→ Close শব্দটি বিভিন্ন Parts of Speech হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

• Close (noun): 
Meaning - The end of something, or the time when you end it. 
Example - The season is now nearing its close.

• Close (adjective): 
Meaning - Having direct family connections or shared beliefs, support, and sympathy.
Example - There weren't many people at the funeral - just close family/relatives.

• Close (verb): 
Meaning - To change from being open to not being open, or to cause something to do this; বন্ধ করা; বন্ধ হওয়া।
Example - I went out and forgot to close the window.

• Close (adverb): 
Meaning - Near in position, time, or condition: ঘনিষ্ঠভাবে; আবদ্ধভাবে; দৃঢ়ভাবে; কাছাকাছি।
Example - The bank is close to the office.

⇒ There weren't many people at the funeral - just close family/relatives.- এই sentence টিতে 'close' শব্দটি family/relatives (noun)- কে modify করছে। 
- Close দ্বারা বুঝাচ্ছে 'only immediate or closely related' family members attended the funeral. 
- তাই এখানে 'close' হচ্ছে Adjective.

Hyphenated Adjective:
- দুই বা ততোধিক Adjective Hyphen (-) দ্বারা যুক্ত হলে, এদেরকে Hyphenated Adjective বলা হয়।
- এরা কখনো Plural হয় না। 

For example:
Incorrect: Naim has a  ten-months-old Baby. 
Correct: Naim has a ten-month-old Baby.

তাই, সঠিক sentence টি হবে - The seven-year-old girl was excited about her birthday. 

Resigned (adjective): 
English Meaning - Willing to accept something unpleasant.
Bangla Meaning - কোনো কিছু মেনে নিয়েছে এমন; আত্মসমর্পিত।

Correct Sentence - After many failed attempts, he adopted a resigned approach to finding a solution.
এখানে, 'resigned' শব্দটি adjective হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে। 

এছাড়াও, 
(১) Resign (from) - পদত্যাগ করা; (দাবি) ত্যাগকারী।
(২) Resign somebody/oneself to somebody/something - সমর্পণ করা।
(৩) Oneself to something/be resigned to something - হাসিমুখে/বিনা প্রতিবাদে সব সয়ে যাওয়া।

• Linking verb/ Copulative verb: 
- যে সকল verb সাধারণত subject ও Subjective complement এর মধ্যে যোগসূত্র স্থাপন করে তাদেরকে Linking verb/ Copulative verb বলে।
- Linking verb-এর complement হিসেবে সাধারণত adjective বসে। 
- Turn, be, become, look feel, seem, remain, appear, sound, get, grow, etc. সাধারণত Linking verb হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 

• Sentence এ Linking Verb এর অবস্থান: 
→ Sub+ Linking verb+ adjective.
- She looks happy.

→ Sub+ linking verb+ preposition + adverb.
- She looks up happily.

→ Sub+ linking verb+ adverb+ adjective.
- Jolly is extraordinarily beautiful.

• প্রশ্নে উল্লিখিত বাক্যটির গঠন অনুযায়ী Linking verb (sound) এর পর adjective বসবে। 
- অপশনসমূহের মধ্যে শুধুমাত্র sweet হচ্ছে adjective. 

Complete Sentence - The music sounds sweet and soothing. 

Univocal (adjective): 
English Meaning - Having one meaning only. 
Bangla Meaning - এককণ্ঠ সম্বন্ধীয়; একস্বরিক; একার্থক।

• Synonyms - Unambiguous (দ্ব্যর্থহীন), Clear (নিঃশংসয়; নিশ্চিত), Straightforward (অকপট), Frank (খোলাখুলি, স্বচ্ছ), Explicit (সুনির্দিষ্ট)। 
• Antonyms - Equivocal (দ্ব্যর্থবোধক), Vague (অস্পষ্ট), Doubtful (দ্বিধাগ্রস্ত, অনিশ্চিত), Obscure (অস্পষ্ট), Implicit (চাপা)। 

Example Sentence - Today’s political mainstream consists of a rising univocal, powerful, and intolerant pro-war movement for which the invasion is existential.

Bucolic (adjective):  
English Meaning: Connected with the countryside or country life. 
Bangla Meaning: রাখালি; গ্রামিক; পশুপালন বিষয়ক।

• Synonyms: Agrarian (কৃষি সংক্রান্ত), Pastoral (মেষপালক সংক্রান্ত), Rural (গ্রামীন), Country (কৃষি সংক্রান্ত), Farming (কৃষিকাজ সংক্রান্ত)। 
• Antonyms: Urban (শহুরে), Industrial (শিল্প সংক্রান্ত), Civic (পৌর, নগরীয়), City (শহর) Metropolis (মহানগরী)।

Other Forms:
- Bucolics (noun) (plural) রাখালি কবিতা; গোষ্ঠকাব্য।

Example Sentence:

Adhere to: 
English Meaning - To continue to obey, believe in, or support something, esp. a custom or belief. 
Bangla Meaning - (আনুষ্ঠানিক) (১) দৃঢ়ভাবে লেগে থাকা, সেঁটে থাকা।
(২) বিশ্বস্ত/ অনুগত/ অবিচল থাকা; বিচ্যুত না-হওয়া; দৃঢ়ভাবে সমর্থন করা: adhere to an opinion.

Example Sentences: 
- She adhered to her principles/ideals throughout her life.
- They failed to adhere to the terms of the agreement/treaty.

Complete Sentence - College coaches have to adhere to the rules about recruiting high school students.

Confide in: 
English Meaning - To tell something secret or personal to someone whom you trust not to tell anyone else.  
Bangla Meaning - বিশ্বাস করা; নির্ভর করা। 
Example Sentence - I can confide in his honesty.

Complete Sentence - She's nice, but I don't feel I can confide in her.
