English Meaning - To be very good at doing something. 
Bengali Meaning - দক্ষ। 

• Excel (in/at something)- She has always excelled in foreign languages.
- As a child he excelled at music and art.

• Excel (at doing something) - The team excels at turning defense into attack.

Adverb:
- যেসব word noun বা pronoun ব্যতীত অন্য যেকোনো parts of speech, বিশেষ করে verb কে modify করে সেগুলোকে Adverb বলে।

Inadvertently [ইনাডভাটান্‌ট্‌লি] (adverb):
• English Meaning: In a way that is not intentional.
• Bangla Meaning: অসাবধানতাবশত।

• Synonyms: Accidentally (দুর্ঘটনাক্রমে), Unwittingly (অজ্ঞাতসারে), Mistakenly (ভুলবশত), Unknowingly (অজান্তে), Erroneousl (ভুলক্রমে)। 
• Antonyms: Deliberately (উদ্দেশ্যপ্রণোদিতভাবেদ), Knowingly (জ্ঞাতসারে), Wittingly (সুচিন্তিতভাবে), Carefully (অত্যন্ত সতর্কতার সঙ্গে), Cautiously (সাবধানে)।

This is the house that Jack built.- এই sentence এ 'that' হচ্ছে Relative Pronoun. 

Relative Pronoun: 
- যে pronoun পূর্বে উল্লিখিত কোন noun বা pronoun কে নির্দেশ পূর্বক দুটি বাক্যকে যুক্ত করে তাকে Relative pronoun বলে। 
- Who, which, that, what, but, as- এগুলো সাধারণত Relative pronoun রূপে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 

• 'This is the house that Jack built.' এই sentence টিতে that pronoun নির্দেশ করছে noun house- কে এবং একই সাথে বাক্যের দুটি অংশকে যুক্ত করছে।

Conjunction: 
- Conjunction হলো একটি Parts of Speech যা দুই বা ততোধিক word, phrase, clause, বা sentence কে যুক্ত করে। 
- Conjunction সাধারণত নিম্নলিখিত অর্থ প্রদান করে:

2) Cause or Reason.

Disjointed [ডিস্‌জয়ন্‌টিড্‌] (adjective): 
• English Meaning: (Especially of words or ideas) not well connected or well ordered, and therefore often confusing.
• Bangla Meaning: (বক্তৃতা বা লেখাবিষয়ক) অসংলগ্ন; অসম্বন্ধ; ছাড়া-ছাড়া।

• Synonyms: Unconnected (সম্পর্কহীন), Fragmentary (খণ্ডিত; অসম্পূর্ণ), Disorganized (বিশৃঙ্খল), Dissociated (বিচ্ছিন্ন), Scattered (বিক্ষিপ্ত)।
• Antonyms: Coherent (একত্র আসঞ্জনশীল; সুসংলগ্ন; সুসঙ্গত), Connected (সংযুক্ত), Logical (যৌক্তিক), Linked (সংযুক্ত)। 

• Other Forms: Disjoint [ডিস্‌জয়ন্‌ট্] (verb transitive) গ্রন্থি থেকে বিচ্ছিন্ন করা; টুকরা করা।
• Example Sentence:

অর্থ - যদিও সে দুর্বল তবুও সে দ্রুত হাঁটতে পারে। 

He is weak. (সে দুর্বল।) 
He can walk fast. (সে দ্রুত হাঁটতে পারে।) 
- বাক্য দুটির ভাব সম্পূর্ণ বিরোধী। 
- দুটি পরস্পর বিরোধী ভাবের মধ্যে তুলনা স্থাপন করতে 'though' ব্যবহৃত হয়। 
- এক্ষেত্রে 'as'-ও ব্যবহার করা যায়, তবে তখন বাক্যের structure হয়: Adjective + as + Noun phrase + Verb + ...... 

• তাই এখানে 'Though' appropriately বসবে।

• Scarcely শব্দের অর্থ almost not, প্রায়ই নয়ই, বলতে গেলে মোটেই না। 
• Scarcely সবসময় negative বা না বোধক অর্থ দেয়।

• Hardly এর ব্যবহার: 
- Hardly + past perfect tense- এরূপে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 
- Structure: Hardly had + subject + verb (past participle) + Object + when + Subject + verb (past) + Object. 
- এভাবে একই অর্থে scarcely had ....... when/before এরূপে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• অনুযায়ী অর্থে 'to' preposition ব্যবহৃত হয়। 
যেমন: This food is not to my taste. (এ খাদ্য আমার রুচির অনুগামী নয়।) 

এছাড়াও আরো কিছু ক্ষেত্রে 'to' ব্যবহৃত হয়- 
(1) দিক, দূর থেকে কোন নির্দিষ্ট দিকে:
- I am going to Dhaka. 
(2) পর্যন্ত: 
- We want to fight to the end of the battle. 
(3) প্রতি, উদ্দেশ্যে: 
- Send a letter to Sakib. 
(4) পরিণাম: 
- Burn the letter to ashes. 
(5) অনুপাত: 
- Ten to one will he succeed.

