→ Imperative Sentence: যে বাক্য অনুরোধ, আদেশ, নির্দেশ, উপদেশ, পরামর্শ ইত্যাদি প্রকাশ করে, তাকে Imperative Sentence বলে।
• Assertive to Imperative করার নিয়াম:
→ Subject, You ছাড়া অন্য কিছু থাকলে প্রথমে Let বসবে, তারপর Subject এর Objective Form বসবে তারপর Verb এর Base Form বসবে।
→ structure: Let + Subject's objective form + Base form of verb.
→ অর্থাৎ যখন "I" (আমি) থাকে, তখন Let দিয়ে শুরু করতে হয়, তারপর 'me' (আমার) এবং Verb এর Base form 'finish' বসবে।

→ Transformation Rule অনুসারে উল্লিখিত প্রশ্নে "I must finish the work." এর সঠিক Imperative বাক্য হচ্ছে "Let me finish the work."

• Relinquish (verb)
English Meaning: To give up something such as a responsibility or claim.

→ Affirmative Sentence-এ "must" থাকলে Negative করার সময় "can not but" বা "can not help + verb-ing" ব্যবহৃত হয়। তবে "can not but" ব্যবহারের ক্ষেত্রে verb-এর base form অপরিবর্তিত থাকে।
→ Structure: can not but + base form of verb.

 এখানে "must" রয়েছে, তাই Negative করার সময় "can not but" ব্যবহার করব এবং "respect" (verb-এর base form) অপরিবর্তিত থাকবে।
→ অর্থাৎ Rule অনুসারে Correct Negative Sentence: "He can not but respect his elders."

→ যদি Assertive বাক্যে Auxiliary Verb থাকে, তবে সেটিকে Negative Interrogative করার সময় "n't" যুক্ত করতে হয়।
বাক্যের অর্থ পরিবর্তন করা যাবে না।
Note- assertive এ will, can, shall, am থাকলে interrogative এ রুপান্তর করার সময় won’t, can’t, shan’t, ain’t হয়.

- যদি আমরা সরাসরি Affirmative Interrogative করি (যেমন: Can you do the work?), তাহলে প্রশ্নের স্বাভাবিক অর্থ বদলে যায়।
- কিন্তু Negative Interrogative (Can’t you do the work?) করলে, প্রশ্নটি নিশ্চিতকরণমূলক হয় এবং বাক্যের অর্থ পরিবর্তন হয় না।
- তাই Assertive বাক্যকে Interrogative করার সময় Negative ব্যবহার করা হয়, যাতে অর্থ পরিবর্তন না হয়!

Interrogative: Isn’t he in the school?
Assertive: You can do the work.
Interrogative: Can’t you do the work?
