English Meaning: A state of extreme poverty.

English Meaning: Able to make or usually making careful judgments about the quality of similar things.
Bangla Meaning: নির্ণয় করতে বা উপলব্ধি করতে সক্ষম; প্রাজ্ঞ।

• Abstract Noun: 
- যে Noun কোনো অবস্তুগত ধারণা বা গুনকে নির্দেশ করে, যার কোনো বাহ্যিক অস্তিত্ব নেই এবং যা ছোঁয়া যায় না, গন্ধ দ্বারা বা শ্রবন দ্বারা বোঝা যায় না কিন্তু কল্পনা দ্বারা বোঝা যায় তাদেরকে Abstract Noun বলে।
• Common Noun 
- যে noun কোন এক শ্রেণির ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর প্রত্যেকের সাধারণ নাম বুঝায় তাকে common  noun  বল

• Wisdom সাধারণত Abstract noun.
- কিন্তু uncountable ও abstract nouns এর আগে article ব্যবহার হয় না।
- Abstract noun এর পূর্বে Article বসালে সেটি Common noun হয়।
তাই সঠিক উত্তর - abstract noun, common noun
- কারণ দ্বিতীয় noun টির আগে the বসেছে।

Gerundial Phrase: Verb+ing + Extension যদি Noun (Subject/ Object) এর কাজ করে তবে তাকে Gerundial Phrase বলে।
যেমন:

• Acquit somebody (of/on something) নির্দোষ বলে রায় দেওয়া; খালাস দেওয়া; অভিযোগ থেকে অব্যাহতি দেওয়া।  
- কাউকে কোন কিছু হতে বেকসুর খালাস দেয়া বোঝাতে acquitted এরপর of, on দুইটাই use হয় তবে option এ on নেই তাই of ই হবে.

• শূন্যস্থানে সঠিক উত্তর হবে -  stayed.
- সাধারণত Would rather এর পরে Verb এর Present form হয়।
- যেমন - e: I would rather die than let you go.

• কিন্তু subject + would rather এবং এরপরে যদি আরেকটি subject আসে, তাহলে verb এর past indefinite অথবা past perfect tense হয়। 
- যেমন -
• I would rather you + the simple past - is a sentence structure you can use to express your preference about what somebody does in a specific present or future event.
Example: I would rather you didn’t go to the party this weekend; you have exams next week.

• I would rather you + the past perfect - is a sentence structure that allows you to express your preference over a situation that occurred in the past.
Example: I would rather you hadn’t called him and told him I was late.

- যেহেতু, প্রশ্ন প্রদত্ত বাক্যে, I’d rather you  এরপর দ্বিতীয় subject হিসাবে you এসেছে। তাই verb এর simple past form হবে।

• প্রশ্নে উল্লেখিত অপশন গুলোর মধ্যে - We played instead of working  বাক্যটি শুদ্ধ কারন, 
- preposition অথবা prepositional phrase এর পর noun/noun phrase বসে এবং verb থাকলে ing যুক্ত হয়।

- কিছু কিছু verb - যেমন - Reach, resemble, violate, discuss, resign, sign, investigate, recommend, order, command, enter, ইত্যাদি verb গুলো transitive বলে এদের পরে কোনো preposition বসে না।

• Cannot / can't help but - to be unable to refrain from or avoid; be obliged to - এর পরে verb এর base form বসে।
- Example sentence:

• Can't but এরপর verb এর base form বসে।
Example: She could not but congratulate him.

• কিন্তু,
Can't help এরপর verb + ing হয়।

দুই জনের মধ্যে তুলনা করার structure টা যদি of the two /between a and b এ রকম থাকে, তখন comparative degree এর পূর্বে the বসে। 
তাই শূন্যস্থানে the বসবে।

*** option ক) they should হবে না কারণ এরপরে যেহেতু v₃ রয়েছে, তাই they should be হলে এটা শুদ্ধ উত্তর হত।

• Point of time উল্লেখ থাকায় বুঝা যায় বাক্যটা Present Perfect Continuous Tense হবে।
- কিন্তু have, be, see, watch, understand ইত্যাদি মূল Verb হলে Present Perfect Continuous Tense এর পরিবর্তে Present Perfect Tense ব্যবহৃত হয়। 
- Sub + have/has + past participle form + ….......... + for/since + time.
- সুতরাং, নিয়মানুযায়ী সঠিক উত্তর - We have not had a holiday since the beginning of the year.

