Vituperative (adjective): 
English Meaning: A vituperative spoken or written attack is full of angry criticism.
Bangla Meaning: গালিগালাজপূর্ণ; কটূক্তিপূর্ণ।

Synonyms: Slighting (অবজ্ঞাসূচক), Disparaging (মর্যাদাহানিকর), Abusive (গালিগালাজপূর্ণ), Coruscating (অপমান এবং নিন্দাসূচক), Deprecative(অবজ্ঞামূলক)। 
Antonyms: Respectful (সশ্রদ্ধ), Civil (ভদ্র; ভদ্রজনোচিত), Mannerly (ভদ্র; বিনয়ী), Polite (বিনয়ী), Reverential (ভক্তি বা সম্ভ্রমপূর্ণ)।

সময় নির্দেশক Compound Sentence কে Simple Sentence করার নিয়ম: 
- সময় নির্দেশক Clause এর subject (it) ও verb উঠে যায় + সময় বাচক অংশটি বসে + and উঠে যায় + তার পরের অংশ বসে। 
- এই sentence টির Simple form হবে: Ten years ago, I was living in Sylhet.

Tortuous (adjective): 
English Meaning: Full of twists and turns; not straight or direct.
Bangla Meaning: আঁকাবাঁকা: a tortuous path; (লাক্ষণিক) জটিল, প্যাঁচানো: a tortuous man.

Synonyms: Twisting (মোচড়), Curving (কুঁচন), Sinuous (আঁকাবাঁকা; ঘোরানো; পাকানো), Tangled (জট), Byzantine (অত্যন্ত জটিল এবং প্যাঁচানো। 
Antonyms: Straight (সরস; ঋজু; সিধা), Straightforward (সহজবোধ্য; সহজসাধ্য), Direct (সরাসরি), Simple (সহজ), Uncomplicated (জটিলতামুক্ত)।

Specious (adjective): 
English Meaning: Seeming to be right or true, but really wrong or false. 
Bangla Meaning: আপাতদৃষ্টিতে যথার্থ বা সত্য বলে মনে হয় এমন; (কিন্তু আসলে তা নয়): a specious argument.

Synonyms: Misleading (বিভ্রান্তিকর), Deceptive (প্রতারণামূলক), Fallacious (বিভ্রান্তিকর; ভ্রান্তিমূলক), Spurious (প্রতারণা মূলক), Gilded (স্বর্ণবৃত্তি করা)।

Let not যুক্ত Imperative Sentence এর Active voice কে Passive voice এ রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম: 
- Let not + Object টি Subject হয় + be + verb এর past participle হয় + (by you).

English Meaning: A range of objects, ideas, or opinions.
Bangla Meaning: বর্ণচ্ছটা; বর্ণালি; (লাক্ষণিক) বিস্তৃতি, বিস্তৃত পরিসর বা ধারা: The whole spectrum of recent political development.

Stipulate (verb): 
English Meaning: To say exactly how something must be or must be done.
Bangla Meaning: (১) প্রয়োজনীয় শর্ত হিসেবে কোনোকিছু উপস্থাপন করা: It was stipulated that payment should be made in foreign exchange.
(২) stipulate for something চুক্তির শর্ত হিসেবে কোনো বিষয়ে জোর করা: stipulate for after sales service.

Synonyms: Specify (সুনির্দিষ্টভাবে উল্লেখ করা), Impose (আরোপ করা; চাপানো), Demand (চাওয়া; দাবি/হুকুম/তলব করা), Qualify (বৈশিষ্ট্যযুক্ত করা), Provide (প্রদান করা)।

- প্রদত্ত sentence টি হচ্ছে complex sentence. 
- Since/as  যুক্ত Complex sentence এর subject দুটি এক হলে এবং since/as যুক্ত clause টিতে শুধুমাত্র be verb / have verb থাকলে simple করার নিয়ম: Since/as এর পরিবর্তে Because of বসে + সে clause এর subject এর possessive form + be verb এর পরিবর্তে being অথবা have verb এর পরিবর্তে having + সে sentence এর বাকি অংশ + অপর sentence টি বসে।

We could not go out for a walk as the weather was bad- এটি একটি Complex Sentence. 
• Complex Sentence-  এর একটি clause- এর আগে as থাকলে তাকে Compound Sentence এ রূপান্তরিত করতে হলে 'as' তুলে দিয়ে তার পরবর্তী clause টি প্রথমে লিখে তারপর 'and' লিখতে হবে এবং প্রথম clause টি বসিয়ে দিতে হবে। 
• তাই সঠিক উত্তরটি হবে: The weather was bad and we could not go out for a walk.

