♦ Possessive adjective:
- A possessive adjective indicates possession or ownership.
- It suggests the belongingness of something to someone.

• My, our, his, her এসব হলো possessive pronoun এর উদাহরণ।
- কিন্তু এই শব্দ গুলোর পরে যখন noun বসে তখন এরা Possessive adjective রূপে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

যেমন: This is his book.
- এই বাক্যটি লক্ষ্য করলে দেখা যায় his এর পর book শব্দটি রয়েছে যা একটি noun.
- Noun এর আগে বসে এটি noun এর সাথে একটি সম্পর্ক স্থাপন করে তাই এটি Possessive adjective হিসেবে বিবেচিত। 

• Some of the most used possessive adjectives are my, his, her, our, their, your.
- এই শব্দ গুলো সবসময় noun এর আগে বসে তাই এরা adjective রূপে বিবেচিত।
- Possessive pronoun হিসেবে যখন এরা ব্যবহৃত হয় তখন এদের পরে noun প্রয়োজন হয় না।
- কিন্তু Possessive adjective এর পরে noun প্রয়োজন হয়।

♦ Adverb of place:
- যে Adverb কোন কিছু কোথায় ঘটেছে তা উল্লেখ করে তাকে Adverb of place বলে।
- এ জাতীয় Adverb গুলো ক্রিয়া সম্পাদিত হওয়ার স্থান নির্দেশ করে।
- 'Where' প্রশ্নের জবাব যে word থেকে পাওয়া যায় তাকে Adverb of place বলে। 
- Home, abroad, here, there, nowhere ইত্যাদি Adverb of place কে নির্দেশ করে। 
- এটা verb এর পরে, direct object হিসেবে অথবা sentence এর শুরুতে ব্যবহৃত হয়। 

• উল্লেখিত বাক্যটি 'The cat ran far away.' এখানে "far away"  হলো 'অনেক দূরে' বোঝায়, যা Adverb of place.
- কারণ একে 'Where' দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে উত্তর পাওয়া যায়।

প্রশ্নে উল্লেখিত অন্য বাক্যগুলো,
• Adverb of time.
- এই ধরনের Adverb গুলো ক্রিয়া সম্পন্ন হওয়ার সময় বুঝায়।
- এটি সাধারণত 'When' বা 'কখন' দিয়ে প্রশ্ন করলে উত্তর দেয়।

• Adverb of manner.
- যে adverb কোন কিছু কিভাবে হয়/হচ্ছে তা উল্লেখ করে তাকে Adverb of manner বলে। 
- এর দ্বারা কোন কাজ কেমনভাবে সংঘটিত হয় তা জানা যায়।

• Adverb of frequency.
- যে Adverb কোন কিছু কতবার বা কতো সময় পরপর হয় তা বোঝায় তাকে Adverb of frequency বলে।

♦ Clue to:
Meaning: সূত্র।
Example: I found the clue to the mystery.

• Appropriate preposition এর ক্ষেত্রে,
- Clue এর সাথে 'সূত্র' অর্থ বুঝাতে to বসে।
- এই বাক্যটির ক্ষেত্রে to বসালে বাক্যটির অর্থ পরিপূর্ণ হয়।
- তাই এই বাক্যে preposition হিসেবে to বসবে।

Complete sentence: The mysterious note found in the old book was a clue to a hidden treasure.

♦ Adverb: 
- যেসব word noun বা pronoun ছাড়া অন্য যেকোন parts of speech, বিশেষ করে verb কে modify করে সেগুলোকে adverb বলে। 

• প্রশ্নে উল্লেখিত yesterday হলো Adverb of time.
- এই ধরনের Adverb গুলো ক্রিয়া সম্পন্ন হওয়ার সময় বুঝায়।
- এটি সাধারণত 'When' বা 'কখন' দিয়ে প্রশ্ন করলে উত্তর দেয়।

♦ Adverb of manner:
- যে adverb কোন কিছু কিভাবে হয়/হচ্ছে তা উল্লেখ করে তাকে Adverb of manner বলে। 
- এর দ্বারা কোন কাজ কেমনভাবে সংঘটিত হয় তা জানা যায়। 
- Most of these adverbs have 'ly' at its end, such as, clearly, quickly, badly, slowly etc.