• He had his tooth extracted. 
অর্থ: সে তার দাঁত উঠিয়ে ফেললো। 

• কারো দ্বারা কোন কাজ করিয়ে নেয়া অর্থে have + object + verb (past participle) এই structure টি ব্যবহৃত হয়। 
• এক্ষেত্রে কাজটি যে করে তার কোন উল্লেখ থাকে না। 
• Structure এর এই অংশটি passive বলে এখানে কাজটি মুখ্য, ব্যক্তি গৌণ।

• দুইয়ের মধ্যে ভাগ করে দেয়া অর্থে between এবং দুইয়ের অধিক হলে among ব্যবহৃত হয়। 
-  যেহেতু প্রশ্নে অনেকের মধ্যে কলম ভাগ করে দেয়া বুঝিয়েছে তাই শূন্যস্থানে সঠিক উত্তর হবে - among.

• with, together with বা as well as দ্বারা কোন word যুক্ত হলে verb- টি প্রথম subject অনুযায়ী হয়। 
• এখানে The Prime Minister এবং all the members of his cabinet, 'with' দ্বারা যুক্ত হয়েছে। 
• তাই verb- টি প্রথম subject অনুযায়ি হবে অর্থাৎ singular হবে। 

Complete sentence টি হচ্ছে- The Prime Minister with all the members of his cabinet has arrived.

- 'to be' এবং 'having 'এর পর মূল verb এর Past participle হয়। 
- take (নেওয়া) এর past participle হচ্ছে taken. 
- Active voice এ 'having' ব্যবহৃত হয় যখন কর্তা নিজে কাজ করে। আর passive voice এ ব্যবহৃত হয় যখন ক্রিয়া দ্বারা কর্তার অবস্থা নির্দেশিত হয়। 

Example: 
- The thief ran away having taken the money. 
- The principal desired the notice to be hung.

- এখানে The English দ্বারা ইংরেজ জাতিকে বুঝায় আর শুধু English দ্বারা ইংরেজি ভাষাকে বুঝায়। 
- The English হলো Collective noun. 
- তাই The English এর পরের verb- টি plural হবে। অর্থাৎ 'speak' হবে। 

- এখানে 'to write' হচ্ছে Infinitive. 
Infinitive: 
- Verb এর present form এর আগে to বসিয়ে Infinitive গঠন করা হয়। 
- কিছু কিছু ক্ষেত্রে 'to' উহ্য থাকে। যেমন: Active voice এ, please, see, let, make, feel ইত্যাদি verb গুলোর পর। 

• He helped me to write the letter - এই sentence টিতে Transitive verb এর compliment রূপে infinitive ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে।

• Little, a little এবং the little ব্যবহৃত হয় Uncountable Noun এর পূর্বে অর্থাৎ সে সকল Noun গণনা করা যায় না তার পূর্বে।

• Little- নেই বললেই চলে → Negative.
- There is little water in the glass. (পানি নেই বললেই চলে)।

• A little- আছে কিন্তু খুবই অল্প → Positive.
- There is a little sugar in the kitchen. (চিনি আছে কিন্তু অল্প)।

• The little- অনেক নয়; কিন্তু যা আছে সবটুকু। 
- The little knowledge he has is adequate to pass the test.

• প্রশ্নে উল্লেখিত বাক্যটি Uncountable Noun (knowledge) যুক্ত একটি বাক্য। এছাড়াও carpentry এর knowledge যতটুকু আছে, ততটুকুই যথেষ্ঠ বুঝাচ্ছে, তাই এখানে 'The little' appropriately বসবে। 

 • Few/A Few/ The Few (এরা সবসময় Plural Countable Noun এর সাথে বসে)।

• Hang back (phrasal verb) - পিছু ফেরা। 

Complete sentence টি হবে- When I called him for help, he hung back. 
অর্থ: তাকে আমি যখন সাহায্যের যখন ডেকেছিলাম, সে পিছু হঁটেছিল। 
- এই বাক্যে 'hung back' appropriately বসবে। 

এছাড়াও, 
Hang about - ঘুরঘুর করা। 
Hang on to - অধিকারে রাখা।
