চীন।
- অস্থায়ী সদস্য ১০টি। এগুলো দুইবছরের জন্যে বিভিন্ন অঞ্চল থেকে আনুপাতিক হারে নির্বাচিত হয়ে থাকে।

- UN-Habitat এর বর্তমান নির্বাহী পরিচালক হিসেবে দায়িত্ব পালন করছেন মাইমনা মোহম্মদ শরীফ।
- তিনি মালয়েশিয়ার নাগরিক।
- ২২ জানুয়ারি ২০১৮ সালে তিনি দায়িত্ব গ্রহণ করেন। 
- UN-Habitat জাতিসংঘের একটি তহবিল ও কর্মসূচীর (Funds and Programmes) আওতাভূক্ত।
- সমাজের সব শ্রেনী পেশার মানুষের জন্য নিরাপদ আশ্রয় বিনির্মানের জন্য কাজ করে যাছে এই সংস্থাটি।
- UN-Habitat এর সদর দপ্তর কেনিয়ার রাজধানী নাইরোবীতে। 
- জাতিসংঘ আমাদের শহর ও শহরগুলির অবস্থা এবং সকলের জন্য পর্যাপ্ত আশ্রয়ের অধিকারের বিষয়টিতে আলোকপাত করার জন্য প্রতিবছরের অক্টোবরের প্রথম সোমবারকে বিশ্ব প্রতিবেশ দিবস (World Habitat Day) হিসাবে মনোনীত করেছে।

আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ আদলত (ICC):
১৯৯৮ সালের ১৭ জুলাই স্বাক্ষরিত রোম চুক্তি কার্যকরের মাধ্যমে ২০০২ সালের ১ জুলাই আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ আদালত আনুষ্ঠানিকভাবে গঠিত হয়।
- বর্তমান সদস্য সংখ্যা ১২৩টি।
- আই.সি.সি - এর সদরদপ্তর - নেদারল্যান্ডেস্‌-এর হেগ শহরে।

আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ আদালতের বিচারকদের নিয়োগ প্রদান করে ICC এর Assembly of State Parties (ASP).
আন্তর্জাতিক অপরাধ আদালতের বিচারকের সংখ্যা - ১৮ জন এবং মেয়াদ - ৯ বছর।

- আন্তর্জাতিক ন্যায়বিচার আদালত (ICJ) বিচারকদের নিয়োগ প্রদান করে - সাধারন পরিষদ এবং নিরাপত্তা পরিষদ।
- জাতিসংঘের নিরাপত্তা পরিষদের সুপারিশে সাধারণ পরিষদ বিচারকদের নিয়োগ দেয়।

- বিচারকদের মেয়াদ ৯ বছর।
- ৩ বছর পর পর এর এক-তৃতীয়াংশ বিচারক নির্বাচন করা হয়।
- আদালতের বিচারকদের মধ্য থেকে একজনকে গোপন ব্যালটের মাধ্যমে সভাপতি নির্বাচন করা হয়।
- আন্তর্জাতিক আদালতের প্রেসিডেন্টের মেয়াদ ৩ বছর।

- Collective noun:  a noun such as "team" or "flock" that refers to a group of people or things.
- একই জাতীয় একাধিক ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর সমন্বয়ে কোন অবিভক্ত অংশ গঠন করলে বা বুঝালে তাকে Collective noun বলে। 
 এখানে,
-  Jury মানে বিচারকদল বা বিচারকমন্ডলী। কয়েকজন বিচারকের সমন্বয়ে একটি সুনির্দিষ্ট বোর্ড বা বেঞ্চ গঠন করা হয় এবং তাদের সুনির্দিষ্ট কাজ নির্ধারণ করা থাকে। অর্থাৎ তারা একটি একক ইউনিট হিসেবে কাজ করে। তাই এটি একটি Collective noun।
অনুরুপ ভাবে, 
- Armyমানে সৈন্যদল। 
- Team মানে দল। এগারো জনের বা ছয় জনের কিংবা যেকোন সংখ্যার টিম গঠন হতে পারে। 