এখানে 'macaroni' হচ্ছে Factitive object. 
Factitive Object: 
- Select, elect, name, nominate, make, call ইত্যাদি transitive verb গুলোর object থাকা সত্ত্বেও সম্পূর্ণরূপে অর্থ প্রকাশ করতে পারে না। পরিপূর্ণ অর্থ প্রকাশ করার জন্য অতিরিক্ত object আনতে হয়, এই অতিরিক্ত object কে Factitive object বলে। যেমন: We made him captain. 

Factitive object যুক্ত Active voice কে Passive voice এ রূপান্তরের নিয়ম: 
(i) Pronominal object (me, us, you, them, him, her) টি Subject হয়, 
(ii) Tense ও person অনুযায়ী auxiliary verb বসে, 
(iii) মূল verb এর past participle বসে, 
(iv) Factitive object টি বসে, 
(v) by বসে, 
(vi) Subject টির objective form বসে। 
তাই সঠিক উত্তরটি হবে- It was called macaroni by him.

She is too tall to enter the room এটি একটি Simple Sentence. 
• Noun phrase + be + too + Adjective + to + verb- এ ধরণের Simple Sentence কে Complex Sentence এ রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম: 
(i) প্রথমে noun phrase বসবে, 
(ii) so + adjective + that বসবে, 
(iii) noun, 
(iv) cannot বসবে, 
(v) verb + বাকী অংশ বসবে। 
• তাই উত্তরটি হবে: She is so tall that she cannot enter the room.

He said that he had gone to Khulna- এটি একটি Complex Sentence. 
- Complex Sentence এর একটি clause যদি 'that' দ্বারা শুরু হয়, তাহলে তাকে compound এ রূপান্তরিত করতে হলে that এর পরবর্তী clause টিকে প্রথমে লিখে তারপর and যোগ করতে হবে that এর আগের clause টি বসাতে হবে এবং তার শেষে it/this বসাতে হবে। 
- তাই সঠিক উত্তরটি হবে: He had gone to Khulna and he said this.

London is one of the biggest cities of the world- এই  sentence টি Superlative degree তে আছে। 
• Noun phrase 1 + be verb + one of the + Adjective (superlative) + Noun phrase 2 (plural) + phrase- এই ধরণের Superlative degree এর sentence কে Positive degree তে রূপান্তরের নিয়ম: 
- প্রথমে Very few বসবে + Noun phrase 2 (plural) বসবে + phrase + be + as + adjective + as + Noun phrase 1. 

তাই উত্তরটি হবে: Very few cities of the world are as big as London.

Tout (verb): 
English Meaning: To try to persuade people that somebody/something is important or valuable by praising them/it
Bangla Meaning: অতিরিক্ত প্রশংসা/ প্রচার করার দ্বারা কাউকে প্ররোচিত করা অথবা কাজ হাসিল করা। 

Synonyms: Laud (গুণকীর্তন করা), Boast (দম্ভোক্তি করা), Promote (প্রচারণা করা), Glorify (মহান বলে প্রচার করা), Praise (প্রশংসা করা)। 
Antonyms: Criticize (সমালোচনা করা), Condemn (নিন্দা করা), Blame (দায়ী করা), Hate (অপছন্দ করা) Discourage (নিরুৎসাহিত করা)।

He will have known it by this time- এই sentence টি Future Perfect Tense এ আছে। 
• Future Perfect Tense এর Active voice কে Passive voice এ রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম: 
- Object টি Subject হবে + shall/will + have been + Verb এর Past participle form বসবে + by + subject টি object হবে + phrase/clause বসবে। 
- তাই সঠিক উত্তরটি হবে: It will have been known by him by this time.

