• Adverbial Phrase
- যে phrase বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয় adverb -এর মত কাজ করে তাকে Adverbial Phrase বলে ৷

• Prepositional Phrase
- যে phrase - preposition দিয়ে শুরু হয়, কিন্তু Adjective বা Adverb -এর কাজ করে, তাকে  Prepositional Phrase বলে।
- এখানে "near the mountains" Preposition দিয়ে শুরু হয়ে Adjective এর কাজ করছে তাই এটি Prepositional Phrase.

• Adjective phrase
- যে phrase গুলো sentence -এ adjective -এর মত কাজ করে, অর্থাৎ Noun/Pronoun -কে modify করে, সেই phrase গুলোকে Adjective phrase বলে।
- Noun/pronoun -এর পর যদি কোনো clause/phrase বসে ঐ noun/pronoun -কে modify করে তাহলে সেটি Adjective phrase হবে।
- এখানে "near the mountains" - 'The road' Noun -কে modify করছে, তাই এটি Adjective phrase.

• Phrase preposition
- কয়েকটি word একত্রে Preposition -এর কাজ করে।
- যেমন: in front of, because of ইত্যাদি।
- He waited in front of my home. এখানে, 'in front of' (সামনে) হলো- Phrase preposition কারণ, এটি preposition (before) -এর কাজ করেছে।

• Conjunctional phrase
- যখন কোন phrase বা শব্দসমষ্টি একটি বাক্যে ব্যবহৃত হয়ে Conjunction -এর কাজ করে তখন তাকে Conjunctional phrase বলে।