তবে, 
- Policy মানে নীতি। এটি একটি  Abstract Noun. 
- সুতরাং এটিই আলোচ্য প্রশ্নের সঠিক উত্তর। 

- Mutton শব্দটি দ্বারা সাধারণত খাসীর মাংস বোঝানো হয়ে থাকে। 
- এটি একটি material noun। 
- কারণ একে গণনা করা যাবেনা কিন্তু পরিমাপ করা যায়।
- material noun চেনার উপায় হলো, এরা সাধারণত  Uncountable Noun  হয়ে থাকে।

- এই বাক্যে tomorrow শব্দটি একটি নির্দিষ্ট সময় প্রকাশ করছে, যা বাক্যের ক্রিয়ার সাথে সম্পর্কযুক্ত। 
- সুতরাং এখানে tomorrow শব্দটি Adverb of Time হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

- An adverb can modify or qualify a verb, an adjective, or even a sentence. 
- But an adverb does not modify a Noun or a Pronoun.

- The general rule of comparing between two nouns is using the word , "than." For example: Karim is better than Rahim. 
- But sometimes it is possible to make comparative sentence without using , 'than'. For instance, in the above mentioned sentence, the correct answer will be- Out of the two boys, Sabit is more intelligent.

Proper Nouns:
- Names of people, places and organisations are called proper nouns.
- We spell proper nouns with a capital letter. 

Reflexive Pronouns: 
- Reflexive pronouns are words like myself, yourself, himself, herself, itself, ourselves, yourselves and themselves. They refer back to a person or thing.
- We often use reflexive pronouns when the subject and the object of a verb are the same. 
For example: I cut myself when I was making dinner last night.

- Adjective + Prepositions.
- Goot + at = To mean ability or capability. 

- When we want to express that we are well capable of doing something, the usual collocation is “to be good at something”,
e.g. correct He is good at playing the piano.

Verb+Preposition
- When a verb is part of a longer sentence, it is often followed by a specific preposition. 
  Ex:     I agree with Mike.
           She listens to the radio a lot.

- তবে কোন Verb এর পরে কোন Prepositon বসবে এটার কোন সুনির্দিষ্ট নিয়ম নেই।
- এই নিয়মগুলো অনেকটা অলিখিত এবং শ্রুত নিয়ম বলা চলে। প্রচুর অনুশীলন করলে এক সময় রপ্ত করা যাবে। নিচে কিছু common verb+preposition এর  উদাহরণ দেয়া হল। 

Verbs with in
-She doesn't believe in coincidences.
- You have to work hard if you want to succeed in life.

Verbs with on
- Their decision will depend on the test results.
- The film is based on the novel by Boris Pasternak.

Verbs with to
- What kind of music do you like listening to?
- Can I introduce you to my grandfather?

Verbs with for
- They're waiting for a bus.
- He apologised for being late.

Conjunction:
- It is a word used to connect clauses or sentences or to coordinate words in the same clause (e.g. and, but, if ).
- In this sentence, the appropriate positions for the blank will be ' but'.

Use of But:
- The conjunction but means “on the contrary,” and is used to indicate contrast or opposition between elements in a sentence.
-  দুইটা ভিন্নধর্মী বাক্যকে সংযুক্ত করে একটি পূর্নাঙ্গ অর্থমূলক বাক্য তৈরী করা, যেমনটি উপরের বাক্যতে করা হয়েছে। 

- In this word, the word 'long' is actually modifying the verb , live. So its used as an adverb.

- Here, the right answer will be- terrifying.
- The word, terrifying is being used here as an adjective by adding ing with the verb terrify. 

Adjectives with '-ing' and '-ed'
- A lot of adjectives are made from verbs by adding -ing or -ed:

For example: 
- If you say something is interesting, you mean it interests you. So you would say:
I read a very interesting article in the newspaper today.

On the other hand, 
- If something bores you, you can say you feel bored. So you would say:
We had nothing to do. We were really bored.