সুতরাং, প্রশ্নে উল্লেখিত বাক্যটির slowly হলো Adverb of manner.
- কারণ এখানে ক্রিয়াকে 'কেমনভাবে' দ্বারা প্রশ্ন করলে সঠিক উত্তর পাওয়া যায়। 

অন্যদিকে,
Adverb of time: 
- এই ধরনের Adverb গুলো ক্রিয়া সম্পন্ন হওয়ার সময় বুঝায়।
- এটি সাধারণত 'When' বা 'কখন' দিয়ে প্রশ্ন করলে উত্তর দেয়।

Adverb of place:
- যে Adverb কোন কিছু কোথায় ঘটেছে তা উল্লেখ করে তাকে Adverb of place বলে।
- 'Where' প্রশ্নের জবাব যে word থেকে পাওয়া যায় তাকে Adverb of place বলে। 

Adverb of frequency: 
- যে Adverb কোন কিছু কতবার বা কতো সময় পরপর হয় তা বোঝায় তাকে Adverb of frequency বলে।

♦ Collective noun: 
- যে সকল noun দ্বারা এক জাতীয় ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুর সমষ্টিকে বোঝায় তাকে তাদেরকে Collective noun বলে। 
- A collective noun is a noun that refers to a group (of people, animals, things, etc.)
- Example: flock, cavalry, crowd, gang, infantry, navy, audience etc.

 ♦ Pathos [Uncountable Noun]
English Meaning: (in writing, speech and plays) The power of a performance, description, etc. to make you feel sympathy or be sad.
Bangla Meaning: করুণ রস।

Synonyms: Emotion (আবেগময়), Sadness (ব্যাথা/বেদনা), Tragedy (বিয়োগান্তক), Poignancy (মর্মস্পর্শীতা), Desolation (নিরানন্দতা)।
Antonyms: Cheer (উদ্দীপনা), Happiness (খুশী), Joy (আনন্দ), Glee (উল্লাস), Softness (স্নিগ্ধতা)।

(১) plural stigmas [স্টিগমাদ্‌] (লাক্ষণিক) লজ্জা বা কলঙ্কের চিহ্ন: the stigma of treachery.
(২) (plural stigmata [স্টিগমাটা] আসিসির সাধু ফ্রান্সিস এবং অন্যদের শরীরের এমন দাগ যার সঙ্গে ক্রুশবিদ্ধ যিশুর ক্ষতিচিহ্নের সাদৃশ্য রয়েছে।
(৩) (plural stigmas) (উদ্ভিদবিদ্যা) গর্ভকেশরের পরাগ্রাহী অংশ; গর্ভমুণ্ড।

♦ Materiel noun: 
- যে noun কোন পদার্থের সমুদয় অংশকে এককভাবে  বুঝায় এবং তার অন্তর্গত কোন অংশকে বুঝায় না তাকে Materiel noun বলে।
- এগুলো গণনা করা যায় না কিন্তু পরিমাপ করা যায়।
- Water হলো Materiel noun কারণ এটি এমন একটি বস্তুবাচক জিনিস যা গণনা করা যায় না তবে পরিমাপ/ওজন করা যায়।
- কিছু উদাহরণ: gold, iron, silver, steel, tea, sand, wood, mutton, oil etc.

Meaning: বাস করা।
Example: The manager dwells in a fine house.

• Appropriate preposition এর ক্ষেত্রে,
- 'বাস করা' অর্থ বোঝাতে Dwell এর পরে in বসে।
- তাই শূন্যস্থানে in বসালে বাক্যটি পরিপূর্ণ হয়।

♦ Dismiss (verb transitive)
English Meaning:
1. To decide that something or someone is not important and not worth considering;
2. To formally ask or order someone to leave.
Bangla Meaning:
(১) dismiss from চাকরি থেকে বরখাস্ত করা: He was dismissed from his job.
(২) বিদায় দেওয়া; চলে যেতে অনুমতি দেওয়া: The class was dismissed at 2 O’clock.
(৩) মন থেকে কোনো চিন্তা দূর করা; কোনো বিষয়ে আর না-ভাবা: He dismissed all thoughts of returning to his native country.
(৪) (মামলা) খারিজ করা।

Synonyms: Reject (বাতিল করা), Discharge (দায়িত্ব থেকে অব্যাহতি দেওয়া), Expel (বহিষ্কার বা বিতাড়িত করা), Banish (নির্বাসিত করা), Terminate (শেষ করা)।
