Noun phrases:
- a group of words in a sentence that together behave as a noun:

অধিকাংশ সময়ই, Noun phrase মূলত: একটি Noun বা Pronoun এর কাজ করে।
এছাড়া, অর্থ এবং বাক্যেে অবস্থান অনুযায়ী Noun phrase বিভিন্ন ভূমিকা পালন করে থাকে ।

যেমন:
- Subject হিসেবে।
- Object of a verb হিসেবে।
- Object of a preposition হিসেবে।
- Subject complement হিসেবে।
- Object complement হিসেবে।

• "He dislikes studying late at night" বাক্যে 'studying late at night' phrase টি একটি — noun phrase.
- Phraseটি এখানে Verb এর Object হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

• Verbal Phrase:
- যে phrase - verb -এর মত কাজ করে তাকে Verbal Phrase বলে।
- A verbal phrase consists of a main verb alone, or a main verb plus any modal and/or auxiliary verbs.
- এ জাতীয় phrase গুলোকে আবার Group Verb ও বলা হয়।
- Example: The girl looks after her cat.
- Bangla meaning: মেয়েটি তার বিড়ালের যত্ন নেয়।

• look after someone/something:
- (phrasal verb)
English means: to take care of or be in charge of someone or something.
বাংলা অর্থ: যত্ন নেওয়া; খেয়াল রাখা; দেখাশোনা করা।

• প্রদত্ত অপশনের, She looks after her younger brother. এই sentence টিতে 'looks after' হচ্ছে Verbal Phrase.
- কারণ, এটি verb -এর কাজ করছে এবং verb দ্বারা শেষ হয়েছে।

অন্য অপশন, 
ক) An honest man is ultimately rewarded.- বাক্যে 'An honest man' হলো- Noun phrase.
গ) The boy standing near the door is my cousin. বাক্যে 'standing near the door' হচ্ছে - Adjective Phrase.
ঘ) The tree covered in snow looks magical. বাক্যে 'covered in snow' হচ্ছে - Adjective Phrase.

• Noun phrase:

এছাড়া, অর্থ এবং বাক্যে অবস্থান অনুযায়ী Noun phrase বিভিন্ন ভূমিকা পালন করে । যেমন:

Noun phrase  Subject এর Complement হিসেবে বসতে পারে।
যেমন - 
My brother is a professional chef.
This dress is a perfect fit.
The team is a well-organized group.

• Conjunctional phrase:
দুইটি Sentence এর মধ্যে সংযোগ স্থাপনের জন্য Conjunction ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- যখন কোন phrase বা শব্দসমষ্টি একটি বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে Conjunction এর কাজ করে তখন তাকে Conjunctional phrase বলে।

- Parts of Speech এর যে Word গুলো দুই বা ততোধিক word, phrase, clause বা sentence কে যুক্ত করে তাকে Conjunction বলে।

• কয়েকটি Conjunctional phrase এর উদাহরণ:
-  as much as, as long as, as soon as, as well as, along with, together with, either-or, neither-nor, not only- but also ইত্যাদি Conjunctional phrase.

• The central part of a noun phrase is mainly a/an - noun.

• Noun Phrase:
A noun phrase consists of a noun or pronoun, which is called the head, and any dependent words before or after the head. Dependent words give specific information about the head.

• Noun Phrase- এর কেন্দ্রীয় অংশ হলো — Noun বা Pronoun। বাক্যের কাজ এবং অর্থ অনুযায়ী এর চারপাশে Adjectives, Adverbs, Prepositional Phrases ইত্যাদি যুক্ত হয়ে থাকে।

যেমন:
• The old man: এখানে "man" হলো Noun, যা Noun Phrase- এর প্রধান অংশ, এবং "old" হলো Modifier যা Noun-এর পাশে যোগ হয়েছে।
• A bunch of ripe bananas: এখানে "bananas" হলো Noun, "ripe" হলো Adjective (Modifier), আর "of" হলো Prepositional Phrase।

উল্লেখ্য, 
 Noun Phrase কোন Sentence এ verb এর subject, object, বা Complement রূপে অথবা Preposition এর Object রূপে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• "An elegant dress" একটি noun phrase। কারণ এখানে "dress" হলো মূল শব্দ বা noun।
এখানে, 
"An" (article) এবং "elegant" (adjective) মূল noun "dress"-কে Modify করছে। তাই পুরো বাক্যাংশটি একটি noun phrase।

তেমনিভাবে, 
"A beautiful flower" = noun phrase।
"The red car" = noun phrase।

• Adjective phrase: 
- যে phrase গুলো sentence - এ adjective এর মত কাজ করে, অর্থ্যাৎ Noun এর অবস্থা, দোষ-গুণ ইত্যাদি প্রকাশ করে, সেই phrase গুলোকে Adjective Phrase বলে।
-  Noun এর পর যদি কোন clause/Phrase বসে তাহলে সেটি Adjective clause/Phrase হবে।
এখানে 'of great wealth' noun কে মডিফাই করছে, তাই এটি Adjective phrase.

