• একটি Conditional sentence- এ দুইটি অংশ থাকে।
1. Condition বা শর্ত,
2. Consequence বা ফলাফল।

• Conditional sentence সাধারণত চার ধরনের হয়। যথা:
1. Zero Conditional.
2. First Conditional.
3. Second Conditional.
4. Third Conditional.

• 1st Conditional = If + present simple tense, will + base form of the verb.
→ If you drop that glass, it will break. It is an example of- 1st Conditional.

Example Sentence:
1. If it rains tomorrow, we will stay indoors.
2. If she studies hard, she will pass the exam.

- These are the examples of the First Conditional.

Structure: If + past perfect tense + would/could/might + have + past participle.

• Third conditional এর নিয়মানুযায়ী -
- Conditional-এ subordinate conjunction 'if' এর পর Past Perfect Tense হলে,
তার পরবর্তী Clause- এ would/could/might + have + Verb-এর Past Participle form হবে।

Complete sentence: If it hadn't rained, we would have gone for a picnic.

Example Sentence:
1. If I had studied harder, I would have passed the exam.
2. If they had left earlier, they wouldn't have missed the train.

- These are the examples of the Third Conditional.

• প্রশ্নে উল্লিখিত Sentence টি একটি 2nd Conditional sentence এর উদাহরণ।

Structure: If + simple past tense, would/could/might + base form of the verb.

• Second conditional এর নিয়মানুযায়ী -
- Conditional-এ subordinate conjunction 'If' এর পর Simple Past Tense হলে,
তার পরবর্তী Clause- এ would/could/might + base form of the verb. হবে।

Complete sentence: If I won the lottery, I would buy a house by the beach.

Example Sentence:
1. If I had a million dollars, I would travel around the world.
2. If she studied harder, she would pass the exam.
3. If it rained tomorrow, we would stay indoors and watch movies.

- These are examples of the second conditional.

• প্রশ্নে উল্লিখিত Sentence টি একটি First Conditional sentence এর উদাহরণ।

Structure: If + present simple tense, will + base form of the verb.
WH Question এর ক্ষেত্রে,
- Consequence বা ফলাফলে, Wh + will + base form of the verb,
- Condition বা শর্তে, if + present simple tense.

Complete sentence: What will happen if you don't set the alarm clock?

এখানে, Do you know হচ্ছে Principal Clause (Interrogative Sentence).
- আর Where Nazrul lives হচ্ছে 'know' এর Object বিধায় এটি Sub-ordinate Clause (Noun Clause).
- Sub-ordinate Clause সর্বদা Assertive Form এ বসে।
- অর্থাৎ Auxiliary Verb 'Subject' এর আগে বসবে না।
