সাধারণত, reported speech যদি Present indefinite হয়, তাহলে এর Indirect narration এ Past indefinite হয়। 
কিন্তু, reported clause দ্বারা যদি Universal truth/ Historical event/ Natural phenomena/Mathematical equations/ Moral Principles and Proverbs/ Habitual action (a part of the daily routine) বুঝায় তাহলে Indirect speech এ এর tense পরিবর্তিত হয় না; reporting verb টি যে tense ই হোক না কেন।

উদাহরণ:
Habitual Action:
Direct: Rahim said, "We play cricket every day."
Indirect – Rahim said that they play cricket every day.

Direct: Karim said, "I read a book every day".
Indirect: Karim said that he reads a book every day. 

Scientific Statements: 
Direct: The teacher said to the children, “Water freezes into ice below 0°C.”    
Indirect: The teacher told the children that water freezes into ice below 0°C.

Moral Principles and Proverbs: 
Direct: “Honesty is the best policy.” They said.
Indirect: They said that honesty is the best policy.

Natural Phenomena: 
Direct: I said, “Water is colourless.” 
Indirect: I said that water is colourless.

Mathematical Equations:
Direct: “Five and five make ten.” Said the girl.    
Indirect: The girl said that five and five make four.

Historical Event:
Direct: Our teacher said to us, “The Liberation War took place in 1971.”
Indirect: Our teacher told us that the Liberation War took place in 1917. [had taken হবে না]

Reported Speech এবং Indirect Speech মূলত: একই।

Direct & Indirect speech:
- There can be two basic narratives to describe a statement in English.
- In Direct speech, "a quoted speech" is used to narrate someone else's speech. এখানে বক্তার প্রেক্ষাপট থেকে বর্ণনা করা হয়।
- অন্যদিকে, indirect speech হলো, when we tell someone what another person said অর্থাৎ, বক্তার  বক্তব্যকে ভিন্ন ভাবে বা শ্রোতার প্রেক্ষাপট থেকে বর্ণনা করা হয়।
- সুতরাং, direct speech is also called the reporting speech and indirect speech is called the reported speech.
- অতএব দেখা যাচ্ছে, Reported speech এবং Indirect speech দুটো একই ।

নিচের উদাহরণ গুলো খেয়াল করুন:
- Direct speech: 'I work in a bank,' said Daniel.
- Indirect speech: Daniel said that he worked in a bank.

আবার,
He said to me, “I will help you”. হচ্ছে Direct speech. বাংলা অর্থ: সে আমাকে বলেছিল, “আমি তোমাকে সাহায্য করব”।
এর Indirect form হচ্ছে - He told me that he would help me. বাংলা অর্থ: সে আমাকে বলেছিল যে সে আমাকে সাহায্য করবে । 
আগের বাক্যটির reported form হলো পরের বাক্যটি।
সুতরাং, দেখা যাচ্ছে বক্তার সরাসরি বক্তব্য Direct speech এ উল্লেখ থাকে।
অন্যদিকে, Indirect speech-বক্তার সরাসরি বক্তব্যকে একটু পরিবর্তন করে বর্ণনাকারী নিজের মত করে বর্ণনা করে। আর এটাকেই Reported speech বলে।

Rules of Conversion from Active to Passive Voice:
1. Identify the subject, the verb and the object: S+V+O
2. Change the object into subject
3. Add suitable helping verb or auxiliary verb according to the tense present in the sentence.
4. Change the verb into past participle of the verb
5. Add the preposition "by“
6. Change the subject into object

So, according to the basic rules of changing voice, the correct answer is : Plays were read by him.

- অপশনে প্রদত্ত বাক্যগুলোর মধ্যে সঠিক বাক্যটি Present perfect tense structure এ হবে: 
Subject ( I, You, We, You, They ) + HAVE + V3 ( third form of main verb – past participle )

- এছাড়া,   Everybody তার সাথে singular form of verb গ্রহন করে। 
- এই বাক্যের মূল verb: reach এবং এর past participle হবে: reached. 

সুতরাং,  সঠিক উত্তর হবে: Everybody has reached there. 

Negative Imperative Sentence: 
- These sentences tell the subject to not do something.
- They usually begin with the verb "don't" or the negative form of a verb. For example, “Don’t forget your luggage.

এই ধরনের বাক্যগুলোর Narrative , পরিবর্তনের সময়:

- Subject এর পর সাধারণত not to বসাতে হয়। 
- সাধারণত এই বাক্যগুলো simple present  এ হয়। 

সুতরাং, সঠিক উত্তরটি হবে: The sign says not to park. 

যেহেতু বাক্যটি Present perfect form এ আছে। সুতরাং, voice change  এর সময় এর structureটি হবে এমন: 
- Object becomes subject+ have/has+ Past participle+ by + subject becomes object.

অতএব, সঠিক উত্তরটি হবে: The tiger has been being killed by us. 