• 3rd Conditional এর নিয়মানুযায়ী, 
- Had + Subject + verb এর past participle form হলে এরপরের অংশে Subject + would/could/might + have + verb এর past participle form + ext হয়। 
- যেহেতু প্রশ্নে উল্লেখিত বাক্যের দ্বিতীয় অংশে Had it not been for your help আছে, তাই নিয়মানুযায়ী ' would not miss' এর correct replacement হবে - 'would not have missed'
- সম্পুর্ন বাক্য - Had you walked fast, you would not have missed the train. 

• By + gerund (verb-ing) Simple Sentence কে Complex Sentence এ transform করার নিয়ম:
(i) By এর জায়গায় if বসে।
(ii) Verb এর ing-form মূল verb এ পরিবর্তিত হয়।
(iii) Finite verb এর subject থেকে অবশিষ্ট বাক্যাংশ অপরিবর্তিত থাকে।

- তাই নিয়মানুযায়ী সঠিক উত্তর - If you read this book, you will have nice directions to cut a good figure at the job interview.

• Simple sentence এ to অথবা in order to থাকলে Compound sentence এ and so/ and therefore বসাতে হয়।
- এক্ষেত্রে Clause গুলো উল্টে যাবে এবং প্রথম Clause এ ‘want to’ যোগ হবে।
- সে অনুসারে প্রদত্ত বাক্যের সঠিক compound form হবে: We wanted to practice more and therefore we bought some new books.

What, half, quite, rather, such ইত্যাদি কোন Noun বা Noun Phrase কে Modify করলে, ঐ Noun বা Noun Phrase এর পূর্বে a/an বসে।
আর As, so, too, how ইত্যাদি Adverb কোন Adjective কে Modify করলে এবং Adjective এর পর কোন Noun থাকলে ঐ Noun এর আগে a/an বসে।

Correct Sentences:
- I want such a boy. 
- How ideal a village it is. 
- I have half a loaf.
- It is rather a hard a sum.

Alacrity [Uncountable noun]

English Meaning: Speed and interest.
Bangla Meaning: উদ্যমপরতা; কর্মচাঞ্চল্য।

Synonyms: Enthusiasm (প্রবল উৎসাহ), Keenness (প্রখরা), Willingness (সম্মতি), Exuberance (উচ্ছাস), Eagerness (আকুলতা)। 
Antonyms: Apathy (উদাসীনতা বা অনীহা). Callous (উদাসীনতা), Indifference (অনীহা), Numbness (অসাড়তা), Phlegm (কাজ করা/অনুভব করার ক্ষেত্রে ধীরমতি; প্রকৃতিগত ঔদাসীন্য)। 


Other Forms:
- Alacritous (adjective)

Example Sentence: 
1. He invited us all to visit, and we agreed with alacrity.
2. He accepted the Job offer with alacrity.

Superlative কে Positive করতে হলে চারটি কাজ করতে হয়:
1. Subject- Object হয়, Object - Subject হয়।
2. Affirmative -Negative হয়, Negative Affirmative হয়।
3. Degree change হয়।
4. Indicator Change হয়।

Structure: One of the ছাড়া শুধু Superlative Degree থাকলে :-
No other + Object অংশের Noun + Verb + as/ so + Positive Degree + as + Subject.

সে অনুসারে correct possitive form হবে - খ) No other country in the world is as large as Russia.

কেবল অপশন গ এর verb দিয়ে Action বুঝাচ্ছে। 
ক, খ ও ঘ এর Verb সমূহ  Subject ও Subjective Complement এর মধ্যে Link তৈরি করে দিচ্ছে, তাই এগুলো linking verb. 

