• Adjective clause:
- যে Subordinate Clause কোনো Noun বা Pronoun এর পরে বসে ঐ Noun বা Pronoun কে modify করে তাকে Adjective Clause বলে।
- অর্থাৎ Noun এর Post Modifier হিসাবে Adjective clause বসে।

• Adjective Clause দুইটি স্থানে বসতে পারে।
01. Noun এর post modifier. (subject + verb + object + adjective clause).
02. Subject এর post modifier. (Subject + adjective clause + verb + object).

• Subordinate Clause:
- যে Clause এ একটি subject & একটি Finite verb থাকার পরেও পূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশের জন্যে Principal Clause এর উপর নির্ভরশীল তাকে Subordinate Clause বলে। 

• Subordinate Clause তিন প্রকার। যথা-
1. Noun Clause.
2. Adjective Clause.
3. Adverbial Clause.

• Subordinate Clause সাধারণত নিম্নলিখিত Word গুলো দিয়ে আরম্ভ হয়;
- Who, When, How, Where, Which, Because, If, As, Although, That, Why, So that, In order that, Whom, Hardly, Scarcely, Barely, No sooner, 

• যদি Because it was raining; এই clause টি একা বা স্বাধীনভাবে কোথাও ব্যবহার করা হয় তাহলে তা সম্পূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশ করছে না।
- অর্থ প্রকাশের জন্য অন্য একটি Principal Clause এর উপর এটি নির্ভরশীল। যেখানে we stayed indoors ব্যবহার করলে অর্থ প্রকাশ করছে।
- তাই এটি একটি Subordinate Clause.

- Adverbial Clause of time টি Conjunctions of time দিয়ে শুরু হয়। যেমন: As soon as, Before, After, Hardly --- when, No sooner --- than, Since, The sooner ইত্যাদি।
- Conjunctions of time বাক্যের শুরুতে বসলে এগুলো দিয়ে শুরু করে কমা পর্যন্ত Adverbial Clause হয় এবং বাকি অংশ Principle Clause হয়।যেমন: After the rain stopped, the children went out to play.
- আবার Conjunctions of time বাক্যের মাঝে বসলে এগুলো থেকে শুরু করে বাক্যের শেষ পর্যন্ত Adverbial Clause হয় এবং বাকি অংশ Principal Clause হয়। যেমন: The children went out to play after the rain stopped.
- Adverbial Clause of time, Principle Clause এর আগে বা পরে বসানো হয়।
- আগে বসলে Clause এ শেষে কমা বসে, পরে বসলে কমা বসে না।  

• Correct Answer: After the rain stopped, the children went out to play. Here, the underlined clause is a/ an - Adverbial Clause.

• Note: 
1. Complex Sentence এর time clause এ যখন ভবিষ্যৎ কালেও উল্লেখ থাকে, তখন Principal clause এ Future Tense ব্যবহার হয় কিন্তু subordinate clause এ Future Tense ব্যবহার হয় না। যেমন:
- Mr. Samad will telephone you as soon as he returns.

2. কিন্তু, time clause এ Future Perfect Tense ব্যবহার না হয়ে Present Perfect Tense ব্যবহার হয়। এ ক্ষেত্রে  Principal clause এ Future Tense ব্যবহার হয়। যেমন:
- I will return your book on Monday when I have read it.