Voice change এর নিয়মানুসারে: 

1. প্রথমে  সেই বাক্যটির subject, the verb and the object: S+V+O চিহ্ণিত করতে হবে। 
2. এরপর সেই বাক্যের Object কে subject করতে হবে। 
3. তারপর tense এবং subject অনুসারে auxiliary verb গ্রহন করতে হবে। 
4. বাক্যস্থিত main verb  এর  past participle বসাতে হবে। 
5. অধিকাংশ ক্ষেত্রে , preposition "by“ যুক্ত করতে হবে। 
6. সবশেষে সেই বাক্যের Subject কে object  এর জায়গায় বসাতে হবে। 

সুতরাং, এই বাক্যের সঠিক Passive form  টি হল: The whole nation is paralyzed by the Corruption.

Sentence structures
There are three types of sentence structures: simple, compound and complex.

1. Simple sentences
Simple sentences have only one main clause:
Example: We’re going on holiday tomorrow. (one main clause)

2. Compound sentences
Compound sentences have two or more main clauses, joined by a coordinating conjunction:
Example: I phoned her but she wasn’t there.

3. Complex sentences
Complex sentences have a main clause and one or more subordinate clauses, introduced by a subordinating conjunction. 
Example. You can call me if you have any problems.

এখানে, যেহেতু quoted অংশটুকু simple present form এ আছে: 
-Indirect speech এ পরিবর্তনের সময় এটি simple past এ পরিবর্তিত হবে: 

সুতরাং সঠিক বাক্যটি হবে:  The boy said that he was hungry.

"The website is building." এই বাক্যটি মূলত "The website is (at the process of) building." এর সংক্ষিপ্ত রূপ।

এখানে Build একটি complement বিহীন quasi passive verb. 
Quasi-passive Verb বলতে এমন কিছু verb বুঝায় যেগুলো half active এবং half passive.
যেমন: Sell, build, smell, taste ইত্যাদি হল খুবই প্রচলিত কিছু quasi-passive verb.

যেমন, প্রদত্ত বাক্যটির অর্থ হল:  ওয়েবসাইট তৈরি করা হচ্ছে। অর্থাৎ, এই বাক্যটিতে আমরা কোন কর্তা পাচ্ছি না। ওইয়েবসাইট কে তৈরি করছে সে কথা বলা নেই। তাই, এটি passive অর্থ প্রকাশ করে। আবার structure অনুসারে এটি active.

- Quasi-passive verb দুই ধরণের হতে পারে। complement যুক্ত এবং complement বিহীন।
- Quasi-passive Verb যে বাক্যে থাকে তার active এবং passive উভয় form-এর subject একই থাকে।

• Complement বিহীন Quasi-passive voice এর passive form এর structure: subject + be verb (tense ও subject অনুসারে) + main verb এর past participle + extension (যদি থাকে)
সে অনুসারে সঠিক passive form হবে: The website is being built. 

• Complement-বিশিষ্ট quasi-passive verb কোন বাক্যে থাকলে তাকে passive করতে হলে এই structure অণুসরণ করতে হয়:
passive: Subject + be-verb + complement +when (if)+it/they + be verb + Verb-এর past participle.
যেমন: 
Quasi-passive: The stories read well
Passive: The stories are well when they are read.

প্রথমেই  Tell & Say’ verb এর ব্যবহারটা দেখে নেই: 

Use of ’Tell & Say’ verb
- These two verbs are often used while changing the narration. 
- We use say and tell in different ways in reported speech;  Say focuses on the words someone said and tell focuses more on the content or message of what someone said.
- We don’t use an indirect object with say. example: ‘I’m in a hurry,’ he said to me.
-  In other words, when we know to whom narrator is talking to we use tell: He told me that you were a genius. 
- On the other hand, when we don't know to whom narrator is talking we use, say: He said that you were leading from the front.
- মূল কথা হলো, যখন বক্তা কার সাথে কথা বলেছে সুনির্দিষ্ট ভাবে জানা যায় , তখন tell  বসবে, অপরদিকে , যখন জানা যায় না তখন say বসবে। 

প্রদত্ত প্রশ্নে Jerin কার সাথে কথা বলেছে এটি যেহেতু সুনির্দিষ্ট ভাবে জানা যাচ্ছে সুতরাং এখানে, told  বসবে। 

সঠিক বাক্যটি হবে: Jerin told me that you were there.

- বাক্যের প্রথম অংশ, অর্থাৎ Do not disturb me is a command.
- The subject will be 'I' in the passive voice and we will use the past participle form of the verb i.e disturbed.
- This part of the sentence is in the present tense so the passive form will be in the past tense and use 'should'.
- The second part of the sentence will be written as it is in the passive voice.

So, the correct answer is: I should not be disturbed while I am preparing my project report.

প্রথমেই  Tell & Say’ verb এর ব্যবহারটা দেখে নেই: 

Use of ’Tell & Say’ verb
- These two verbs are often used while changing the narration.