তাই সঠিক উত্তর (গ)

Article বা determiner শুধু noun এর পূর্বে বসে noun বা pronoun কে modify করে।

এখানে,
• Coward, fool, patriot সবগুলো Noun, তাই এগুলোর পূর্বে a বসানো সঠিক।
• কিন্তু mad হচ্ছে Adjective, তাই এর পূর্বে article ‘a’ বসানো ভুল।

• That যখন Demonstrative pronoun হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয় তখন এর অর্থ হয় ঐ, ওটা; অর্থাৎ, তখন এটি singular হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
Demonstrative pronoun এর ক্ষেত্রে that এর Plural form হিসেবে those ব্যবহৃত হয় যার অর্থ ওগুলো।

• That যখন Relative pronoun হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয় তখন এর অর্থ হয় যে, যা, যারা, যেগুলো, ইত্যাদি।
অর্থাৎ, Relative pronoun এর ক্ষেত্রে singular ও plural উভয়টিই That দ্বারা প্রকাশ করা হয়।

সাধারণত had এর পরে Verb এর Past Participle বসে।
তবে had থাকা সত্ত্বেও had better এর পর Verb এর base form বসবে।
যেমন- I had better leave now. (আমি বরং এখন চলে যাওয়াই ভালো।)

had better = বরং ভালো।

Determiner এর প্রধান কাজ Noun/Pronoun-কে Determine করা।
Noun/Pronoun এর নির্দিষ্টতা-অনির্দিষ্টতা বুঝাতে এটি ব্যবহার হয়।

The rest of - অবশিষ্ট।
প্রদত্ত বাক্যে determiner হিসেবে The rest of ব্যবহৃত হয়েছে যা the people কে determine করছে।
এটি Countable/uncountable উভয় প্রকার noun এর পূর্বেই বসতে পারে।

অতীতের অভ্যাস/ অভস্ত্যতা বোঝাতে used to ব্যবহৃত হয়।

শুধু used to এর পর verb এর Base form বসে।
কিন্তু be used to/ get used to এর পর verb+ing বসে। 

be/get used to = অভ্যস্থ থাকা।

তাই এখানে সঠিক উত্তর হবে - গ) I was used to living alone.

একটি বাক্যের চারটি স্থানে Noun clause  বসতে পারে-

- Consolable (adjective): সান্ত্বনা বা প্রবোধ দেওয়া যায় এমন।
- Consolation (noun): সান্ত্বনা; প্রবোধ

Compound থেকে complex এ রূপান্তর করতে হলে প্রথমে দুটি clause এর মধ্যে সম্পর্ক কী সেটা আগে নির্ণয় করতে হবে। যেমন: কারণ-ফলাফল, কাজ-উদ্দেশ্য, ঘটনা-ঘটনার সময়, শর্ত-ফলাফল, ব্যক্তি-যে, বস্তু-যা ইত্যাদি।
 
Compound থেকে Complex করতে হলে: 
1.    Compound এর Conjunction বাদ দিতে হবে; 
2.    Complex এর Conjunction যোগ করতে হবে; 
3.    2টি Clause এর মধ্যে ১টি Clause যেভাবে আছে সেভাবে রেখে দিতে হবে।

The meeting was over and we went back home.
- এই বাক্যে ঘটনা-ঘটনার সময় সম্পর্ক নির্দেশ করছে। তাই complex এর conjunction হিসেবে ‘when’ বসাতে হবে। 

সুতরাং, বাক্যটির সঠিক Complex form হবে - When the meeting was over, we went back home.

অপশনগুলোর মধ্যে few এবং a few কেবল Countable noun কে modify করতে পারে।
তাই সঠিক উত্তর (খ)।

Few এর সাথে little থাকার কারণে (গ) ভুল।

'Than any other/ than all other' যুক্ত Comparative sentence কে Superlative করার নিয়ম হচ্ছে - 
- প্রথম subject প্রথমেই বসবে + the + comparative এর Superlative form + Than any other/ Than all other এর পরের অংশ।

সুতরাং, নিয়মানুযায়ী সঠিক উত্তর - Talha is the best boy in the class.
- Best হচ্ছে better এর Superlative form.

• Simple sentence এ “besides being” থাকলে compound sentence এ “not only..….but also” structure ব্যবহার করে compound sentence টি গঠন করতে হয়।

- সুতরাং সঠিক বাক্যটি হবে - He is not only a professor but also a musician.

But যুক্ত Compound sentence কে Simple sentence এ রূপান্তর: 
- শুরুতে in spite of/despite বসে।
- person অনুযায়ী possessive form যেমন: my/his/her বসে। 
- প্রথম clause এর adjective এর noun form + দ্বিতীয় clause ব্যবহার করা হয়।

Example:
Compound: They are strong but they have been defeated.
Simple: In spite of their strength, they have been defeated.
 
Compound: He is rich but he is unhappy. 
Simple: In spite of his riches he is unhappy.

