- Homer's Odyssey এর আধুনিক ভার্সন হিসেবে একে বিবেচনা করা হয়।

• 'Riders To the Sea’ by John Millington John Millington Synge is an - one act play.
- It won critical acclaim as one of dramatic literature’s greatest one-act plays.
- Riders to the Sea is set in the Aran Islands off the west coast of Ireland.
- Synge মুলত আরান দ্বীপপুঞ্জে শোনা একটি গল্পের উপর ভিত্তি করে তার এই play টি রচনা করেছিলেন। 
- Maurya নামক একজন বৃদ্ধ মহিলার জীবনের কঠিন দুঃখ -দুর্দশা এবং বেদনার চিত্র বর্ণিত হয়েছে এই নাটকে , যিনি তার ছোট ছেলে Bartley ছাড়া, পরিবারের সকল পুরুষ সদস্যদের কে সাগরের ঝড়ের মাঝে বিভিন্ন সময়ে হারিয়ে ফেলেছেন.

- এই উপন্যাসটিতে মানুষ এবং ভিন গ্রহের প্রাণীর সংঘাতের কথা বলা হয়েছে। 
- পৃথিবীর ইতিহাসের অন্যতম সায়েন্স ফিকশন এটি। 
- Martia  নামের এক প্রজাতি যারা Mars গ্রহের অধিবাসী। তারা পৃথিবীতে আক্রমণ করে। ভয়ানক এবং রক্তক্ষয়ী সংঘর্ষ হয়।

- দুইটি ভাগে বিভক্ত এটা মূলত: T.S Eliot রচিত একটি Poetic Drama.
- St. Thomas Becket কে Canterbury Cathedral বা গীর্জাতে রাজা হেনরি কর্তৃক অন্যায় ভাবে নিহত করার ঘটনাটি এখানে তুলে ধরা হয়েছে।
- এজন্য এই নাটকটিকে Miracle Play বা Saint’s Play ও বলা হয়ে থাকে।