বাক্যটি:
"The boy running in the park is my cousin." 
এখানে, "running in the park" অংশটি বাক্যের Noun "The boy" কে Modify করেছে। তাই অংশটুকু Adjective phrase.

Adjective phrase বাক্যে নিম্নোক্তভাবে বসতে পারে,
Present participle (v+ing) + preposition + object/noun
Example:
The man walking in the field is my grandfather.
The girl dancing on the stage lives in England.

• Adverbial Phrase:
- যে phrase বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে adverb এর মতো কাজ করে তাকে Adverbial Phrase বলে ৷
- সাধারনত বাক্যকে "কখন ( when), কোথায় ( where), কেন( why) ও কিভাবে (how)" দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে উত্তর হিসেবে যে phrase পাওয়া যায় সেটিই Adverbial phrase.

বাক্যটি:
They arrived at the airport early in the morning. (তারা সকালের দিকে, খুব তাড়াতাড়ি সকালে বিমানবন্দরে পৌঁছেছে।)
→ "Early in the morning" is an adverbial phrase that tells us when they arrived.
এখানে, 
"early in the morning" একটি (adverbial phrase) যা বাক্যের "arrived" verb এর সময় নির্দেশ করছে।

• "You can come __________ you finish your homework."
- The correct Conjunctional Phrase for this sentence is: 'as soon as'.

The correct sentence would be:
"You can come as soon as you finish your homework."

• Conjunctional phrase:
দুইটি Sentence এর মধ্যে সংযোগ স্থাপনের জন্য Conjunction ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- যখন কোন phrase বা শব্দসমষ্টি একটি বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে Conjunction এর কাজ করে তখন তাকে Conjunctional phrase বলে।

- Parts of Speech এর যে Word গুলো দুই বা ততোধিক word, phrase, clause বা sentence কে যুক্ত করে তাকে Conjunction বলে।
-  as much as, as long as, as soon as, as well as, along with, together with, either-or, neither-nor, not only- but also ইত্যাদি Conjunctional phrase.

• প্রদত্ত বাক্যে 'as soon as' Conjunction এর কাজ করেছে বিধায় এটি Conjunctional phrase হয়েছে।

• The phrase 'out and out' in the sentence "This book is out and out a masterpiece." is an: ক) Adverbial phrase.

• এখানে, 'out and out' means — completely, thoroughly, or entirely.

• "Out and out" একটি Adverbial phrase কারণ এটি বাক্যে কিভাবে (how) বা কী ধরনের (what kind of) বোঝাতে সাহায্য করে।

অর্থাৎ, "out and out" এই phrase টি adverbial phrase হিসেবে কাজ করছে।

• Prepositional Phrase:
- যে Phrase Preposition দিয়ে শুরু হয় এবং Preposition এর কাজ করে, তাকে Prepositional Phrase বলে।
 
উলেখ্য, 
• "The school is in front of my house." এই বাক্যের মধ্যে 'in front of' হলো একটি Prepositional phrase।
কারণ, 'the school' এবং my house এর মধ্যে সম্পর্ক নির্দেশ করছে।

তাই,
'in front of' হলো একটি Prepositional phrase।

• Interjectional phrase:
যেসব phrase সাধারণত interjection -এর কাজ করে তাদেরকে interjectional phrase বলে।
অর্থাৎ,
interjectional -এর মতো এগুলো মনের আকস্মিক ভাব প্রকাশ করে।
উল্লেখ্য, 
interjectional phrase চেনার উপায় হচ্ছে এই phrase -এর শেষে Note of exlamation (!) থাকে।

যেমন:
- Oh no! I left my wallet at home.
- Hurray! We won the match.
- Oh my goodness! This cake tastes delicious.

• Verbal Phrase:
Verbal phrase হলো এমন একটি phrase, যা বাক্যে ক্রিয়ার কাজ করে।
A verb phrase consists of a main verb alone, or a main verb plus any modal and/or auxiliary verbs.

• In the sentence "She looked for a job near her hometown," the phrase "looked for" functions as a verb phrase.