Compound: He was ill, but he came for rehearsal.
Simple: In spite of his illness, he came for rehearsal

- এর verb form হচ্ছে - Extend.

English Meaning: Area or length; amount.
Bangla Meaning: 
(১) সীমা; আয়তন; চৌহদ্দি; ব্যাপ্তি।
(২) মাত্রা; পরিমাণ: to a certain/to some extent, অংশত; কিছু পরিমাণে; কিছুটা।

• Simple sentence টি দ্বারা সময় নির্দেশ করলে when যুক্ত করে complex করতে হবে।
এখানে at twenty দ্বারা বুঝাচ্ছে ২০ বছর বয়সে।

- তাই সঠিক উত্তর - Kamal joined here when he was twenty.

- সুতরাং, Random order is not a common method of organizing a paragraph.

- Negative sentence এ never থাকলে Affirmative এ alwasys ব্যবহার করতে হয়।
- এবং বাক্যটির একটি noun, adjective, বা verb বিপরীতার্থক করতে হয়।

Negative: The man is never rude to me.
Affirmative: The man is always kind to me.

Negative: He is never absent.
Affirmative: He is always present.

Simple sentence:
- যে sentence এ  শুধু একটি clause থাকে অর্থাৎ একটি Subject এবং একটি Finite Verb বা সমাপিকা ক্রিয়া থাকে তাকে Simple Sentence বলে। 
- এছাড়া simple sentence এ সাধারণত In spite of, Despite, Because of ইত্যাদি থাকে।
- "Without reading hard" একটি phrase; clause নয়। 
- তাই 'Without reading hard, you cannot pass.' একটি Simple sentence.

Complex sentence: 
- যে sentence এ একটি Principal clause এবং এক বা একাধিক Subordinate clause থাকে, তাকে Complex sentence বলে। 
- Complex sentence এর subordinate clause এর শুরুতে সাধারণত if, though, although, as, because, since, so that, that, until, till, unless, when, why, who, which, where, how, before, after, whether, while বসে।

Compound sentence:
- Compound sentence-এ একের অধিক principal clause থাকে যাদেরকে co-ordinate clause বলা হয়।
- অর্থাৎ Compound sentence এ দুই বা ততোধিক principal clause বা co-ordinate clause থাকে।
- এছাড়া Compound sentence এ সাধারণত and, or, but, yet, so, therefore, otherwise, else, both --- and , either --- or , neither — nor, not only --- but also ইত্যাদি co-ordinating conjunction দ্বারা দুইটি principal clause যুক্ত থাকে।

Optative Sentence এর Direct Speech থেকে Indirect Speech এ রূপান্তর করা নিয়ম:
- Reported speech-Allah/God-এর উল্লেখ না থাকলে এবং কোন ইচ্ছা/কামনা বুঝালে say/said এর বদলে Indirect Speech-এ wish/wished ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- তখন structure-টি হবে নিম্নরূপ:
Wish + that + Subject + might + V

Example:
Direct: The old man said, 'Could I get some money.'
Indirect: The old man wished that he could/might get some money.

Direct: The mother said to her so, 'May you pass the exam.'
Indirect: The mother wished that her son might pass the exam.

One of the যুক্ত Superlative Degree কে Positive Degree করার নিয়ম:
(i) Very few বসে।
(ii) Superlative Adjective এর পর থেকে বাকি অংশ বসে।
(iii) Verb এর Plural form বসবে।
(iv) As/So + Superlative Adjective positive form + As
(v) প্রদত্ত Sentence এর Subject বসে।

Example:
Superlative: Shakespeare is one of the most renowned dramatists in the world.
Positive: Very few dramatists in the world are as renowned as Shakespeare.

Superlative: He is one of the best boys in the class.
Positive: Very few boys in the class are as good as him.

Superlative: Iron is one of the most useful metals.
Positive: Very few metals are as useful as iron.

Active Voice থেকে Passive Voice এ রূপান্তর:
- Active Voice এর Subject, Passive Voice এর Verb এর Object হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- Active Voice এর object, Passive Voice এর Verb এর Subject হিসেবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।
- Tense এবং mood অনুযায়ী be verb বসে। 
- মূল Verb এর Past Participle বসে।
- Object এর পূর্বে by (to/ with/at/in) Preposition বসে।

Example: 
Active: Habiganj grows tea.
Passive: Tea is grown in Habiganj.