- On the other hand, when we don't know to whom narrator is talking we use, say: He said that you were leading from the front.
- মূল কথা হলো, যখন কার সাথে কথা বলেছে সুনির্দিষ্ট ভাবে জানা যায় , তখন tell  বসবে, অপরদিকে , যখন জানা যায় না তখন say বসবে। 

প্রদত্ত প্রশ্নে Shehrin  কার সাথে কথা বলেছে এটি যেহেতু সুনির্দিষ্ট ভাবে জানা যাচ্ছে  যাচ্ছে সুতরাং এখানে, told  বসবে। 

সঠিক বাক্যটি হবে: Sheerin told me that she liked chocolate-flavored cake.

Imperative sentence: (Sub+asked/order/command/request) +to+ main verb+object.

- Narration Change এর ক্ষেত্রে অর্থের উপর Focus করতে হয় বেশি।
- তাই Indirect Narration করার সময় এখানে Reporting Verb ‘told’ = ‘asked’ বসবে। ( যেহেতু এখানে আদেশ অর্থ প্রদান করছে)
- আর Imperative Sentence এর ক্ষেত্রে সাধারণত to+Verb বসে।

অতএব সঠিক বাক্যটি হবে: He asked the peon to do the work.

- Change of narration এর সাধারণ নিয়মানুসারে, direct speech এর quoted অংশটুকু present indefinite হলে  indirect speech এ এটি past indefinite এ পরিণত হয়। 
- প্রদত্ত অপশনগুলোর মধ্যে কেবল She couldn't come  বাক্যটিই কেবল simple past form এ আছে। 
 
সুতরাং এটিই সঠিক উত্তর । 

As soon as
- If you say that something happens as soon as something else happens, you mean that it happens immediately after the other thing.
ইংরেজি গ্রামারের সাধারণ নিয়মানুযায়ী:
- as soon as এর পূর্বে ও পরের tense একই হয়।
- অর্থাৎ, যেহেতু প্রদত্ত প্রশ্নে as soon as এর পূর্বের অংশ past indefinite tense, সুতরাং পরের অংশ ও past indefinite tense হবে।

অতএব সঠিক বাক্যটি হবে: I closed the door as soon as I felt the fear.

Direct & Indirect speech: 
- There can be two basic narratives to describe a statement in English.

যেহেতু এখানে, direct speech, present perfect সুতরাং change of narrative  এর সময়  এটি Past perfect form অনুসরণ করবে। 

অতএব সঠিক বাক্যটি হল: He asked her how long she had lived there.

When water freezes it turns into ice. 
বাংলা অনুবাদ= পানি জমে গেলে বরফে পরিণত হয়।

যদি দুইটি Clause, When দ্বারা যুক্ত হয়, তখন দুইটি clause এর result এর clause টি যদি present indefinite tense হয়, তখন এর আগের when যুক্ত clause টিও present indefinite tense হবে।

খেয়াল করুন,
যেহেতু indirect speech এ simple past structure আছে, অতএব direct speech এ পরিবর্তনের সময় এটি simple present হবে। 

প্রদত্ত অপশনগুলোর মধ্যে সর্বাধিক গ্রহনযোগ্য উত্তর :  Usama: I enjoy being a leader. 

Direct speech এ যদি yes/no question থাকে তাহলে change of narrative এর সময় if/whether যুক্ত হয়। 

এছাড়াও প্রদত্ত প্রশ্নে, Reporting verb এর পরিবর্তনঃ
-asked এখানে asked -ই থাকবে।
- Tense এর পরিবর্তনঃ Present Indefinite থাকায় Past Indefinite হবে।

অতএব সঠিক বাক্যটি হবে: She asked me If I knew him.

 যেহেতু quoted অংশটুকু present continuous  সুতরাং এর Reported  speech টি হবে past continuous structure অনুসরণ করবে। 

সঠিক বাক্যটি হবে: Sajid told to me that he was going to the store.

Present perfect Tense এর Active voice থেকে Passive voice করার নিয়ম:

- Object টির subjective form + have been/ has been + মূল verb এর past participle + by + subject এর objective form.
যেমন-
Active voice: Tonmoy has made tea.
Passive voice: Tea has been made by Tonmoy.

Voice change এর নিয়মানুসারে: 

1. প্রথমে  সেই বাক্যটির subject, the verb and the object: S+V+O চিহ্ণিত করতে হবে। 
2. এরপর সেই বাক্যের Object কে subject করতে হবে। 
3. তারপর tense এবং subject অনুসারে auxiliary verb গ্রহন করতে হবে। 
4. বাক্যস্থিত main verb  এর  past participle বসাতে হবে। 
5. অধিকাংশ ক্ষেত্রে , preposition "by“ যুক্ত করতে হবে। 
6. সবশেষে সেই বাক্যের Subject কে object  এর জায়গায় বসাতে হবে। 

সুতরাং, সঠিক বাক্যটি হবে: An email was being drafted by Safia.