• "She looked for a job near her hometown." বাক্যে "looked for" একটি verbal phrase, কারণ এটি একত্রে একটি verb হিসেবে কাজ করছে।

• Infinitive Phrase:
- মূলত 'to + Verb (base form) + Extension দিয়ে গঠিত Phrase
- সাধারণত Noun/Adverb Phrase এর কাজ করে।
- বাক্যের subject হিসেবে এরা noun phrase এবং কারণ নির্দেশ করলে adverb phrase হিসেবে বিবেচত হয়।

• প্রশ্নের বাক্যটি - "To tell the truth is always better."
এখানে, 
"To tell the truth" অংশটি "to" + মূল verb (tell) দিয়ে শুরু হয়েছে, যা একটি Infinitive Phrase নির্দেশ করে।

আবার, 
এই বাক্যে, "To tell the truth" বাক্যটির subject হিসেবে কাজ করছে এবং এটি noun phrase-এর ভূমিকা পালন করছে।

• Adjective phrase: 
- যে phrase গুলো sentence - এ adjective এর মত কাজ করে, অর্থ্যাৎ Noun এর অবস্থা, দোষ-গুণ ইত্যাদি প্রকাশ করে, সেই phrase গুলোকে Adjective Phrase বলে।

• প্রদত্ত বাক্যটি - "The man with the black hat is a stranger."
এই বাক্যে,
"The man with the black hat is a stranger" অংশটিতে "with the black hat" একটি adjective phrase, যা "The man" কে Modify করছে।

• Adjective phrase: 
- যে phrase গুলো sentence - এ adjective এর মত কাজ করে, অর্থ্যাৎ Noun এর অবস্থা, দোষ-গুণ ইত্যাদি প্রকাশ করে, সেই phrase গুলোকে Adjective Phrase বলে।
-  Noun এর পর যদি কোন clause/Phrase বসে তাহলে সেটি Adjective clause/Phrase হবে।
এখানে 'of great wealth' noun কে মডিফাই করছে, তাই এটি Adjective phrase.

বাক্যটি:
"The boy running in the park is my cousin." 
এখানে, "parked in the garage" অংশটি বাক্যের Noun "The car" কে Modify করেছে। তাই অংশটুকু Adjective phrase.

অন্য অপশনে, 
খ) The book is on the table.
→ "on the table" অংশটি একটি adverb phrase এবং এটি "book" এর অবস্থান বোঝাচ্ছে।

গ) He answered the question with great enthusiasm.
→ "With great enthusiasm" অংশটি একটি adverbial phrase এবং এটি বোঝাচ্ছে কীভাবে প্রশ্নের উত্তর দেওয়া হয়েছে।

ঘ) She is in the room.
→ "in the room" অংশটি একটি adverbial phrase.

• Infinitive Phrase:
- মূলত 'to + Verb (base form) + Extension দিয়ে গঠিত Phrase
- সাধারণত Noun/Adverb Phrase এর কাজ করে।
- বাক্যের subject হিসেবে এরা noun phrase এবং কারণ নির্দেশ করলে adverb phrase হিসেবে বিবেচত হয়।

• "He went to the park to relax." - 
• বাক্যের "to relax" অংশটি "to + verb" দিয়ে শুরু কিন্তু এরপরে Extension নেই বিধায় Infinitive Phrase হবে না। 
আবার, এখানে এটি কেন বা কী উদ্দেশ্যে সে পার্কে গেছে, তা নির্দেশ করছে। তাই, Adverbial Phrase হিসেবে কাজ করছে।

সুতরাং, "to relax" বাক্যে Adverb phrase হিসেবে কাজ করছে।

• They love each other heart and soul. The underlined phrase is - খ) Adverbial Phrase.

• Adverbial Phrase:
- যে phrase বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে adverb এর মতো কাজ করে তাকে Adverbial Phrase বলে ৷
- সাধারনত বাক্যকে "কখন ( when), কোথায় ( where), কেন( why) ও কিভাবে (how)" দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে উত্তর হিসেবে যে phrase পাওয়া যায় সেটিই Adverbial phrase.

এখানে, 
"heart and soul" শব্দটি বাক্যের (verb) "love" কে Modify করছে। 'Love' কে 'কীভাবে (How) দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে উত্তর পাওয়া যায়।

• I have no kith and kin in this town.
এখানে,
"kith and kin" হলো একটি noun phrase.

• Noun phrase:
- Noun এর মতো কাজ করে এবং Noun এর জায়গায় বসে অথবা কোনো একক জায়গায় বসে একক Noun কে নির্দেশ করে।
এছাড়া, অর্থ এবং বাক্যে অবস্থান অনুযায়ী Noun phrase বিভিন্ন ভূমিকা পালন করে।

অন্যদিকে,
• "The teacher is in the class." - Adverbial phrase.
• "He saved money to buy a new car." - Adverbial phrase.
• "He is a man of fame." - Adjective phrase.
