- সাধারণত Tag question ব্যবহৃত হয় পূর্বে উল্লেখিত কোন উক্তি সত্য না মিথ্যা তা নিশ্চিত হওয়ার জন্য। 
- Statement positive হলে tag question টা negative হবে। আবার statement negative হলে tag question positive হবে। 
- Tag question এর নিয়মানুযায়ী বাক্যটি Negative হওয়ায় Tag question Affirmative হবে।
- বাক্যটি Past indefinite tense হওয়ায় Tag question এর ক্ষেত্রে did he হবে।

সঠিক উত্তরঃ ক) As their throats were dry, they could not speak.
Compound sentence এ "কারণ + And + ফলাফল" - এই structure থাকলে Complex করার সময় "As/ Since/ Because + কারণ + ফলাফল" - structure follow করতে হয়।

তবে এ রকম ‍Structure দিয়ে সময়ও বুঝাতে পারে, অর্থাৎ After their throats’ being dry = তাদের গলা শুকিয়ে যাওয়ার পরে, তারা কথা বলতে পারছিল না।
এ ‍হিসেবে (ঘ) কে শুদ্ধ মনে হতে পারে। কিন্তু এখানে Throat noun এর পরে was -verb নেই। তাই এটা ভুল।

Tag question এর basic rules:
Rule 1: Let’s বা Let us থাকলে Tag –এ shall we বসাতে হয়। যেমনঃ Let’s play football, shall we?
Rule 2 : Imperative Sentence হলে Tag- এ will you বসে। যেমনঃ Open the door, will you?
Rule 3 : নিম্নের Be Verb, Have Verb ও Modal Verb গুলো থাকলে সেগুলোর Negative form বসাতে হয়, আবার Negative form থাকলে Affirmative form বসাতে হয়। She has been there before, hasn't she?
Rule 4 : Present indefinite Tense হলে Tag Question-এ don’t / doesn’t বসে। যদি Verb এর শেষে s/es থাকে তাহলে doesn’t বসে। যেমনঃ They play football, don’t they? Borna reads the book carefully, doesn’t she?
Rule 5 : Past indefinite Tense হলে Tag Question-এ didn’t বসে। যেমনঃ Sojib worked hard, didn’t he?
Rule 6: Nobody, None ইত্যাদি Subject হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত Tag-এ they এবং nothing Subject হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হলে it বসে এবং Tag Question –এ সেই বাক্যের Negative করতে হয় না। যেমনঃ Nobody called me, did they?
Rule 7 : বাক্যের মধ্যে Hardly, Scarely, Seldom, little থাকলে সেই বাক্যের Tag Question –এ Negative করতে হয় না। যেমনঃ He hardly comes here, does he?
Rule 8 : যত প্রকার body এবং one আছে তাদের জন্য Tag Question – এ they বসে। যেমনঃ Someone helps me, don’t they?
Special Note: Tag Question –এ Pronoun Form বসাতে হয়। যেমন- একজন মেয়ে কে বোঝালে she এবং ছেলেকে বোঝালে he বসে। একের অধিক ছেলে/মেয়ে কে বোঝালে they বসে। এছাড়া মানুষ বাদে অন্য একটি কোন প্রাণী বা বস্তুকে বোঝালে it বসে। আবার একের অধিক প্রাণি বা বস্তুকে বোঝালে they বসে।

Complex Sentence এ 'WH' Word যুক্ত Clause থাকলে Simple Sentence এ অর্থ সঙ্গতিপূর্ণ Phrase বসাতে হয়।
এখানে when he is in danger এর পরিবর্তে in time of danger বসেছে।

- বাক্যটি Negative হলে Tag question টি Affirmative হবে।
- আবার, বাক্যটি Affirmative হলে Tag question টি Negative হবে।
- Be Verb, Have Verb ও Modal Verb গুলো থাকলে সেগুলোর Negative form বসাতে হয়, আবার Negative form থাকলে Affirmative form বসাতে হয়।
- Tag Question – এ Pronoun Form বসাতে হয়। একের অধিক প্রাণি বা বস্তুকে বোঝালে they বসে।
- অতএব, সঠিক Tag question হলো:` People can't live without company, can they?

Indirect Narration এ request থাকলে please যোগ হতে পারে এবং বাক্যটা Imperative হবে। 
তাই সঠিক উত্তর: He said to me, “Please, clarify the matter”.

Positive কে Comparative করতে হলে চারটি কাজ করতে হয়:
    1. Subject- Object হয়, Object - Subject হয়।
    2. Affirmative -Negative হয়, Negative Affirmative হয়।
    3. Degree change হয়।
    4. Indicator Change হয় (as... as/ so....as --> than)
    এ হিসাবে সঠিক উত্তর : Tom is not more intelligent than John.

অথবা ২য় পদ্ধতি হচ্ছে-  1 no কাজ (Subject- Object এর অবস্থান পরিবর্তন) না করে 
    less + Positive Degree দিয়ে Comparative Degree গঠন করা এবং বাকি কাজগুলো করা।
    যেমন- John is not less industrious than Tom.

Tag question করার সময় affirmative statement থাকলে তাকে negative করতে হয় এবং negative statement থাকলে তাকে affirmative করতে হয়।
আর এখানে model auxiliary হিসেবে ought আছে।
তাই সঠিক tag হবে oughtn't I হবে।