• Complex Sentence এর একটি clause এর আগে যদি though বা although থাকে তাহলে তাকে compound- এ রূপান্তরিত করতে হলে though/although এর পরবর্তী clause টি আগে লিখে তারপর but লিখতে হবে এবং তারপর though/although এর আগের clause টি লিখতে হবে।

Telltale (adjective): 
English Meaning: 
1. Disclosing unintentionally something concealed.
2. Showing that something exists or has happened.
Bangla Meaning: গোপনকথা ফাঁসকারী। 

Synonyms: Disclosing, Revealing (কথার ফাঁকে গোপন কথা ফাঁস করা, উন্মোচন করা), Blabber (অনর্থক কথা বলা), Chatter (আগড়ম বাগড়ম), Cackle (বোকার মত বকবক করা)।
Antonyms: Uninformative (তথ্যবিহীন), Unrevealing (অপ্রকাশ্য), Uninstructive (অনির্দেশক), Unhelpful (সাহায্য করবে না এমন), Useless (অকেজো)।

- Telltale (Noun)= Someone who gossips indiscreetly.

- Very few students are as attentive as Shakib এই sentence টি positive degree তে আছে। 
- Very few যুক্ত Positive degree কে Comparative degree তে রূপান্তর করার নিয়ম : Subject + verb + positive degree এর comparative form + than most other + very few এর পর থেকে verb এর পূর্ব পর্যন্ত। 
- এখানে attentive এর comparative form হচ্ছে more attentive.

Redeem (verb): 
English Meaning: 
1. to make somebody/something seem less bad
2. to do something to improve the opinion that people have of you, especially after you have done something bad.
Bangla Meaning: 
(১) কিছু করে বা অর্থ পরিশোধ করে (কোনো কিছু) উদ্ধার করা; পুনরুদ্ধার করা; Redeem a pawned necklace; Redeem one’s honour.
(২) (প্রতিশ্রুতি বা দায়িত্ব) পালন বা রক্ষা করা।
(৩) অর্থ পরিশোধ করে বা মুক্তিপণ দিয়ে মুক্ত করা; ত্রাণ করা: redeem a slave/prisoner; (যিশু কর্তৃক) পাপমুক্ত করা।
(৪) ক্ষতিপূরণ করা; প্রায়শ্চিত্ত করা: his redeeming feature, যে দিকটি তার দোষত্রুটির ক্ষতি পূরণ করে। 

Synonyms: Pay off (পরিশাধ), Restore (পুনরুদ্ধার), Repay (শোধ দেয়া), Regain (পুনরুদ্ধার করা), Complete (সমাপ্ত করা)।

Slack (adjective): 
English Meaning: 1. Not stretched tight.
2. (of business) not having many customers or sales; not busy.
3. (disapproving) not putting enough care, attention or energy into something and so not doing it well enough
Bangla Meaning: (১) কর্তব্যকর্মে অমনোযোগী; নির্জীব। 
(২) নিথর; নিষ্ক্রিয়; মন্দা। 
(৩) শিথিল; ঢিলা: a slack rope.

Synonyms: Sloppy (ঢিলেঢালা), Sluggish (ধীর গতির), Dull (নির্জীব), Flimsy (নগন্য), Slow(ধীর)।
Antonyms: Active (সক্রিয়), Intelligent (বুদ্ধিমান), Lively (প্রাণবন্ত), Smart (চৌকষ) Bright (উজ্জল, প্রখর)।
Other Forms:
 - (Verb intransitive): (১) slack (off) কাজে ঢিলা দেওয়া: slack off in one’s studies.

- Compound sentence এ দুটি clause এর মধ্যে যদি but ব্যবহৃত হয় তাহলে তাকে simple করতে হলে but এর আগের clause টির আগে In spite of(সত্ত্বেও) বসিয়ে ঐ clause টিকে noun phrase এ রূপান্তরিত করতে হবে।

English Meaning: To make the development or progress of something slower.
Bangla Meaning: দমন করা; প্রতিহত করা: retard development.
- a mentally retarded child: মানসিক প্রতিবন্ধী শিশু।

Synonyms: Handicap, Delay, Slow (ধীর গতির, প্রতিবন্ধি, মোটাবুদ্ধি), Impede (বাধা দেওয়া), Lessen (হ্রাস করা)।
